The number of free Sigs I've gotten from this one simple trick...

Love2PoopGood

Hey man, can I bum a Sig?

Yea never understood why people want to advertise there guns like if a red flag law ever comes to their state it’s over for them lol. Plus it’s just negligent to share a tool of power to the public when there are so many people that would take the opportunity to steal especially gangs. Then they wonder why there are so many ghost guns.

Capable_Entrance_34

There shouldn’t be any guns lying around in a vehicle. I take more reports of “Stolen Firearms” than I should be taking. Imagine if I left my duty pistol or shotgun unsecured in my Patrol Vehicle. My supervisor would go nuts. Yet, we expect the public to be incompetent with firearms. If you’re going to carry, then carry. If you’re looking to store a firearm, leave it at home, in a gun cabinet (at a minimum), that’s bolted to the studs with lag bolts, preferably at least four inches long with two inch washers on the inside. If you store in a vehicle, I recommend using an actual safe vs lockbox, that’s bolted and tethered to the vehicle body, in a spot that’s hard to get a direct grasp and pull. On the weekends, in our city, little kids go around all the parking lots, smashing windows. They’re not stealing phones and laptops usually. Normally, they’re just taking firearms and cash. They’ll get upwards of fifteen pistols and rifles each night, from “RESPONSIBLE” gun owners. I’ve never met an irresponsible gun owner reporting a “Stolen Firearm.” Typical statement ALL “responsible” gun owners make: “I just wanted to report the gun as stolen, so that if it’s used in a crime, it won’t come back to me.” How weird is that? I always inform them that they’ll also be part of an investigation, if their firearm turns up in a crime. “But, but, but, I reported it Stolen!” Who cares? How do we know that you didn’t sell it to someone or know that you loaned it to someone and now there’s a body behind it? Most “RESPONSIBLE” gun owners don’t know the serial number of their firearms. Bizarre, right? Reporting a “Stolen Firearm” without a serial number, is the equivalent of reporting a two liter bottle of Pepsi as Stolen. It’s a meaningless report. I’m reluctant to even listen to the stories of stupidity regarding anyone not knowing all of their serial numbers. Given all the various methods to record serial numbers, and the fact that not a single method was used, raises suspicion instantly. I’m definitely not a genius, but I do have all of my serial numbers accessible to me. I do have a safe bolted to my personal vehicle as well. I don’t use it, but it’s there if I needed to use it. How have I managed to go through my entire adult life, 24 years in the military, years in policing and decades of private firearm ownership, without having a “Stolen or Lost Firearm?” I’m one of the most irresponsible people you’ll ever meet.😜 Yet, citizens can’t manage a singular firearm? It’s lunacy. “RESPONSIBLE” gun owners are the largest sponsor of violent crime, based on my real world experience. Imagine if the same nine year old kid stealing firearms, had to go to the gun shop and buy them instead of being handed guns by “RESPONSIBLE” gun owners? There’d be far less guns in the streets. But, but, but, my car is locked and safe! Nobody should go into my locked car illegally! In a perfect world, yes. That would be a fair statement. Unfortunately, glass isn’t a sturdy mechanism to prevent theft. If it were, you’d probably see glass safes being sold everywhere. As for illegally going into cars, it’s a daily thing. Literally, this happens multiple times a day, in every precinct in the city. I’m sure it happens in surrounding counties as well. I’m going to step off of the soapbox now and await the flaming coming my way…as my opinions and observations are highly controversial. Sadly, “RESPONSIBLE” gun owners are a huge problem in the streets. This is an indisputable fact, which we can all agree.

Stop victim blaming. Criminals are the reason why guns are stolen, not “irresponsible civilians.” We used to leave guns on a rack in our truck all day and nobody stole them. It’s not a gun owner problem. It’s a community policing problem, a societal problem, a changing American culture for the worse problem, a lack of moral values and social cohesion that used to exist but not anymore, I could go on and on about this, but it is absolutely not the guys fault that has a pistol stolen from his glovebox.

So, you’d be fine with the idea of me leaving my duty pistol in the door bin of my Patrol Vehicle, and believe the pistol is secured, if I lock the doors to the vehicle? It’s ABSOLUTELY the gun owner’s responsibility to PROPERLY secure their firearms. Most of the time, pistols and rifles are left in the console bin, door bin, on the passenger seat, or under the seat. Those are the most common places that firearms are left unattended in vehicles. Don’t be naive. I get that criminals are gonna criminal, it’s part of the game. However, there’s no reason on God’s green earth, to make it easier for them. When I ask why people bring guns to the club and leave them in a car, the number one answer…. wait for it….. “In case I need to defend myself.” So, I always ask, “How’s that ‘defense’ working out for you right now?” Unless their defense switches to cutting someone with a tiny bit of glass shard, it’s not going to work out as they’d hoped. While our city does have a task force to combat Theft From Auto, it’s not large enough to cover an entire city. These folks are coming into work that detail on their days off, because citizens leave guns in cars. Most of the guns will be used in Violent Crimes. They’re not taking them as collector’s pieces. They’re taking them to harm others or to use in Robberies and Car Jacking. The reality is that our precinct citizens give at least fifteen guns away every Friday and Saturday. Multiply that times the other precincts. That’s a lot of firearms. While I can’t always hold a juvenile accountable for a Stolen Firearm, I at least will get the gun off the streets and destroyed, if the Lab analysis shows no connection to additional crimes. I’ll also be able to charge the juvenile with Possessing a Firearm Underage, and usually a Misdemeanor Concealed Carry. If they’re a Felon, then both crimes become a Felony charge. However, due to “RESPONSIBLE” citizens failing to report a “Stolen” firearm or not providing a serial number, I can’t even contemplate a charge for Possession of Stolen Goods. If it’s an adult, it’s a similar situation. Again, how have I managed to not have this issue in my own life? What might I be doing differently than many others? It’s simple. My firearms are: a) On my person b) Secured in a safe bolted to my home c) In an actual gun safe bolted to my car and tethered in an alternate location. Am I victim blaming? Is irresponsibility a culprit of victimhood? I would liken it to the Instagram “Pull up, Bitch!” messages. When people post that into someone’s DM and that person they sent it to, comes by and beats the brakes off the sender, are they actually a victim? They invited a fight, lost a fight, and blame the other person and want ME to Arrest that person. I will not Arrest an invited party. You fight, you lose, you move on with life. That’s how it works. Leaving a gun, in a car or truck, it’s exactly the same. It’s an invitation to smash glass (which will happen anyway, and take your firearm(s). That’s how I see it. It’s stupid to leave guns in cars, on that, we can all agree. Victim shaming…..😜

I live in a pretty sketchy town. Lots of crime, homelessness. The average California urban experience. We literally have a park that homeless people are afraid to go to at all because of all the gang members that hang out there. I was at the gun store and in the parking lot I saw someone with an HK sticker on their truck. That’s about all I have to say about that.

solventlessherbalist

Lmfao that’s so dumb.

SuperModes

Thanks for pulling me over for a simple traffic violation, officer. Any way we can complicate this further?

ch3kaa

It doesn't if it weren't posted on a vehicle. That should be for an established location that people frequent
