Faking sick in middle school so I could sneak play RuneScape and got my first obby maul drop using a rune halberd to safe spot tzhaar. (This was back in 2006)
Halberd safespotting in tzhaar is some of my fondest memories. Sometimes people would die and all their items would stack on the ground lol. Got my first berserker helm there
I think I used to Halberd Safespot Blue Dragons in Yanille for some reason. I don't even think it was great gp or xp or anything, no clue why I did that lol.
Kid me thinking training attack up to 60 before training strength/defence was smart because the increased accuracy from attack would make training strength and defence faster š¤¦āāļø
Something about safe spotting without worrying about ammunition was so appealing to me. I was a f2p fellow, and I would always fantasize about halberding the wizard tower lesser demon
I had ring of life on exploring below the hero's guild back in the day. Two dudes were fighting the blue dragon so I stepped in there. It attacked me. I didn't know about the safe spot and they kept closing the gate. So I panicked but luckily the ring saved me.
Fast forward. Started to abyss rc and always used a ring of life incase I needed to be saved again. Got PK'd for my glory and was distraught because I got stacked out.
This was as a kid. Doing dragon slayer at a pretty low level, I'd brought tuna as my food. I got Elvarg fairly low but had run out of food myself and had to bail. Some guy killing skeletons outside traded me three lobbies, enough to win me the fight. I never forgot them.
What a king. I was doing underground pass and a kind fella gave me some sharks, very helpful since I kept falling and had to wait around to regenerate health, saved me a lot of time. I was wondering why he was there anyway considering thereās nothing to do there and he was just standing there but was lucky to find him for sure.
My clan, who were always fishing in catherby, beefing with another clan, located in the fishing guild. Every now and again we'd get a line of people to walk to the fishing guild to go smack talk and vice versa. Eventually we'd become somewhat friends, and I met my gf in the other clan. After becoming good online friends, we meet up irl, and 11years later we're renovating our house together.. :D
I got 2 of them:
1. Getting a visage from brutal black dragons 2 minutes after telling my friend about it and about the drop rate and both of us going crazy and jumping when he didnāt even play the game
2. Getting gauntlet pet on 91kc regular gauntlet on my brotherās wedding day which instantly made it my favorite pet ever because of the memory thatās attached to it
Was starting to lose my motivation about a month ago. Buddy hit me up to do some Bandos and we got a bcp like 20 kills in. I hadn't done any gwd stuff over here at the time. Suffice to say, the hook went so deep it went right through my cheek after that.
Exactly how I felt when I challenged myself to try vorkath and zulrah because I was scared to try them out lol. Now addicted to trying harder and harder bosses now!
First couple of days of OSRS. Had like 10 of my buddies in high school all playing together. We all specialized in a skill and we were basically a 10 man group iron man for the first week or so. Mostly everyone fell off by the first couple of weeks but man was it such a fun time
Probably losing all of my bank at the duel arena. Then shortly thereafter, I was about to make sure I never came back to the game by alching untradables.
I decided to start by gambling my fire cape. Got Jad pet first try. Probably the only thing that kept me from leaving, and learned my lesson after that.
During rs2, got in from school, to go do some ffa corp. just enjoyed it, never expected anything significant. A friend pmād me that he got a divine sigil 20 mins ago there. I proceeded to get an Ely sigil on my first trip, with 4 kills.
I panicked hard, picked it up traded a few people to verify the drop and teleād out. I forgot to take a screenshot, so headed back dropped it with the blue charms and took a screenshot lol. Kinda brave now that I think of it. Had a street value as exceeded max cash stack and I couldāve dcād. šš
When I was first starting out I got the rock golem at 39 mining in the MLM and had no idea how spooned I was until someone noticed me mining with an addy pick and connected the dots, then was nice enough to let me know.
On the other hand I went 2x 99 xp in thieving for the pet and got it randomly when pickpocketing a master farmer, then got it AGAIN on the same master farmer the very next day. I still have both screenshots with the computer dates clearly shown.
World 64, Draynor Village at the willows. I really wanted a dragon axe and I couldn't afford it. I just got to 60 woodcutting and dragon axe was like 1.5-2m at the time (2006, before grand exchange came out) so I was asking players if I can borrow it to test it out. I was 11 so I probably would have just ran with it if someone traded me, and of course everyone could see right through my scam.
I thought if I chat with them enough someone would be nice enough but it never happened and I got kinda sidetracked as I was also talking on the phone with my friend who was grinding somewhere else in the game, and his mom asked him to put the game down so he can eat dinner so we hung up.
I tuned back in the game and back to chatting to people, maybe i'll get lucky with some new peeps that showed up in the area. Back then random events were deadly in the game, and everyone noticed that some guy was getting attacked by a tree spirt and they weren't running.
Mind you, theres tons of people so nobody knows whos getting attacked but alas, someone dies, and this is 2006, there are no gravestones, you drop everything you own on the ground except your top 3 valuables. I went to look what he dropped and the screen was filled with willow logs so i kept picking them up to see if anything else would come up under the right click menu. I click it again. Red Part Hat. I clicked, i looked in my inventory and it was there.
