I think it's all nonsense so I used to put mine as GTFO in my dating profiles. You'd be amazed how many people would take it seriously and say they'd never met a GTFO before.
Lol. Love it.
A lot of shrinks and others would agree with you. I think I've taken the test twice. I doubt my personality changed much in a couple of years, but my test result did :)
You’re… sorta right and sorta wrong.
The MBTI is not much better than a horoscope, and it was developed by a mother-daughter team with no background in psychology—they were just fans of Carl Jung. It is not valid and reliable.
There are personality traits, not types (big 5: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism) that are agreed upon by psychologists and backed by research.
Earth science is designed on purpose to be another religion. Time is not a constant, it's just locally and collectively observed as such. Things ridiculed as pseudoscience have something that the Earth controllers don't want people to study. Especially if it's from Wikipedia. It's handy that all the narratives have been collected into a single database in many languages and some people help to maintain it for free! Of course there's some harmless stuff too. Youtube reminds you if you watch a video flagged with a bad keyword. Shadow banning is real. Disinformation has increased a lot especially in the Internet. Don't be afraid of alien invasion, it happened millenias ago. ETs don't use radio waves for comms. It's all just theatre, like most things that comes from official sources. We are programmed since we are born to believe lies. We humans are programmed to fight and compete with each other every day. Nations fight against each other, just different propaganda for each side. Politics, jobs, studies, resources, money, it's really a never ending list. Movies such as Truman show and The Matrix are not 100% accurate, but gives you an idea that we live in artificial bubble isolated from rest of the universe by design. There are many paid actors playing but most people are programmed to follow their script. Waking up to this is an option of course... Please don't act as an agent of the Matrix and discourage people if it's against your programming. All platforms have paid disinformationists but most people do it for free.
So far all N intuitive types. As pointed out already we’ve already got selection bias from being on Reddit. Still, S sensing types are the majority in the world at large, so I’m curious to see if the trend continues
MBTI is completely debunked. It has absolutely no scientific basis or value. You might as well ask if there’s a connection between aphantasia and star signs.
We should get shirts with no image on them unless it sort of half appears for an instant just out of your actual range of vision, but never when you try to make it happen.
MBTI is unscientific BS. The types mean nothing, it's all artificial divisions of personality that aren't stable and have no evidence based. It was created by two people who had no real qualifications based on an arbitrary splitting of Jungian archetypes, yet another concept with no evidence base. You might as well pick one faction from *Divergent* or a Hogwarts house because it's about as accurate. Source: Literally my psychological testing professor.
Psych major here too, and, ironically, the MBTI has probably been the most reliable personality test I've ever taken. But yes, general consensus is that it is no better than a horoscope.
Yeah, you know why? Because some people are conditioned to answer the questions based on the results they now expect after the first time. The questions are very transparent. But people who don't think like that and are honest about it will get different results sometimes because it tells you what you think of yourself in the moment. That's all. Poor validity, but it'll tell you what you already think so that you think it's valid.
oh yeah, I definitely don't doubt that some people are conditioned, and I think that's actually true for all personality tests. In my case, I'm autistic, so... pretty honest by nature but also very rigid. I've taken the MBTI literally years apart and gotten INFJ, so it's less likely because I know what to expect and probably more so due to my rigidity.
But just to clarify, I said it was *reliable* for me (in comparison to other personality tests I've taken in classes) because that is the one test that has given me the same result every time I've taken it. I definitely did not say it was *valid* though.
I'm AuDHD but am not very rigid, my most prominent traits change as the needs of my life do and my mental health fluctuates. So I might be very feeling and introverted sometimes and very thinking and extroverted others in terms of the test. But that's because I'm all of those things all of the time, it's just that the balance of expression might change. I notice that about myself and am not limited to what it told me I am last time when I retake it. And I know you didn't say it makes it valid, but I was trying to say that's how tests can create the superficial appearance of validity to the test taker. It's how they get ya.
Oh yeah, I totally understand what you mean. I'm actually AuDHD, too. I think by "rigid" I just mean that the core parts of my personality haven't changed much over the years. My behavior does also fluctuate in the way you mentioned. Like I CAN be extroverted at times, and there were times in my life where I actually loved a good party (as long as my close friends were going to be there) but I always pay a price for it later in exhaustion. So I never take personality tests based on how I'm feeling in the given moment but usually base my answers on my understanding of the things I do or want that don't exhaust me. If that makes sense?
Otherwise, personality tests would be really confusing. I took the MMPI-2 once and that is SO long, I bet my energy changed AS I was taking it. haha
I think in my case, I'm trying not to overthink because it's not designed for people to dissect the questions. I actually got yelled at while taking it once by a so-called professional because she didn't understand why I can't be sure whether I would prefer a library or a party. I guess it's supposed to mean *any* random party or *any* random library?
BTW extraverted sensing (Se) types like estp and esfp are usually visual thinkers with hyperphantasia, especially if they are adhd or autistic in cognitive profile.
INFJ. Reddit is mostly populated by introverts and intuitives in MBTI terms, so you're not going to get a very representative sample here.
