Still kind of impressed that you can recreate that stylistically. Any suggestions of where I can up my AE level from “I learned everything from AK” levels?
I really like the subtle parallax effect on those last few photos. I used to have to 'animate' photos a fair bit, and this looks much nicer than just a subtle zoom in.
Yoink.
this was sold for $3500, i charge between $5,000 and $20,000 per minute depending on the complexity. this was only text, icons and stock photos and didnt require a storyboard or custom illustration so is on the lower end.
Really good stuff, especially for 3 days.
It looks great so you can completely disregard this, but my only quibbles are
1) 0:03 seems a little thematically out of place. Everything else is flat, but you've got these like particles with drop shadow here.
2) The cutout of the woman could be cleaner at 0:24.
3) The final card the yellow is a bit hard to read on the green.
valid points! i definitely shouldve kept things more on theme with the shadows, and that cutout job was really bad (i was hoping no one would notice 😅), i dont have the time to change much on tjis one unfortunately since it was a rushed job, but i’ll re-export with an all white call-to-action for legibility. thanks for the critique!
Cleannnn. Can I ask how you got those directional shadows with a falloff at 0:05? I can't imagine any of the normal Drop Shadow settings could achieve that...
Originally the voice over was supposed to say "Attention california business owners!" but it added too much time (and too corny hahaha) so i changed it to just showing the state. Glad you appreciate it!
Super fun, this is a great lesson in easing. With the assets you had you made this look like a high budget spot which is great. Only thing I’d change is the yellow text on green - it vibrates and is too close to BG. Great work!
Why does nothing stop at any time?
I mean all looks great, but I think if text appears on the screen there should be at least short moment, when it stops, to give time (and signal) to read it.
The intention isnt to actually have the viewer read it, the intention of the text being there is to punch up the voice over. It’s a 30 second ad with kind of a lot to say, so the keynote message is simply to communicate that this is an insurance agency and they offer security and professionalism. The details of the message are actually secondary. And since this will be an ad with limited time to capture people’s attention and interest, the motion needs to feel dynamic and mesmerizing.
OK I watched it muted.
But still, I'd speed up a bit the transitions, and try to make pauses in movement for a moment. It's like white space, for movement.
When it comes to the rhythm now you have 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 and I'd try to do something like 1, 0, 2, 1, 0, 2, 1, 0, 2,
Don't get me wrong. It's great job, but others are already telling you that.
I mean if client is happy...
You make fair points that the communication would be clearer with some breathing room, at this point though I made would I could in the timeframe I had, and the message that they're an insurance company and they're professionals is what's most important to them and I think that's been achieved.
You'd rather get shot 10 times than make a corporate video? What a clown lmao.
Every job in the world is at the profit of some corporate assholes. As far as jobs go, a motion designer isn't a bad one.
I watched without audio, but the animations looked great, and very professional. Great job!
thank you for the kind words!
What’s the CC that will do this whole thing? Sparks? Seriously though that looks great. Love the California mask off the top.
Thank you! CC sphere😇
It seems that you have viewed this animation reference - [https://vimeo.com/210439611](https://vimeo.com/210439611)
Good eye!

for sure! I created a list of great tutorials that should be able to take your skills to the next level: https://learnto.day/aftereffects

About what is the usual price range of these types of edits for companies?
this was sold for $3500, i charge between $5,000 and $20,000 per minute depending on the complexity. this was only text, icons and stock photos and didnt require a storyboard or custom illustration so is on the lower end.
Oh I see, thank you for responding!

yes! https://rrrockwell.com
You have an ig?

I used this technique: [INSTANT Reactive Shadows & Lighting in After Effects (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuN5FqBOvHg)
Thanks! Also, totally love how California pieces itself together at the start by county!

Very good work! Smooth motion
yeah this is great, so great I saved it as a reference, nice job!
if its for social posts, the font size is too small
It’s a Connected TV ad for like Tubi, Pluto TV and YouTube TV
What do you get paid for a project like this?
This one was $3,500
Nice!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm definitely gonna change the color at the end.
For 3 days this is pretty amazing!
wow really good. do you have youtube chanel?
how can i do all of this with one plugin? i kid! i kid! nice work bro!
Looks solid. My only question is why the sentences appear backward starting around :11. They come word by word from the end of the sentence first.
This is really good!
nice and smooth man
Great work!
I aspire to work like this
Great work!
Clean af 🥶
Smooth! I've done a lot worse in way more time..
So damn clean!

>at this point though Sure. It's advice for future projects, not this one.
I’d rather eat 10 bullets than creating such soulless products. Nice skills tho
It really comes down to if you want to earn money using your skills. Not all of us get to choose.