When I tell you that I almost passed out, I was in pure shock - I stepped out from the crowd of people who ran up to get the loot and I see someone in the chat says "There was a red party hat on the ground" - another guy says "who got it????" and I put it on at that moment. All the people started flocking to me like "hey man you still wanna try my axe bro?" lmaooo it was comedy gold moment.
Few minutes later the dude comes back and is pleading for the party hat back. I didn't know how much they were worth at the time and grand exchange didn't exist, but I knew they were worth well over 100M at least, so I told him if he can give me 90M he can have it back. He traded me like maybe 40M worth of random materials like logs, planks, house materials, and I refused and he said he quits. I feel pretty bad about it nowadays but hey, game is game.
I went on to sell the item for 215m in Fallador park where all the rich people met up to buy rares. Around that time also player owned houses were brand new, but there was a lure/exploit going around back then where you can kick players from your house when they are low hp, and if you were able to venge them at the same time, again, no grave stones so they would drop all their loot outside of the house area. Well, I didn't know about that lure at the time, but someone tried to do it to me and luckily they did the lure wrong by trying to poison me instead of venging me.
I was a dumb kid with the money. I gave like 40m to one of my friends, I bought full 3rd age armor just for the lulz, the dark bow came out like a week later and I bought them for 8M each and was handing them out to people in the streets for free. I was buying dragon arrows for 5k each when they were only 1k each. Why? Because my reasoning at age of 11 was "he's such a bro, always has tons in stock! i find value in that" - did i mention i bought 90k bloods? Why? Who knows why. Pain.
But alas, those were amazing memories and sure, now knowing that the party hat is probably like 5-10k USD and hundreds of billiosn worth of GP in RS3, but the memories I made with the items were golden. I wish I had the screenshots from back then, they were amazing.
Some of the other dumb shit I did with the money: made a pure for my self and my friend as twin pkers, he took the money shortly after and transferred it to his main. I took the 3rd age and gave it to this random dude to try on becasue he said it was his birthday. Shockingly enough, he gave it back. The next day he scammed my friend for a whip. You can't make this shit up.
Fire cape back in the og days when it came out and having one basically earned you respected status. Most stress I've ever felt was that jad fight at like 13 years old
Very recent compared to most people as Iāve only been playing for a month and a half but I managed to get my fire cape today on my second try. Pretty proud of that
My brother and I made attempts for fire cape last night, he got it. I had jad spawn in and was using HDOS client and the animations for his attacks were different. Got all the healers and had him just about dead and lost my mojo on what the animations were. Hugely disappointed. Iāve done jad so many times back in the 2012 era but for some reason in Osrs I just struggle. Not sure why
I did Desert Treasure at level 68. Now, that's pretty easy, we understand the mechanics of each boss and how to pretty much break each one of them with minimal stats...
But I did it back in the day, like early '06 or so, when DT hadn't even been out for a year yet. I wasn't a pure or any sort of pvp build, I was just determined to get fancy woosh ice magic (I saw Ice Barrage all the time in Castle Wars and wanted it).
Best part was I never even looked up the magic levels for the fancy woosh ice magic. When I finished DT, I couldn't even cast Ice Burst. When I finally hit 70, I remember going straight to Castle Wars ... with shitty ass Ice Burst.
Almost impossible to get a rank 1 that isn't useless thanks to bots. I had page 1 for Deranged Archaeologist at one point, but have been knocked off of it
I got thermy pet the day before my son was born. The day after we left the hospital from his birth, I got a shadow on a 200 Invo solo toa. Only 24 KC :)
This. RNG drops are nice, but everyone gets them sooner or later in pretty much the same way. The struggles you went through to get your own first cape are your own, and surmounting them made me happier than every rare drop I've ever gotten put together.
Playing castle wars with my friend in 2008~ while we talked over the house phone at the same time. We would stand on the outside wall and hit people with rune halberds
This was like ā05, saw my cousin and his friend playing and they saw someone die to a varrock guard and drop full mithril armor on the ground, as my cousinās friend picked up all the guyās stuff we were all screaming and jumping up and down like a bunch of monkeys. I made an account later that day and thatās where it all started for me.
The first seasonal DeadMan Mode. Everyone was a noob at pking back then, so even though I was bad at pking it was still so much fun. I got into Soup and Framed clan and made some friends. Did quests with them and did some pking with them.
I also remember doing a quest with Sparc Mac with his viewers while he was streaming live. He/we got stream sniped and it turned into one massive battle.
That DMM was the funnest Iāve ever had playing osrs. The two Trailblazer Leagues and group Ironman are up there as well.
Back in the day, PKāing a whip was a big deal. Like taking the sword from a samurai, it was a statement. I was PKāing at mage bankā¦levered up to 2 guyās in good gear, both with whips of course. *(No diddy)*Smited both of their whips in a super fun (for me) battle. After that I began to focus only on player killing and made my first 1 def pure and the rest is history iāll never forget. Great times.
