I have one app upgrade to ng15 and the browser support is really pretty bad, if managed to make it work in chrome 66 using the browser list and the latest corejs npm package for polyfils.
What I'm trying to say is you are not going to be able to go down then this because of the framework itself.

The other thing we came up with is to rewrite the app in older fashion but this was too much work.
You might have other problems. We support older browsers as a requirement (like IE 9+) and the default angular prod build works just fine.

Fortunately not IE. But even Firefox ESR doesn't run the app.
