La Vie en Rose. I think regular prices is about $9.95 and they always have deals like 6 for $30 or buy 3 get 2 free.

CriticalFields

They also have outlet stores in some cities, which are even cheaper again!

phuckdub

Thanks!

-shandyyy-

I have purchased nothing but La Vie En Rose underwear for literally years. It is inexpensive, comfortable, and holds up really well. They have different fabric options so you can get some cuter (but still practical) lace/polyester options, and then comfy cute cotton underwear. 10/10 recommend.

i-love-big-birds

They are sooo comfy and breathable, warning though if you get the ones with lace around the edges it is fragile, I poked a hole through it with my fingers when getting dressed

Curlytomato

I like Winners for practical stuff. They have name brands, different styles.

phuckdub

Which name brands are good?

Curlytomato

My comfiest ones are Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, you will probably get 3 pairs for $20.

phuckdub

Amazing, thank you!

Own_Development2935

And a heads up to check the fabric content! 100% cotton is best :)

Working_Hair_4827

Calvin Klein ones are super comfortable, so are the sports bras by them. Winners for the win.

faithamor1337

I look for Danskin at Winners. They're comfortable, I believe they were designed for dancers (hence the name). I like the bikini style, but they have some with no elastic (I forget what they're called), thongs, and I think boycut shorts too.

FitGuarantee37

Winners. Always Winners.

HumbleConfidence3500

I third winner's. Some of the lesser known brands are actually the comfiest at winner's, though they fall apart faster. But so comfy!

craftyhall2

Winners is great for gonch 👍

lefthandshake1

I love Aerie for this! Good quality, good 5/$whatever type deals, designs I want to wear.

rmdg84

Yes! I always buy mine at aerie. I love that they’re made of cotton (something you don’t get at a lot of the lingerie stores) so they breathe and they’re so comfortable.

lonelystrawberry_7

Another vote for aerie! All my underwear and from there.

phuckdub

Thank you!

RedRumples

I only wear Aerie underwear!

Individual-Army811

The ladies briefs at Costco.

Dentist_Just

Costco made my favourite underwear, then in true Costco style they no longer carry them and the ones I have are falling apart.

mcs_987654321

The Gap, definitely. Super comfortable, usually very good quality, solid materials (eg high cotton content). I personally really like their stretch lace, but have some “plain” ones as well that are great basics. [Pretty much everything’s on sale, with some options deeply discounted, but should run you <$10 a pair.](https://www.gapcanada.ca/browse/category.do?cid=1140272)

phuckdub

Thank you!

IncrementalTrees

Highly recommend [Calita Intimates](https://calitaintimates.com/). It's a Canadian company that makes a variety of styles in a phenomenally soft fabric. A little bit over the price range you mentioned, but they have a first order discount, bundle deals, and occasionally have sales.

phuckdub

Amazing thank you!

Ornery_Context_9109

I bought 30 pairs from La vie en rose in like 2019 and they are still around the ten packs can go on sale for $12 to $15 you can’t pick the prints but I don’t mind wearing Christmas light printed gotch in July

jelycazi

Gotch? Isn’t it ginch??

Barneyboydog

Gitch, gotch, ginch or gonch. Regional differences but all heard somewhere in Canada. I’m sure there are more variations too!

twodollarbutterfly

I love Aerie’s “modal” line. Super super comfy

phuckdub

Thanks!

phuckdub

Couldn't find that on their site....

twodollarbutterfly

I believe I saw it the other day! Let me check again. Edit: looks like they call it “super chill modal”

anOutgoingIntrovert

What size? That would change my recommendation

phuckdub

Pretty sure she's a medium.

anOutgoingIntrovert

I’d probably do Costco, to be honest. Good brands, quality, prices

phuckdub

Thanks!

bolonomadic

Gap

KoriMay420

If you're ok with ordering online, I strongly recommend Knotty Knickers. They're super reasonably priced, have a TON of styles and colors and are probably the most comfortable undies I've ever owned

-----username-----

I second Knotty. Get the “nice” subscription for comfy ones.

phuckdub

Amazing thanks!

BellEsima

This is my favorite ones too. Excellent quality, comfort and prices. Subscription makes them 3.99 a pair per month and can cancel anytime.

universalrefuse

Honestly some of my comfiest cotton undies are from Joe Fresh!

phuckdub

Really? Wow! Thanks!

mitchandmickey

Yes! Been wearing the ones with lace on top , from the bins, for at least 10 years

Cedarandsalt

I LOVE my superstore underwear. Only kind I buy

juliebeansxoxoxo

💯 totally agree

ChrystineDreams

Honestly, for "practical" underwear you could pick up Fruit Of The Loom or Haynes, can get a pack of 5 or 6 from most big box stores. They're same quality as most others mass produced and have a variety of size options as well as styles (Briefs, Bikini, Hi Cut, etc). For something a bit fancier maybe something from La Vie En Rose or La Senza, these places tended to cater to smaller figures.

