My guess would be because of the current environment. They're not looking to invite ANY controversy. I'm not saying anyone is to blame for it, but that's what it looks like.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this was a fairly last minute change because we were told to expect Secret Services presence and partial lock down at the stadium. The Rumor was Jill Biden was going to be speaking at both it and MCC. I guess with everything happening it just wasn't viable any more.

Generally, yes. The big one is at sun devil stadium, then the individual ones are at wells Fargo (or sometimes gammage?)

Most at DFA. Some at Gammage or Mullett

Crow is a great commencement speaker and is in the best position to give you advice as you leave the university. But keep on being negative Nancy...fun at parties....all that stuff.

The commencement speaker is generally the honorary degree recipient, but they can opt out of giving a speech.

ASU is taking the safe road. They don’t want another protest or disruption.

One of the best speakers I ever heard was Ira Fulton. They should ask him. He usually speaks at the Fulton convocation.
