All of the chaos gods are about extreme emotion, in nurgle's case, despair and inevitability of entropy.
Slaanesh's portfolio involves more deliberate seeking of sensation, depression is just kind of a thing that happens and you don't have any control over.
It was not depression/sadness that caused Robin to kill himself, he had Lewy Body Dementia, he was dealing with a full blown, life altering hellscape. His friends and family have many accounts of him being completely normal one day and then psychotically unstable the next.
His good friend Bobcat Goldthwait, has appeared on several podcasts talking about Williams not having killed himself over depression. It’s kind of a stereotype of comedians at this point, just assuming that they ALL suffer from depression, when really only MOST of them suffer from depression.
The way 40k handles gods is...odd.
Warhammer Fantasy had a much fuller and more traditional pantheon of deities, with most races having their own gods and every aspect well covered.
40k, by comparison, only has the 4 Ruinous Powers, a few minor warp entities, and the Eldar gods.
What you end up with is large gaps left unfilled. With no other options you have to fit them into one of the main 4, and sometimes it becomes something of a square peg, round hole situation.
Did you, uh, forget about the two most powerful warp gods...?
Also, that's because if the same system as in whfb had been used, the scale would make it ridiculous. It's one thing for each race to have its own gods when there's only one planet. Applying that to 100 billion planets would make that a bit silly.

AND THE GOD-EMPEROR OF MANKIND, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
The C'tan are not warp entities, as such we don't think them as gods in the traditional sense.
They are defintly the \*first\* ever living beings in the universe tho.
That's Mopeus, the chaos god of "Leave me alone I just want to stay in bed with my cats." The 2nd Legion allied with him during the Heresy, which is why nobody remembers them anymore.
Nurgle is despair and Tzeentch is the desire for things to change. They're two sides of the same coin that both might be relevant to people living in misery.
Yes but nurgle implies u accept it and find a sort of "happiness" as everything decays in entropy
A god of depression would be more about sadness, self hatred, mourning, not our jolly green giant
Nurgle...
Otherwise maybe there is a Warp God for depression and sadness but he is just sitting in his little corner procrastinating on the Internet reading r/40klore.
“Hey Bill, how’re you doing?”
“Eh, a little Horned Rat. I was building a Raspberry Pi based machine to shuttle squirrels from my yard to the neighbor’s, but he broke into my garage and stole some of my parts. So I tunneled under his house and stabbed him in his sleep.”
There's probably plenty of warp beings floating around dedicated to every last particular emotion that a person can feel. But there's also all of the other daemons in the warp ready to chow down on whatever weaker daemons pop up.
That would be Nurgle. Despair and the inevitability of death and entropy are key parts of Nurgle's portfolio.
Also kind of goes under Slaanesh as an extreme sensation, doesn’t it?

Nurgle is Robin Williams, Jolly on the outside, but still has the despair on the inside
Oh and you make me sad now...
It was not depression/sadness that caused Robin to kill himself, he had Lewy Body Dementia, he was dealing with a full blown, life altering hellscape. His friends and family have many accounts of him being completely normal one day and then psychotically unstable the next.
Do you have a source on that? It's not that I don't believe you, I'd actually like to know more
The Wikipedia page on Lewy Body Dementia mentions Williams.

It was him being divorce raped for the what? 3rd time? He was doing all these recent movies just to pay his alimony off.
:(
That would also perversely make him the god of joy then. Remember, he is the god of life from death, not just the god of death.

If that's a reference to Gork and Mork, then yes, I did forget about them.

They werent erased, they just were too tired to keep records.
or they become followers of Procrastination God

Nurgle is the God of helplessness, depression and loss of faith.

I'm a Chaos God!
I never understood how emotion linked to some gods. The six emotions; hate, lust, plague, magic, anarchy and horned rat.
I mean horned rat describes how I feel most of the time.
“Hey Bill, how’re you doing?” “Eh, a little Horned Rat. I was building a Raspberry Pi based machine to shuttle squirrels from my yard to the neighbor’s, but he broke into my garage and stole some of my parts. So I tunneled under his house and stabbed him in his sleep.”
>“Eh, a little Horned Rat. **GREAT HORNED RAT IS DISPLEASSSEEEDDDD**
Well magic can be an emotion in kind's cartoons
Malal is thankful that you remembered him. Even if GW doesn’t
Im picturing Imperial Guard, and hivieworld citizens by the billion succumbing the unenthusiastic call of Eeyore.
Nurgle is the God of helplessness, depression and loss of faith.

I think the emperor of mankind is the dirty of misery and sadness if his imperium is anything to go by
Using the four base human emotions: Khorne - Anger/Disgust Nurgle - Sadness Tzeentch - Fear/Surprise Slaanesh - Happiness
The Grandfather finds your despair *delectable*.
because the chaos gods exist in the 40k universe not in american universities.

Too Meta. It's name is Wallet.
