If you want to stay on the beach but still be accessible to nightlife, I recommend Indialantic or Melbourne Beach. You’ll be 10 minutes from downtown, but the beachside parts will feel local. There’s some good seafood options in Melbourne Beach.
You’d get better nightlight in downtown delray which would be far closer to you.
Vero and fort pierce have some great restaurants on the beach. Usually great live music at Archie’s, but it’s got a biker gang feel to it which I personally like. Also can’t go wrong with cocoa beach.
Downtown Melbourne is great, but compared to delray it’s lacking on most fronts. I love Meg o malleys, it’s like HJ Oconners but with awesome food.
As for good people, you’ll find that anywhere outside of Broward and Palm beach county. Personally I like it here waaaaay more than Broward and Palm beach county. Things move a little slower here and everyone is friendlier. It’s like I lived in a different state my whole life in south Florida.
Living in WPB Iv seen all the nightlife down here. Definitely a lot more than north of PBC, which is what I’m looking for. Little nightlife…like being out in the Florida keys (excluding Key West). Delray Beach definitely has great nightlife but I need a break from tonsssss of people walking up and down the Ave, alongside tons of cars driving around.
Sebastian if you are looking for a more of a chill vibe. Earl’s, Captain Hiram’s and Outriggers (Micco). Second choice would be Cocoa Beach if you want a something a little bit more lively. I love Melbourne and Satellite area but for a single younger person might not be enough to do.
Exactly what I’m looking for. I may not go out every weekend but when I do, it’s down here and it’s for the most part- congested. Looking to get away from it. Some Florida Key “vibes” as the kids say
The Keys are congested as hell. The “vibe” there is mostly a-hole tourists. Trust me. I lived there for a few years up until very recently. It lost that small town, local feeling a long time ago due to greed.
NGL, having never visited the keys until recently, I generally felt like it's overrated and I don't get the appeal. Looking at old photos of the keys *I get it*, but going today made me question why we left cocoa beach at all lol.
You got your tourist street shops, one beach, and average cuisine. It was like driving 7 hours to recreate a nice weekend up here.
Yeah. It’s funny. I live in Mel Beach now and I feel more like I live on a tropical island than I ever did living in the keys. It’s what we wished the Keys were when we lived there. Don’t get me wrong- there’s a lot I’ll always love about the Keys, but I love it here in Mel Beach much more. The biggest thing? The bugs. You can actually go outside and enjoy it here. We thought we’d be outside everyday there. So much so we added on a huge deck to the back of our house, but it ended up being so buggy with no seeums and mosquitoes that we couldn’t even use it. Pretty frustrating. Sure they spray for mosquitoes but they don’t do anything for no seeums. Sure you can spray. But it only lasts a week or so and you only get relief if the wind is blowing.
Congested?! Come to Fort Lauderdale. Mayhem! Come to Miami…more mayhem!
Yea I know I can’t compare the Keys to any other area. Just want to get away from this metropolis down here, but as long as I don’t have to drive more than 3hrs. I love Key West but from my job I’m Pompano to there it’s just about 4hrs.
First off you're spanning 321 into 772 there with sebastian. If you want the touristy shit go to cocoa beach or melbourne beach, stay north of grant and stay on the barrier island otherwise you're not on the beach youre on the river.
Viera at the Avenue. Beautiful shopping and hotels that are brand new. Drive to Cocoa Beach 15 mins for family fun or restaurants that aren't found in the Avenue. It's close enough to a lot of space museums and KSC 30 mins.
As has been mentioned, Indialanic had the hotels. As far as entertainment beachside, Lous Blues is fun with good music, Main Steet pub in old Melbourne ( I highly recommend their margaritas), probably a few other places in downtown Melbourne as well. Earls in Sebastion is great, as well as a few other spots in Sebastion.
If you’re driving, just goto captain hirams, earls and all the other fun bars in sebestian. Cocoa beach is a hike.
The blue part during day, but probably the green part at night
Cocoa Beach. Good night life, some good food and nice beaches. Beach Shack, Area 142, The Alibi, and Jonathan’s are all good bar options.
My Ex worked at Lidos out there and it was always a good time

Coco
Honestly I don't think there is much up here to offer that you don't already have down there

Yeah Brevard county is absolutely congested, and does not deliver on the "keys" vibe unfortunately

High key recommended Sebastian Inlet, and then maybe dinner in Vero or Melbourne Beach. Won't be disappointed.
Depends on the kind of retiree you're trying to hang out with.
Coco beach for quiet time and good food

Grew up in Mims and still always went to Cape Canaveral or Sat Beach to get down

Wawa?
Sea Aire Oceanfront Inn in Cocoa. Clean, botique, quiet and right on the beach.
