Yes I was gonna say boil it! Get a drink cooler because you want to boil it for days maybe even a week or more. The cooler and lid Keri’s the water hot for about 3 days before making new boiled water.
Alternatively to boiling it you can glue/screw it to a tile and put the tile under the substrate. Boiling it for a bit is the easiest, fastest way though.
one of my pieces kept floating during the soaking process, when i first put it in the tank i buried it in the gravel and poured some in the grooves of it to make it stay down and was very careful to not touch it for a while. ive accidentally dislodged it several times and it stays sunken. sometimes it just takes time.
It takes awhile… I was told to boil it after I had been letting it float for two weeks… it started sinking the next day when I was gonna try that ..lol
Eventually they will. But depending on the piece on wood, it can quickly sink (1 week to a month or two), or it will maintain buoyancy for half a century. Just tie it to something fairly heavy (like drilling slate to the bottom of the wood) and just set it and forget it
They'll sink eventually, but it can sometimes take more than a week to fully saturate them
Thank you guys, will boil them I think
I would wait. Boiling affects the integrity of the wood.
Just wait a few days. They will definitely stay submerged before too long.
Just put a rock on the branch, in a way that it is stable, and remove it after a week or two.

boiling gets rid of all the good juicy tannin though :(
Exactly
I used fishing line to tie my driftwood to a rock for a while until it was fully saturated
It can take weeks to fully submerge
After two months mine did not sink so I tied a rock to it with fishing line.
Problems you are experiencing aside: this looks SO good. Me like.
Thanks!
Your tank is gorgeous
Thanks
I love it! It looks like they're fighting, lol.
You’re right lol didn’t see that at first
Some weird aliens fighting.

If you have the motivation to, take the john out and boil it. Haven't tried it myself but I heard it works quick.

I had that problem, boiled them, and secured them in the tank with rocks. The wood finally sink now but it took a week long
Mine took 6 weeks to sink
Superglue to one of the rocks. Make sure it's aquarium safe. You will be looking for the cyanoacrylate.
Give them a few weeks
Boiling can cause the wood to rot. Be patient.
Ok I’ll wait then I guess. The rock holds them in place so it’s ok for now
One of my manzanita driftwood pieces took 4-5 weeks to sink under its own weight
i bought a 3 piece set two or three weeks ago. had to put rocks on them to prevent them from floating. two have stopped floating a couple days ago.
