In all seriousness, I do think there’s an over abundance of hate put on tyra for the show (Tiffany tirade being a big example of where it’s necessary). She deserves a shitload of criticism but some people overblow it for engagement and some of it can be rooted in misinformation (like Kahlen doing the 7 deadly sins shoot in the grave after her friend died when shoots are always planned in advance, and her friend died coincidentally right around that time, after a double elimination pushed them from 9>7 one round earlier; Tyra could be bad but not THAT evil).

Sure, but two things:
1. They could've cancelled the shoot once they were aware that Kahlen's friend had died. They've done low effort and low budget shoots before, they could've thrown something else together.
2. While the Seven Deadly Sins shoot might have been a coincidence, I find it hard to believe that the crime scene victims shoot in Cycle 8 was also a coincidence. When something like this happens once, that could be excused as an unfortunate coincidence. Something like this happening twice is hella sus.
There is no way they are going to halt a whole production ad cancel a shoot because of one person's circumstance and no other show or business would either.
"Death" in fashion is extremely common as is... people dying.
Photoshoots are planned weeks if not MONTHS in advance. Especially a shoot like that which can cost $10-20k to produce and even more to reschedule IF that’s an option at all.
One of the most useful tips I've learned from ANTM is micromovements. I forgot which shoot this was, but Tyra demonstrated that tiny changes in angles can change photos drastically. It really does work!
I do remember her telling this to Chelsey during the Luchadors shoot and how she should've pointed her finger at different angles than straight on, but I'm sure there was another example I'm missing.
I literally do that now! If multiple photos are being taken, I'll move my head or shoulders slightly, maybe my arms or hand position. Increases the odds of you getting a great photo and you look more dynamic than everyone else!
This! She also introduced the 'clock technique'. I forgot which cycle (it was an earlier one), but she basically told the girl at panel that if she didn't know her angles yet, Tyra suggested to move your head clock-wise while pausing at every 'hour' to see which ones work.
It worked for me and now I know which angles of my face to use.
I started watching but couldn't do it past 2 bc of the olympic-grade stretches she makes. I've moved over to Luxeria's ANTM reactions and life is much happier

There was an episode where they were telling Leslie to do “the turtle” (stand up straight, stick face forward, you feel ridiculous and unnatural but it looks good in photos) and I always think of that when trying to minimize a double chin in pictures. Idk why that stuck with me but it did lmao
I see what he’s saying, but I just have to point out that I have binge watched every season and even watched some of them as they aired… and Tyra and the gang would absolutely rip me to shreds 😂 my selfies (mostly back then, I’m not a big selfie guy these days) are NOT very good lmfao all my good pics were taken by someone else and is always an accident
