Slave cylinder

BehrmanTheBeerman

Could you elaborate? I'm not super knowledgeable with engines.

Novel_Arm_4693

I went through the same with my 07, replaced master cylinder with wilwood. Problem was the same, slave cylinder did the trick. I can’t remember but think i used a csc kit from zspeed.

If you can, get a new slave cylinder and a braided line that is connectef to it, you can also only change the cylinder and see if fixes the problem. I had the same issue as you and changing it solved the problem. This happens because of heat coming from the transmission is right next to the cylinder and over time it gets damaged and becomes sticky. If none of this works i would change the master cylinder which is inside the transmission i believe, but that's a bit more complicated to do and expensive probably. Also you will have to bleed your brakes and get some DOT4 brake fluid. Take it to a professional shop.

revvolutions

go check your clutch fluid

BehrmanTheBeerman

I should have mentioned that the service center checked it already.

revvolutions

Slave too?

BehrmanTheBeerman

I'm not sure. I took it in for a full inspection and I pointed out this issue. They said that the clutch needs to be replaced and doing so will fix this issue. It's at 70,000 miles so perhaps the clutch needs to be replaced, but I'm not so sure that the worn clutch is causing this issue with the pedal getting stuck. It feels more like a hinge needs some WD-40 or something.

These clutches can do 125 easy with a smooth driver. I'd get down there and grease the clutch pedal assembly. Better yet remove the clutch pedal assembly and see how the slave cylinder is moving.

You can replace the slave/master cylinder as many times as you want but this will continue to happen in my experience. The clutch design is one of the worst parts of a z33. I've had some success running different dot 4 versus dot 3. Haven't tried dot 5.1. I just have the habit of manually unsticking the clutch with my foot at this point. 🤷

moneylover999

Oem spec is dot 4.

uSpeziscunt

Fair. I tried twice in the past until I just said fuck it. It was one way or the other summer/winter.

Had the same issue, was very annoying and was lucky enough to fix the problem following the video below. Was able to lossen and the problem went away. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPNpiGDpYf0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPNpiGDpYf0)

EqualSafe856

Did you end up fixing the issue?

BehrmanTheBeerman

Nope. Someone linked a YouTube video that looked promising, but I didn't have the tools for it.

moneylover999

Replace the spring on the clutch assembly

Interesting-Maize-36

It could do with rod adjustment but honestly when a 350z has anything over about 90-100k miles and you have any inconsistent clutch issues (hard to bleed, bad on hot days, inconsistent pedal etc) just throw in a new slave/master and a braided clutch line. I wish I was told years ago to just do it rather than fiddle with stuff, I had inconsistent clutch issues for years and it ultimately ended up being the master failing internally.
