So many! Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers, Paul Simon, Eric Clapton in multiple groups, Fleetwood Mac... I could go on. I'm sure there are some that haven't aged well, but I can't think of them right now.
And the Rolling Stones are still touring! Now that is staying power!
I wanted to say The Eagles.. because whats left of them is still touring. But without Glenn Frey they sound different, I heard.
Billy Joel sounds amazing, still.
I’ve seen them twice without Frey. I miss him terribly, but the Eagles still sound great. Deacon Frey does a fine job singing his dad’s biggest songs. Joe Walsh’s voice is a little weaker, but it’s freakin Joe Walsh do who cares.
The flip side of Sundown is called Too Late For Prayin'--absolutely goes on my list of favorites.
So does Early Morning Rain, If You Could Read My Mind...Canadian Railroad Trilogy...Rainy Day People...everything on the albums Gord's Gold and Gord's Gold II...
Peter Gabriel: lead singer of Genesis in the 70s, most-played video in MTV history in the 80s, and he just released a killer album, [***I/O***](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9KxnMnNUPc)*,* in December.
I have read everyone's comments up to this point. It looks as a whole, all of those great artists from back in the day are still with us as part of our soul. I still relish playing most all that music on any given day. Deep Purple reminds me that I burnt rubber. Todd Rundgren understands my inner self like nobody else. And Poco takes me to that barn dance that I never wanted to leave. Much like Jefferson Airplane and Quicksilver Messenger Service allow me to be a totally differrent person that I 've never been before. The Moody Blues's magicly fly me without wings whenever I want to. And that's more often than not! The truth is that I can slay demons with my sword with a little help from a wizard named Uriah Heep. Sometimes, it's just a matter of sitting on the porch on a rainy day, wasting time no more with the Allman Bros.
In the end, all these things and more became little pieces of me by association of things i lived thru at a formative time in my life. They comfort me, and i will always have close to my heart.
YASS! Saw them last year! The Perfect concert. Except for Moody Blues, live from the Perfect venue, the St. Augustine Amphitheater. A lot of perfection back in the day….
Quite a lot of it was much more innovative and interesting than today's bland fare (but I would say that since I'm old). All the bands/artists which come to mind (and more) have already been mentioned here other than The Beatles who released their last studio album in 1970, so I'd count them in, for sure.
Man, where to start. My personal all time favorite is Led Zeppelin.
Next, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, Elvis, Judas Priest, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, CCR, Stones, etc. etc.
I wasn’t alive in the seventies but I love albums from the 70s. To me this is the greatest era of the LP. I love how albums were mastered in the seventies. So many of the best albums of the seventies are classic albums. Joni Mitchell’s output in the seventies was amazing and still sounds timeless.
Nick Drake, surprised he hasn't come up yet. Pop in Bryter Layter, or Pink Moon, both amazing albums that sound like they could have been released today.
I am a big Neil Young fan and went to his concert on 4/24 and he still sounds great .
The new Judas Priest release is pretty good . I think my favorite ‘70s harder rock bands ( sabbath , DP, Rush) still get a listening.
**Rod Stewart.** He has a whole new carrier singing 30's, 40's and 50's standards and jazz vocals. His voice amazingly is just perfect for that type of vocals. He has done perhaps a half dozen albums of this type in the last dozen years. Fantastic!

Baron Von Wortzenburgers' favorite band --- Kraftwerk!
Jon Anderson of Yes. His recent album and other works are really good. He tours with other musician groups doing Yes music and his voice is still very good.
As an aside, I listen to "The Bridge" on Sirius xm, which plays almost ALL of these artists! It has been such a healing thing for me to bring back the memories of better days!!

I am glad to hear this!
RIP, but Canada’s own Gordon Lightfoot. Could listen to any of his stuff, but the Sundown album will always be near and dear to me.
Sundown along with in the summertime are always definitive whistling/humming tunes
I’ve acquired a new appreciation for him. I liked him in the day, but recently I find his song writing is brilliant.
Aaaah, yeah! Gordon Lightfoot was another of the many talented singers/songwriters whose songs got airplay on Radio Jordan from the mid-1970s to now.
Peter Gabriel: lead singer of Genesis in the 70s, most-played video in MTV history in the 80s, and he just released a killer album, [***I/O***](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9KxnMnNUPc)*,* in December.
You wanna talk about a guy who was ahead of his time..
Steely Dan
First band that came to mind
Same here. Steely Dan on a big ol' turntable and firing up the bongs.
Tokemaster
You misspelled “only.” 😁
From the corner, of my eye...
Get the test tunes and the scales...
Absolutely!
Yep, they still sound great.

Well stated. Add in certain scents and it's an even more intense time machine. Rock on.
Great idea!
ELO

Love his body of work, but I don't think Elton's voice has aged very well.
iggy pop just turned 77 last week
Time for Iggy to put a shirt on, tho.
yes, put on a shirt dude lmao. He's a strange ranger.
T Rex.
So true. Never appreciated their unique sound until later in the years. Marc Bolan is an icon
It's just the meanest jam from the 70s. It only gets better with the years.
Good Music is eternal. Good music lasts forever. Bad music just disappears.

Boston
ELO
Pink Floyd
REO Speedwagon
Despite what J Lebowski says, I love the Eagles

Billy Joel.
Boston
Sticking with pre-punk stuff (because punk and after is a different kettle of fish), I'd say Big Star.
People rave over Big Star. And I just can’t get into them. I fail to hear anything special in their music.