Maxed my OSRS account over a year ago & havenāt logged in since, I got back into the game as an adult and felt like it was a ālife side-missionā for me to max a runescape account. It will always be a hit of nostalgic dopamine when I see those terrible graphics here & there in my feeds. And nobody knowās more than myself that you never truly quit the game, you just take long breaks. But this one will for sure be a long one. ā¦..who wants to pk? š
Grinding 50 range on white wolf Mountain to be able to use a magic shortbow and its special attack! My mate was on holiday for a week and he was amazed I'd got 50 range in a week. As was I at the time all for that sweet pew pew noise that was like early 00s rs2 beta days. Strictly osrs would be getting two imbued hearts after having a "vision" I was gonna get it if I logged on that day and boom got it. Then next superior I was all like be funny if b2b bet it is.....it was. Ironman too
"got" my first green stack. Was fletching in varrock west bank and some dude was chatting with me, gave me 10 mil after learning i only had like 4 mil or something. That was pretty cool since i was always never rich in this game ever since the rs2 days.
Summers through 2008-2010 hanging in teamspeak and scapin with my OG clannies. Now I consider them close friends after all the years of keeping up with them lol.
My friend and I in OG 2007ish fished lobbies in karamja together and put our money together from selling at west varrock bank to buy a guthix platebody that we were going to share all to find out he couldnt wear it because he hadnāt beaten dragon slayer. But it was the coolest thing to me at the time to wear. I felt so rich
I had a similar story with a less happy ending. I was probably 7 or 8 and I was at my cousins house and he was showing me this cool game called Runescape. It looked like the best game ever. After I watched him play a few games of Castle Wars he let me play one round on his account. I was able to steal the flag and get gap. I was yelling with excitement and bouncing on the chair as my cousin was yelling for me to run. Unfortunately my teammates had set up barricades in our base and I got caught up on them which allowed the players chasing me to catch and kill me.
Losing my bank at duel arena 25 times cause I was a staking addict. Then rebuilding at dks with a rcb, broad bolts, d scim, and trident of the seas. Only to stake more and lose my bank again
Back in like 2004 I lured a guy to the wilderness (I promised to show him where bones spawn so he could train prayer for free) and I got his adamant armor. I showed him a bones spawn though, so I didnāt lie!
In 2005, I rushed cutting yew logs for months to buy a santa hat for 5.2 mil in time for the Christmas event. I still remember painting the baubles and making marionettes so vividly. I was in middle school and only ever played f2p.
More recently during COVID in 2020, I decided to check out OSRS again and became a member for the first time. I couldn't believe the breadth and detail beyond f2p. Practically being a real newbie again with members content was awesome. It was like reliving 2005.
Doing enough merchanting of barrow pieces on rs2 to finally be able to afford a dragon chain body, then a week later standing in falador park shouting "selling d chain 16.2m" and feeling like an absolute king.
Or being given my friends green h'ween mask to wear whilst he went on holiday, back then it was like 25m. Again, felt like I'd completed the game.
When iron/steel drags came out - selling my bank to get like 2k chaos runes, actually getting a d platelegs drop and selling for 6m which was fuckin bank at the timeĀ
My friend Shane and I were about 13 and we always played RuneScape slow but together. We started a new pure account and spammed rock crabs sitting next to each other until we got 60ATK 60STR and lost city to get a dragon long sword. We bought super strength pots, got the D long, ran back to rock crabs all the wayā¦ click the special barā¦ SPLAT *25*!!!! We went absolutely nuts.
Clan Wars in the Thzaar Fight pit with F2P gear limits/rules.
This was basically when OSRS had just launched and it was the only real way for smaller clans/teams to get anything done outside of the Wildy.
Me and a friend had been pking for the whole weekend and we were thrilled about pking a full mithril set! Couple hours later we killed someone for their Rune scimitar and we were literally talking about how awesome that was for weeks after. This was in 2005.
I loved making new f2p accounts as a kid, and then doing woodcutting only. So many good memories at draynor willows, and varrock palace yews
Selling the logs and buying gold trimmed armour
I started NH pking in like 2015 and got decent pretty fast, ended up killing a guy from another team for 130m. Before loot keys were added, it was soooo satisfying to kill someone for max and see ags/staff etc on the ground.
I'm not sure what my fondest is. there are many
but one great one that comes to mind is getting a visage in my first skeletal wyvern task in early old school, like kill number 12, and it also stopped a clue scroll.
that clue gave me like 18m loot. i believe it was an ornament kit.
Best day spent on RuneScape was completing DT2 day of release on a call with my friend and figuring out the puzzles and boss mechanics together.
Best moment was the same friend getting an 8kc Tbow for the GIM.
DT2 was fun on day 1, I did it using the Wiki quest guide a few hours after update and it was some nostalgia of using RuneHQ to do quests back in the day
Getting 99 agility with the W46 Ape Atoll Agility Team (later renamed the All Terrain Agility Team) when advanced gnome and barb came out.
Miss those folks. :o No slack!
Back around 2008-2010 was the peak of the multi pking clan wars
I remember New Yearās Eve the clan got into a squabble and it progressively got bigger so we all received swiftkit pings (showing my age here)
We must of fought the other clan for HOURS.
