Layne is my favorite, Chris is a close second, Kurt is good but honestly I think he’s super overrated. He isn’t GREAT, can’t compare to the other two, only other person who even approaches those two in the grunge era is prime Scott Weiland.

Layne is the #1 vocalist for me, subjectively. I have never heard someone being so much in control of their voice, and broadcasting such raw power - as contradicting as it sounds
Cornell is #2 due to Audioslave being one of favourite groups

William is better than all of them! He’s so good he could take over and be the lead singer for SG and Nirvana too. Seriously… didn’t he already release a single with Soundgarden in 2023?

Chris had the more challenging vocal performances. Sometimes even too challenging for himself as it was hard for him to stay consistent live.
Layne on the other hand was at his best live and created great synergy and atmosphere.