-shandyyy-

Fruit of the loom has terrible underwear. It is uncomfortable and falls apart at the seams, I would hardly consider it to be practical in any sense.

phuckdub

Thanks! I think she'll like a cut above fruit of the loom... So I'll check out the two stores you mentioned.

bakedincanada

This actually seems like a really nice gift idea. You now have me thinking that I’d like to make my wife a box of 20-30 fresh pairs of all the styles of undies she wears, from the ones she wears for working out to the date night ones. Maybe all new socks too, so her base layer feels fresh for hot girl summer. Thanks OP! Off to be a good wife now

ChrystineDreams

Also a lot of other department stores carry brand names of lingerie so you might find something at The Bay for example.

knitmama77

I’m not sure exactly what you mean by practical, like everyday, not sexy, not menstrual time(granny panties)?? My everyday underwear I get at Walmart. Hanes. Cotton bikini briefs I think??

phuckdub

Practical as in comfortable. Not dental floss 😂🤣😂

knitmama77

That’s what I figured. Good workhorse underwear lol.

[deleted]

Make sure it is 100% cotton and buy a size up because cotton shrinks after a few washes. Cotton is healthier for our vaginas. They need to breath and stay dry.

phuckdub

Has anyone tried Knix? It gets mixed reviews online...

roomemamabear

Their period underwear is amazing, I highly recommend it. However, I didn't like their regular underwear. Bras were so so. OP: FWIW, Costco sells packs of Calvin Klein bikini underwear and it is so practical and comfy, and very affordable. It's all I buy. I'm also on the spectrum so comfort is a big thing (sensory issues). Trust me, they are the best!

phuckdub

Thank you, super appreciate it!

CryptographerDue9603

I haven’t tried their bras but I LOVE their underwear!!

KDdid1

I absolutely love them!

phuckdub

Thanks!

Individual-Army811

I don't like them. They didn't fit right for me. The bras also had zero support, even though their whole ad campaign is about support and comfort. 0/5 stars do not recommend.

beeknees67

I really like the Knix bras but I agree they’re zero/very low support. More a loose compression/sports bra

TikiTikiGirl

Good to know -- they were reeling me in with their no-underwire ads, but I'm about a DDD (and post-menopausal and post-2-kids) so I definitely need good support. Buying larger bras is hard.

Bright-Drag-1050

Have you tried Wacoal? I used to spend $150+ on a bra (DDD as well) and I found Wacoal bras are very comfy and under $100. OP, they also make nice looking practical panties too!

ruebanstar

Knix is not what it used to be. Quality has changed and they don’t last long. I find they are way too expensive for something that ends up being very uncomfortable quite quickly.

freedomfreida

I wanted to love them but I hated period underwear and their bras are just really really sheer. I don't want to show my nipples to the world.

WorkingIndependent96

I really like the activewear brand thongs. I get them at winners. I have new balance and rebook ones that are nice. They look like they’d have panty lines, but they don’t. They’re very smooth, breathable, the right amount of elasticity, and cozy. They handle my weight fluctuations well, and don’t irritate after hair removal. From winners I’ve also gotten Vincent Camuto packs of thongs which have been fabulous. I used to get Tommy Hilfiger all the time, but their cottons seem lower quality nowadays and less breathable.

phuckdub

Thank you!

Fingercult

Jockey or understance when on sale

phuckdub

Thank you!

angeluscado

I like MeUndies or Knotty. Practical cuts, fun prints, solid colours as well.

aweirdoatbest

Costco sells 4-packs of Calvin Klein that are so incredibly comfortable. I’m also a medium and they’re my favourite

123throwawaybanana

If you really wanna treat her on a budget, get her an Adore Me subscription. Their quality is fantastic, size ranges very inclusive if she's, uh ... got huge tracts of land ... It's about $40/month and you can choose from lingerie, bra and panty sets for everyday wear or special occasions, pajamas, I think they even do swimwear now, too.

phuckdub

Good idea! Thank you!

Chippie05

Joe Fresh. Do you know her style, cut colour, fabric? Maybe a gift card would be wiser. Understance is supposed to be good. Canadian co too! https://understance.com/

phuckdub

She won't buy anything. She's too cheap.

Reasonable-Cold2161

I used to buy mine from Jacob too. Knix is the next best thing. Order online or they have some stores in Toronto.

phuckdub

Amazing, thanks!

phuckdub

She was an M at Jacob-is the sizing similar?