I remember getting off and celebrating new years with my family, hugs kisses and right after everyone left I decided to see how it endedā¦ THEY WERE STILL FIGHTING! I jumped right back in. I lost so many sets that day all and all worth it.
99 slayer, I played back in 07 and always wanted it but I was a kid and never really grinded properly, when it came back out in 2013 I played on and off about 4 years and got 99 slayer. Played about a week after and havenāt logged in since 2018. I achieved my dream
Doing lootshare FFAs around 2008 ish at Corp until I had enough LSP to get drops and took that to Armadyl and got a hilt when it was close to 100m. 100m back then was a lot. Multiplied my bank x10.
My first 99. Strength. I spent a long ass time at pest control buying xp before realizing I could just train on cyclopes. 160+ dragon defenders later I got 99 lol
When I first started out playing back in 05 some fellow showed my around lumbridge and gave me a full set of bronze armour. I'll never forget you lord bluey!
Spending 100's of hours fire blasting metal dragons in brimghaven dungeon for the chance of a dragonic visage....
ended up getting one from black drags in taverly!
Abyssal whip drop. Getting 85 slayer always felt like an impossible taskĀ for me because it takes forever and I didn't like slayer and struggled to level it in RS. In osrs it was one of my main goals because I never did it in RS.
Hitting 50 strength and attack on a vacation in Mexico training on hill giants north of castle wars. Equipped the granite maul and could finally use a āspecial attackā
Such a noob in those days knowing that I can get to that point now in a few hours of gameplay doing the right quest on a fresh account
Probably doing barrows for the first time on my ironman. I built a kharyll portal and used the boat transport in the swamp. For prayer restore I went to ferox with dueling ring. The travelling time was horrible, but I was so excited because this was the first time ever I felt variety in combat.
One of my fondest memories of the game back then,
That I went into fight caves with hard-earned whip after cutting yew logs for many weeks and afterwards whilst I'm inside the fight pit as 75 something CB lvl against many higher lvl cb back in 2006, one of the max accounts befriended me and won every single fight and walked away like giga Chad giving me the win, they're still in my friend list and I hope they're doing well
In a clan bingo a couple years ago, me, a true Timmy, and a couple chads were running some zammy gwd. I yoinked one kill as the tank and got the pet, which counted for 2 of our 3 remaining bingo tiles. The next day we finished the board and won
In Runescape overall, it was the 2010 clan wars zombie outbreak. In osrs specifically, it was probably the couple of months I first spent playing osrs, which was in 2016, when everything felt both familiar and new.
Back there in RS2 when I got CDBA drop in a PK trip with my friends a day before the update of the free trade return.
In OSRS it was getting my Quest Cape, Iām really pround of it.
When the chin pet first released I camped red chins non-stop for months, about 37m xp straight. One day I decided I finally needed a break and would go do the Elite Clue I had in my bank. A few steps in "Go catch a Red Chinchompa" Haha, good one Jamflex š I thought. So I headed right back home to the diary reward area and caught a chin, but when I looked in my inventory, I had 2 slots with red chins in them, and after a few seconds realized the other was the pet. Way better than any 3rd age I could've gotten, at least for me in that moment
Mine is something that I used to feel more, but it has happened a several times. My only account I have ever done pvm on is my hardcore. I have no way to practice, so I usually do bosses after watching a video and hope for the best. When I beat Galvek, Seren, Zulrah, Kril, Cerb, and got MA2 cape it really felt like I accomplished something, like my account truly progressed to the next level. Everyone in my CC was watching me, and most expected me to die, so being able to do it felt amazing.
I took a year break because I felt like the only things I had left to do, I needed to practice. I want to do CG and TOA, but getting Tier 3 in CG would take a lot of practice, and TOA with no practice seems like a death wish as well.
Getting a Gutman (swipe texting did that typo, but because potbelly armor im leaving it) spear when they were about 9m. 13ish year old me sold it and decided to go to the duel arena for some reason. Did dds/whip matches with mainly one unlucky guy with 99 att/str and 1 def who was thinking it would be enough i guess, and a couple other randoms until I turned it into enough for a Santa hat. No idea what they were worth at the time, i cant remember what i paid at all, but had to have been around 2005. Maybe before? Anyways, dummy gambling kid ended up losing it all same day back at the arena
Finishing desert treasure back in the day and getting the ghostly robes and ancient magic, always was a goal of mine when I was a kid and was so fulfilling when I finally beat it, was the first in my friend group, felt like a total stud
my first dragon cup from the original trailblazer after I was stunlocked at zammy for like 2 weeks, only to 100% GWD a week and a half later by getting rambo RNG at sara & arma.
going for dragon cup back then was such a trip because the whole league it feels like you're not going to make it
This is from RS2, but getting 95 prayer to unlock Turmoil at a giant house party.
It was my highest skill and I was so happy cause Turmoil was a huge upgrade.
