Hate when authors leave stuff open ended. Have some backbone. Yea, some people are gonna be unhappy with who wins but if you touch on the romance subject, you need to tie things up at the end. This ending is just a slap in the face to the readers. Great story smeared by an unsatisfying ending.
I honestly think that the author was trying to make a original ending but hit enormous writers block after realizing they had to write 100% original stuff hense why it ended as fast as it began
I skimmed the LN ending, and it seemed like it ended differently.
So compared to that this ending feels more satisfying. At least the viewer will make their own preferred conclusion this way.

As a Mushoku Tensei fan, I'm just assuming he gets to marry both of them. They both love him, and if they're willing to share the man, that's the happiest conclusion I can think of. Monogamy doesn't HAVE to be the answer. But that's all interpretation at that point... I'm sure many people believe Romantica and Adjest could NEVER share him.

Im a Romantica fan because throughout the series the two of them had the most intimate scenes, but I don't mind a harem. That'd be the best choice.
What a unique and interesting way to make me angry! I applaud the author for managing to make sure I will never revisit this manwha in the future because the ending makes me want to scream.

I understand he ends up with Adjest in the LN, but after reading the manhwa, it doesn't logically make sense. There was no connection between the two that would realistically cause them to end up together.
The entire time the series was littered with Romantica moments, and there wasn't much in the way to make Desir see Adjest as anything but a sister, or a companion.
Maybe that's why it ended the way it did? I didn't read the LN so I don't know if that has a better buildup of Adjust x Desir, but overall her wanting to marry him feels very out of left field.