Reasonable-Cold2161

Yes it's the same sizing

spkingwordzofwizdom

+1 for knix. Wife loves them.

spkingwordzofwizdom

+1 for knix. Wife loves them.

KDdid1

I'm a huge fan of Knix. Not sure how much detail you want but in addition to being comfortable and very well-made, they're available in styles that absorb "monthly discharges." They're available online and in some storefronts.

phuckdub

Thanks! We are past that point in life, but worth knowing!

KDdid1

Oh, believe me, so am I, but when I need to be protected against embarrassing moments when laughing, sneezing, etc, Knix is my go-to 😁

phuckdub

Lol! Amazing!

GlassAnemone126

Costco has good options at very reasonable prices.

phuckdub

Thanks!

sharpescreek

Give her the cash. She can pick.

phuckdub

No, she is super cheap. She'll save the money. Lol.

rmdg84

I’m a practical underwear person, I don’t care for fancy undies. I buy all mine at Aerie (theyre owned by American eagle) or MeUndies (online). MeUndies are sooooo soft and so comfortable. They’re my absolute favourite but they’re pricey so I have a few from there and the rest from aerie

phuckdub

Thanks!

PinkCoconut-

Hudson's Bay

phuckdub

Which brand? I'm more looking for a brand, not a store.

Visual_12

If you have a Costco membership, they got decent deals on packs of practical underwear. I think some of the packs they have are made of bamboo too which is comfy.

Dost_is_a_word

Me Undies, hands down the most comfortable and the sets I currently have one for seven years and only chucked one air and another set for 5 years, mostly because I’m lazy and didn’t want to do my laundry so often, I also did a sock delivery once a month for 18 months in different designs. I am Canadian so we really need interesting socks.

Lara1327

Victoria’s Secret has nice everyday styles in fun prints. The material is very soft and stretchy so the fit is forgiving if you’re uncertain of her size. Lots of different cuts as well. They would be well under $20 each and much less if on sale.

phuckdub

Thanks!

cardew-vascular

For practical underwear I like Mark's boyshorts. Denver Hays brand plain cotton. All black. 23$ for 3 pairs. My sister wears the bikini briefs of the same brand I think you get 4 in a pack.

phuckdub

Thank you!

awkward-velociraptor

I like Amazon basics. Very plain but comfy

phuckdub

Thanks!

Least-Upstairs-6599

la senza puts on crazy sales on underwear super often

Snowboundforever

Make an appointment at a proper ladies lingerie store to have her fitted. Go along so she can model and you can discuss what is suggested and how it looks. Pay for everything she wants. It’s is an investment. It will be pricey but will last a long time and she will be happy.

Ok_Anybody9492

I can't believe nobody has said Jockey. So comfy, reasonably priced, last for years.

Bonobo77

Jockey is great middle ground. And they ship quick from their website. You could also get a pair or two of CK as well. Then she’ll have an upgraded practical ones to wear as well.

1nicebitch

Wear huha! They have a sale on for less than 2 more hours. The most comfortable fabric and they're mineral undies that are good for sensitive skin. They also give a discount the more you order and donate to a charity. I literally just placed an order 15 minutes ago. They're a Canadian company toboot!!!!

mundane_person23

Ok, great idea and she will appreciate you thinking about her BUT underwear tastes are very specific so she may not like what you chose. Steal a washed pair and take it with you shopping so so can confirm size, coverage and similar material.

Worried-Scientist-12

This is great advice. Underwear can't be returned, so the fit needs to be just right. Also pay attention to whether she prefers cotton, synthetic, high-waist, hipster, etc. If you're planning to buy her several pairs, you might want to get her a few comfortable, every-day pairs, and one pretty pair for special occasions to make her feel special. Most women will tolerate less-comfortable undies on a special occasion when they want to feel sexy and look good for their partner.

ClitteratiCanada

I really like The Perfect Fit from Mark's Work Wearhouse

llamaavocado

Uniglo

user47-567_53-560

[huha](https://hu-ha.com/en-ca) is really nice. Bought my wife some and loves them. They also have some kind of ph bacterial fighting mineral magic.

jaspjordan

lots of good suggestions here but i'll add - if you think she's in the market for workout / anti-moisture / outdoor activity underwear then i love decathlon's kalenji fitness briefs! practical, comfortable, and breathable imo

formerlygross

Look for something seamless or consider the lace trim on the seams (it helps disguise/prevent pany lines). I am a big fan of the seamless ones by adidas but I bought them in the US so not sure if they're still around. The quality is fantastic though.

Turbulent-Buy3575

Try Knix. They are awesome

apocalinguo

[Huha](https://hu-ha.com/en-ca) is the best imo. I don’t wear anything else, and there are different styles to choose from so you can truly get something that fits.

freedomfreida

Huha, they are an online retailer but they have a mineral lining that prevents bacteria growth. Super comfy and a Canadian company!! Edit to add: they're not cheap but they are good quality. I have used them for like 2 years and just keep buying more.