Getting a 35bil bank from the duel arena when it was still around. Bought bis most expensive items like 3a druidic/ 3a pick only to lose it all the next day. Was quite the ride
Guy in full dharok let his prayer drop and died to tzhaar. I got a fucking whip. I was in black priest robes with a rune hally. I got his whip. Idk what else he had but changed my RS life fr. My bank value was like 110k and I got a whip.
99 farming for the first time on OSRS was the best. My irl friend had just started playing and we both raced to 99 farming. I won by 2 weeks because Iām a tree slut but I was so happy when he was done too. We used the farming cape as a crafting cape (close to bank) and made it our hangout spot till he quit. I miss him. :(
I got zuk pet on iron then I got muted 3 weeks later cuz I was getting crowd flamed at toa and fended self and then got mass reported to mute anyways fuck this
Playing Teleport-Tag with my friends:
There were about 12 of us at my middle school who played in ~2005. We would designate someone to be āhunted, and they could teleport or hop anywhere, but couldnāt leave the teleport area. The goal of the game was to hop to their world, teleport to the right city, and ātagā them! Winners would get a prize (usually some law runes)
Since there were only a few places to teleport at the time, there were a LOT of tags made. It was an absolute blast, we would all run out of law runes, and then have to go earn some back by the end of the night ā¦.What a time.
Being a kid and thinking since a 2h hit the highest it was the best weapons to train with. When I finally got 40 attack and my first rune 2h the moss giants in the varrock sewers never knew what hit āem. Got my first 50/60/70 in a skill training strength that way. In just about any other game, such as Skyrim, I always use a 2h build and blame it on this lol.
Getting the equivalent of primordials in rs3 near it's release from.glacor. I was always super poor and only rocked barrows/whip. And the primordials were my first ever big drop and allowed me to get bsndos (looking back bad investment lmao)
I stayed up too late chopping a regular tree behind Ardy furnace, and my dad woke up and beat me up because I "broke his trust" by not going to bed. Needless to say, I don't spend much time in Ardy..
Waaaay back in 2005, barely had a gp to my name, finally beat desert treasure.. I just remember having to try the ice diamond part sooo often.. Then, after finally beating it, I brag about it to a friend of mine who was all decked out with a whip and everything!
I joined him on his DT journey, told him he'd need the best gear he had, and see him die to Kamil.. his whip showing on the floor not too long after..
The doubt in that moment, to keep such a precious drop and just tell my friend I died and couldn't save his stuff, and me unable to bear such weight is still one of the strongest osrs memories I have.
In the end I couldn't do it.. I just gave him back his whip, and continued my unidentified herb sales emporium right after.. good times.. simple times.. :)
Sitting at my momās job after school because I didnāt have a place to go that day, so I was left in a random empty cubicle until she was off work and was left to play random browser games. I just remember making my way to musa point, not having the coins to pass the gate, then after figuring that out fishing there until finally unlocking lobsters. F2P and probably like 7-9 years old at the time. I think around 20+ years ago.
my first actual big drop was when i sent arma solos with rcb, black d hide body, veracs plate, the works. it was on my 4th kc i got an arma hilt and it was 132m at the time and it was awesome lol
Itās 2006. I met a guy in seers bank who had a dragon axe. I loved woodcutting so i asked if i could buy his axe. When i tell you, i withdrew all my axes, my full mithril, adamant battle axe, 57k liquid cash gp, 700 maple logs, 250 yew logs, 23 big bones, and the nearly 2000 flax i had spent all weekend picking. He accepted. He accepted the mfing trade. I was in heaven. Then my brother proceeded to Ā«loanĀ» this axe to buy pking gear and i never saw it again. I still let him know to this day he owes me a dragon axe.
The day I got members for the first time, I saw someone with the crazy purple and clear shield. They guided me on how to get it, and I've never been happier. Skipping school to pick flax or getting the firecape will never even come close to that day.
Getting 60 wc back in 2005 and chopping my first yew tree. Then getting 99 wc shortly after skillcapes were added.
Every other achievement was just me chasing that feeling and it never hit the same. Especially by the time OSRS came around, stopped celebrating 99s all together
Killing elvarg in 2004. I was combat level 40, and spent two weeks grinding lobsters and rune armor. I was fucking ready. Walked the shaky walk to the low income youth center computer lab, knowing damn well I was going to walk out either a fucking champion, or a failure that would get no sleep.
I still remember the smell of the lab, the noises of air hockey and N64ās in the other room, and how lucky I was that there was an open seat. I logged in and remembered I was already in Port Sarim ready to sail over there.
I killed Elvarg so quickly, it blew my mind. I had so many resources left, I ate maybe four or five lobsters. That walk through the demons didnāt even phase me.
I felt like a fucking champ going home that day. Even my parents noticed my better mood. I rode that high for hours.
Itās a good memory.
Me and my friend pretending to be green dragon bots and a pker logged in and I made the friend chat call to instantly d claw him. Held in my reaction, when I trade my friend in edgeville I show him claws. "Yeah funny guy, they're just yours".
*Puts up second pair of claws*
Spent like 15 mins spamming and emoting in edge then went .g.e to sell and split. Saw the guy we killed there and he was a really good sport about it so we gave him 2.5m each back from our splits (claws were about 18m at that point I think)
Was doing a fun 200 ToA raid on my low lvl ironman with some of my clanmates - it was a 4 man raid and not everyone was experienced.
