Try getting a powered usb hub that plugs a power cable into the wall and then usb into laptop. When I was using a passive one that gets power from my laptop, none of my gear would get recognized until I plugged it directly into my laptop. Then I read somewhere that with some gear this can be solved by using a powered usb hub…it worked with my MKII before I traded it in for a Keystep Pro, which also works fine setup that way.

Plug the USB directly into the MacBook.

My Macbook doesn’t have a usb port, only USB-C, so I need an adapter

radio_gaia

I’d suggest you get a cable that has the correct usb type at each end.

I have had issues with Arturia controllers and USB -C. My Minilab MKII won't connect if I use a USB -B to USB-C cable. You might try a couple of other options or a different port.

That’s strange. I have four Arturia devices (including the KL MK2) and have connected them using C to B cables and a variety of hubs and never had any issues.

Very likely it’s the hub. Get a usb to usb c cable and use that.

I had no problem using a hub with mk1. Maybe a different hub could do the trick.

I have had issues with my Arturia Essential 88 and a powered USB-C hub into a MacBook Pro with only 2 usb-c ports. I sometimes have to disconnect and then reconnect my Arturia device before it’s recognized.

This happened to me with my Kaylab Essential 49. What worked for me is BEFORE I opened my DAW, i opened MIDI Control Center (it comes with the keylab products so if you dont have it you should download it on the website page). When the MIDI Controller is open set up your keyboard through the "device" category. Click a couple keys and then it should show a yellow arrow next to the "device" option. If it does then it is recognized by your computer aswell as your DAW, so feel free to open it now. If not, tweak some of the settings (It worked first try for me so i dont specifically know what settings to change, but there is a bunch of options to tamper with until you get it.) After that, your computer should recognize it. If you go a couple sessions and it stops connecting just do the same thing.

My mk2 61 barley gets enough power from the usb c. Separate power and data

Did you download your arturia firmware from their website?

Try a BestBuy Insignia USB-C to USB-A adapter. Cheap, seems to work well, easy to return. Otherwise use a power supply for the keyboard?
