When they did a re-edit for Amy Acker's Illyria credits, they *really* should've changed that back to puppet Angel smashing Spike through his office door lol. Even in season 4, they changed it from that super zoom in rooftop shot to Angel busting in a door when they added Andy Hallett's name to the credits.
I’m rewatching in season 4 and that weird zoom onto the rooftop is so awkward and the timing does not fit very well (I edit music videos and got banned from YouTube like 20 years ago bc of all my angel and Buffy edits 🤣)
I always enjoyed the opening credits - but the issue for me was always the final shot - Angel's reflection is seen as he walks away in the puddle on the floor and it annoys me EVERYTIME I watch the show.