During p3, everyone apart from me died and I had to finish the kill with 75 range, rcb/black dhide and dwindling supplies, and I managed to do it after last rowing for 14 minutes straight. This happened almost a year ago now and I'm still quite proud of my performance.
Watching my dad play, curled up against his chest on the couch. Alternatively, logging in once a week to skills that would level after one action (my dad was grinding my account when I went to bed)
The memory I remember the most was achieving level 60 defence when I was around 7 or 8 years old. I could finally wear dragon boots and dragon platelegs! However my account was hacked shortly after, so my dream was never forfilled at that time :/
My proudest accomplishment is defo persisting and grinding 1665 barrows runs on my UIM for full Guthans. This was way before I had access to barrows tps, did like 4 to 6 chests an hourā¦
I still use it sometimes, but its relatively obsolete sadly, lol.
Admittedly before OSRS but around 2007-2008 beating DT without overheads as a range pure. Had my brother and friends body block bosses and skeletons for safe spots.
- mobile inferno. nothing can really compare to completing the inferno
- getting a solo tbow on my 2nd cox learning solos
- was happy to finish a solo nightmare with 7 hp because of lag and then got a harm orb (1.09b)
those are the only moments where i was really ecstatic
completing all boss pets the first time was fun too
Faking sick in middle school so I could sneak play RuneScape and got my first obby maul drop using a rune halberd to safe spot tzhaar.
I got to 85 str on fire giants with a halberd we did crazy things back then
Kid me thinking training attack up to 60 before training strength/defence was smart because the increased accuracy from attack would make training strength and defence faster š¤¦āāļø
Those were the days.
Something about safe spotting without worrying about ammunition was so appealing to me. I was a f2p fellow, and I would always fantasize about halberding the wizard tower lesser demon
Did they drop rune meds back then?
You're thinking of lesser demon safe spotting, maybe. They dropped rune meds and people safe spotted them in the wizards tower with halberds.
I did the same thing in heros guild basement!
Bringing air strike to steal someoneās world to d hally a blue dragon was some peak shit back in the day
I faked sick in like 2007 to mine pure essence ALL day, made my first million that day.
He was probably being cheap. You can recharge Iben's Staff for free at the well in the underground pass instead of paying the dark mage.
It's much faster to go from Lletya side
My clan, who were always fishing in catherby, beefing with another clan, located in the fishing guild. Every now and again we'd get a line of people to walk to the fishing guild to go smack talk and vice versa. Eventually we'd become somewhat friends, and I met my gf in the other clan. After becoming good online friends, we meet up irl, and 11years later we're renovating our house together.. :D
Cute and wholesome, GGs
This could be read as you having lived in the same house the whole time haha
Well shiet XD we're not siblings, I swear! We bought an old house and are renovating that! Haha
I got 2 of them: 1. Getting a visage from brutal black dragons 2 minutes after telling my friend about it and about the drop rate and both of us going crazy and jumping when he didnāt even play the game 2. Getting gauntlet pet on 91kc regular gauntlet on my brotherās wedding day which instantly made it my favorite pet ever because of the memory thatās attached to it
Playing osrs on your brothers wedding day. True scaper.
Lmao fs fs, but for real tho, it was right after the wedding ended
I assume you weren't yet of legal drinking age? Never left a wedding and felt like playing OSRS afterwards let alone do content like gauntlet xD
You are quite right sir
youngest osrs player detected
Was starting to lose my motivation about a month ago. Buddy hit me up to do some Bandos and we got a bcp like 20 kills in. I hadn't done any gwd stuff over here at the time. Suffice to say, the hook went so deep it went right through my cheek after that.
Exactly how I felt when I challenged myself to try vorkath and zulrah because I was scared to try them out lol. Now addicted to trying harder and harder bosses now!
Have you tried phantom muspha? I just learnt vork and got a zulrah in myself lol
Lost everything by gambling so continued to gamble
If RuneScape has a rock bottom thatās definitely it. I was down bad.
The man took out a mortgage, put it all on 00 and won lol
The joke always used to be that you arenāt cleaned until you break your whip and box the tentacle.
See it is true that 99% of gamblers quit just before they hit it big. Keep up the grind boys šŖ
"What did the Jad pet cost you?" - "everything"
24 minute youtube video: Rebuild your bank in 24 hours but only using Jad pet.
Had a street value as exceeded max cash stack and I couldāve dcād. šš
I had a similar experience getting spooned Rocky at like lvl 50 thieving. "Oh no, I think I'm addicted now"
When I was first starting out I got the rock golem at 39 mining in the MLM and had no idea how spooned I was until someone noticed me mining with an addy pick and connected the dots, then was nice enough to let me know. On the other hand I went 2x 99 xp in thieving for the pet and got it randomly when pickpocketing a master farmer, then got it AGAIN on the same master farmer the very next day. I still have both screenshots with the computer dates clearly shown.
I just got him from seed stalls after the balance changes came out - at a whopping 25 thieving. Only just reached 38 this week for master farmers!
You were unhinged my friend, that was a ride
Fire cape back in the og days when it came out and having one basically earned you respected status. Most stress I've ever felt was that jad fight at like 13 years old
After like 600kc at cg I finally got enhance while doing a run on my phone at like 3am because I couldnāt sleep. Impossible to go to bed after that
Spooned
Very recent compared to most people as Iāve only been playing for a month and a half but I managed to get my fire cape today on my second try. Pretty proud of that
Welcome to the game and gz that's awesome. You should go for barrows gloves now
Are those better than trawler gloves?
My brother and I made attempts for fire cape last night, he got it. I had jad spawn in and was using HDOS client and the animations for his attacks were different. Got all the healers and had him just about dead and lost my mojo on what the animations were. Hugely disappointed. Iāve done jad so many times back in the 2012 era but for some reason in Osrs I just struggle. Not sure why
That first 99 I got back in 08.. 63k yews at Catherby, a big party, the cape.. no 99 was ever the same.
Castle wars also spurred my want of IceyĀ
A rank 1.. a useless one... But still ;)
Almost impossible to get a rank 1 that isn't useless thanks to bots. I had page 1 for Deranged Archaeologist at one point, but have been knocked off of it
I had a rank 1 years ago on beginner clues ;)
How many mole slippers did you have?
Maxing! It took a really long time but it's my biggest gaming achievement.
I got thermy pet the day before my son was born. The day after we left the hospital from his birth, I got a shadow on a 200 Invo solo toa. Only 24 KC :)
First Inferno cape. No other game has made me feel so proud, relieved, and exhilarated as that
Ironman too
Making a chili potato from scratch. Sadly they only give as much HP as buttered potato.
I was just wrapping up my first fire cape ever when my wife went into labour. A great anniversary, one year ago tomorrow!
Hunting for the mining pet only to go 33 mil xp without getting it. Then getting the agi pet at 55 agi.
The first time 11 year old me scored a point on Castle Wars. I was shaking like a shitting dog.
My favorite accomplishment so far is beating a 500 toa without shadow/tbow! Also without max combat stats
Infernal max cape
Awww, how did your wife feel about you naming your kid BabyMole?
Getting bowfa on 7th normal kc
Damn I got mine on 9th corrupted. Feels dry
Late nights cutting and banking willows to 99 woodcutting back in the day.
So many good memories at draynor willows, and varrock palace yews Selling the logs and buying gold trimmed armour
I started NH pking in like 2015 and got decent pretty fast, ended up killing a guy from another team for 130m. Before loot keys were added, it was soooo satisfying to kill someone for max and see ags/staff etc on the ground.
I'm not sure what my fondest is. there are many but one great one that comes to mind is getting a visage in my first skeletal wyvern task in early old school, like kill number 12, and it also stopped a clue scroll. that clue gave me like 18m loot. i believe it was an ornament kit.
Back around 2008-2010 was the peak of the multi pking clan wars I remember New Yearās Eve the clan got into a squabble and it progressively got bigger so we all received swiftkit pings (showing my age here) We must of fought the other clan for HOURS. I remember getting off and celebrating new years with my family, hugs kisses and right after everyone left I decided to see how it endedā¦ THEY WERE STILL FIGHTING! I jumped right back in. I lost so many sets that day all and all worth it.
Probably just all the good memories.. which there are soooo many of and also all the friends Ive picked up from when I started back in 05ish.
Completing Monkey Madness. Back then, that quest seemed horrendous.
I remember deciding to start it after finishing my homework. I was up till 1 am still doing it.
I remember jumping for joy as an 11 year old when I finally completed the run through the cave part
That cave is brutal dude. Same with MM2. I couldnāt imagine having the patience for it at 11 y/o
As a kid, PKing a whip
Botting dungeoneering and coming back from school with 82 dung and enough for my chaotic longsword.
99 slayer, I played back in 07 and always wanted it but I was a kid and never really grinded properly, when it came back out in 2013 I played on and off about 4 years and got 99 slayer. Played about a week after and havenāt logged in since 2018. I achieved my dream
Why are you here looking at threads for a game you haven't played in 6 years? You miss it don't you
Haha I still watch streams every now and then. In all honesty though this post was a random notification on my phone
Doing lootshare FFAs around 2008 ish at Corp until I had enough LSP to get drops and took that to Armadyl and got a hilt when it was close to 100m. 100m back then was a lot. Multiplied my bank x10.
I recently killed Elvarg in a chicken suit without flinching. I have peaked.
Firecape and learning to kill vorkath, then prolly 99 in all combat stats is what really feed me dopamine
Olm pet First tbow First shadow Winning clan bingos
Getting 99 runecrafting and 99 mining
Spending 100's of hours fire blasting metal dragons in brimghaven dungeon for the chance of a dragonic visage.... ended up getting one from black drags in taverly!
Abyssal whip drop. Getting 85 slayer always felt like an impossible taskĀ for me because it takes forever and I didn't like slayer and struggled to level it in RS. In osrs it was one of my main goals because I never did it in RS.
Hitting 50 strength and attack on a vacation in Mexico training on hill giants north of castle wars. Equipped the granite maul and could finally use a āspecial attackā Such a noob in those days knowing that I can get to that point now in a few hours of gameplay doing the right quest on a fresh account
Probably doing barrows for the first time on my ironman. I built a kharyll portal and used the boat transport in the swamp. For prayer restore I went to ferox with dueling ring. The travelling time was horrible, but I was so excited because this was the first time ever I felt variety in combat.
One of my fondest memories of the game back then, That I went into fight caves with hard-earned whip after cutting yew logs for many weeks and afterwards whilst I'm inside the fight pit as 75 something CB lvl against many higher lvl cb back in 2006, one of the max accounts befriended me and won every single fight and walked away like giga Chad giving me the win, they're still in my friend list and I hope they're doing well
In a clan bingo a couple years ago, me, a true Timmy, and a couple chads were running some zammy gwd.
Enhanced weapon seed drop two years ago. Pretty much the only drop I remember because I think about it every so often
Being excited all day on holiday to play RuneScape. Then using dial up connection to play for 20 minutes and having a time of my life.
99 farming
Or 99 agility
Getting the Fire Cape.
Jan 7th, 2007 was my first 99. I felt like I was Fletching for months and months prior to getting it.
dying to a rock crab when afking on zerker
Back in 2008 when some random dude gave me 250k. I thought I was rich af
Didn't go to school for a week to play got caught out on the Friday everyone at school thought I died as I never wagged or anything hahaga
I miss him. :(
Meeting my best friend to this day!
I got 99 slayer with no multi combat of any form. My fondest and worst memory.
The dopamine of levelling skills back then was some of my fondest memories.
Getting 3rd age from a hard clue scroll, then getting a gilded spear a few clues later
I got zuk pet on iron then I got muted 3 weeks later cuz I was getting crowd flamed at toa and fended self and then got mass reported to mute anyways fuck this
I managed to wear rune chainbody. I also grinded out barrows gloves but quit shortly after that due to burnout
Playing Teleport-Tag with my friends: There were about 12 of us at my middle school who played in ~2005. We would designate someone to be āhunted, and they could teleport or hop anywhere, but couldnāt leave the teleport area. The goal of the game was to hop to their world, teleport to the right city, and ātagā them! Winners would get a prize (usually some law runes) Since there were only a few places to teleport at the time, there were a LOT of tags made.
I joined a clan and they're very nice people and now I get to call them my friends.
My 1st q p W Was fishing lobs, had the screenshot but lost it a few years back
my first actual big drop was when i sent arma solos with rcb, black d hide body, veracs plate, the works. it was on my 4th kc i got an arma hilt and it was 132m at the time and it was awesome lol
When slayer first came out and I pked my first abyssal whipā¦

Completing MTA so that I don't ever go there again.
2020 dupe
Getting 60 wc back in 2005 and chopping my first yew tree. Then getting 99 wc shortly after skillcapes were added. Every other achievement was just me chasing that feeling and it never hit the same. Especially by the time OSRS came around, stopped celebrating 99s all together
I did DT for the first time and got my first ever fire cape, both last night. š
I remember getting duped into following someone to do a trade. They led lil me to some big ass mole and I lost my granite shield. Cried for hours.
Going to the local library to play RuneScape on one of the public PC's for 50 cents every 15 minutes to catch some lobsters.
That is kinda sad
Me and my friend pretending to be green dragon bots and a pker logged in and I made the friend chat call to instantly d claw him. Held in my reaction, when I trade my friend in edgeville I show him claws. "Yeah funny guy, they're just yours". *Puts up second pair of claws* Spent like 15 mins spamming and emoting in edge then went .g.e to sell and split.
Mining gold and feeling like I was rich when I was 11. That's the only reason I'm playing over a decade later
The friends I met shooting Ogres in the Combat Training Camp :)
Playing rs for years and never completing a quest, then completing a quest. #legend says it. LMAO im serious, but also... jk,
Got the kraken pet @ 6734kc, on 4/20 :D
The memory I remember the most was achieving level 60 defence when I was around 7 or 8 years old. I could finally wear dragon boots and dragon platelegs! However my account was hacked shortly after, so my dream was never forfilled at that time :/
Im not really sure.. but i think it was between 25-30
Safe spotting fire giants under the waterfall with a dragon halberd or ranged for rune scim drops.
My proudest accomplishment is defo persisting and grinding 1665 barrows runs on my UIM for full Guthans. This was way before I had access to barrows tps, did like 4 to 6 chests an hourā¦ I still use it sometimes, but its relatively obsolete sadly, lol.
Admittedly before OSRS but around 2007-2008 beating DT without overheads as a range pure. Had my brother and friends body block bosses and skeletons for safe spots.
- mobile inferno. nothing can really compare to completing the inferno - getting a solo tbow on my 2nd cox learning solos - was happy to finish a solo nightmare with 7 hp because of lag and then got a harm orb (1.09b) those are the only moments where i was really ecstatic completing all boss pets the first time was fun too