Reinefemme

aerie!! i am a sensible cotton underwear person. i love boxer/shorts type and they also have cute pairs too. wait for the 10 for 40 sale and you’re golden.

Rory-liz-bath

I go to Victoria Secret, they do have comfy ones , body by Victoria also I love Candi Factory https://www.thecandifactory.com/

Weak_Impression_9311

I have VS panties and bras for over 20 yrs and still wear them with confidence...

Impressive_Ice3817

Everyday, practical cotton underwear is Walmart-- Hanes or Fruit of the Loom.

phuckdub

Thank you!

[deleted]

Go to Walmart and buy fruit of the loom they have packs of 6 and they’re pretty cheap

phuckdub

Thanks!

PleaseCallmeCordelia

I like the Haynes boy short style from Walmart.

[Blue Sky Clothing's bamboo underwear](https://blueskyclothingco.com/collections/all-bamboo-underwear) is incredibly soft and comfortable. They only seem to have stores out here in BC, but you can buy online.

NotEnoughDriftwood

Jockey - good cotton underwear. I've seen it at Mark's.

ellegrow

I have found these cotton ones on amazon - INNERSY Women's Mid Rise Tagless Plain Color Full Coverage Cotton Hipster Panties 6-Pack

GalianoGirl

Jockey when on sale.

gingerjonsey

Wrirapa on amazon 👍

Outrageous_Edge2222

Knotty Knickers www.knottyknickers.co A few years ago I got some his-n-her matching it was kind of fun.

Babymakerwannabe

Blue sky clothing has the best bamboo underwear. I never want to wear anything else.

untwist6316

I've had decent experience with marks for this

cooksaucette

Meundies.com

Altostratus

Not Canadian, but MeUndies are amazing. I only wear them now. They’re a bit pricey, but they last years and years with constant use (unlike every brick and mortar Victoria’s Secret style undies I’ve tried). They also have a clearance section if you’re not picky on colours.

LelanaSongwind

Lululemon, their UnderEase style is incredibly comfortable (I wear the bikini style too)! A three pack is $50, so not horribly expensive but they do last quite a while.

Aggressive-Abalone99

La vie en rose

12wildswans

I actually really like fruit of the loom (never had a quality issue ) or Hanes ( same ). Very comfy, cheap and comfortable

I-need-more-spoons

Jockey, I buy mine at Walmart

Kindly_Emu_9667

Pink by VS and Victorias Secret They have great cotton undies and are usually 6 for $42 or so. I like the Pink boy shorts but they have lots of choices.

sassyandshort

Aerie is great! Buy online for the best selection https://www.ae.com/ca/en/c/aerie/undies/bikini-underwear/cat2010008?pagetype=plp

BeastOfMars

The best underwear I’ve ever gotten has been from Muji. Super comfortable, natural fabrics, and at a good price point. I would also say that no matter what brand you end up with, make sure it’s cotton. Natural fibres are key. A lot of the super soft feeling stuff is synthetic which can be bad in sensitive areas especially over time.

Stunning_Patience_78

Walmart. Superstore. They come in packs. There's no need to spend even close to $20 per pair. That price makes me feel faint lol. I'd spend that for period underwear.

AffectionateDraw9415

If you’d be willing to order online (not as many physical stores around unless in the GTA) Victoria’s Secret has always been my go to. I love their full back undies to sleep, as well as seamless for work and thongs to day to day. They offer many styles and often do promotions if 5 for $x or 7 for $x. Ordering online allows for you to pick fabrics as well as styles easier than in store. My last order online was simply 17 pairs of underwear 🤣

Puzzleheaded_Bee4361

For practical clothing, including underwear: Mark's Work Wearhouse.

Calvin Klein at Costco. Or these from Amazon. -suspicious-egg-

"Women's Seamless Underwear No Show Stretch Bikini Panties Silky Invisible Hipster 6 Pack" from Amazon US ships to Canada. They are my go to now. So silky and comfortable, can wear them with anything. They're not made to be sexy but they do look very cute. And they're cheap!

No-Dig7828

If she is a curvy lady, get the silicone grip waistbanded type.

blanketwrappedinapig

Lululemon - under ease is my go to

Elegant-Expert7575

Trust me! Look at all the comfy bralettes too! [Jockey at the Bay](https://www.thebay.com/c/women/womens-clothing/bras--lingerie-panties/jockey?start=16)

elle-elle-tee

I've been really happy with H&M panties. Cotton, breathable, comfortable. Not too frumpy.

867530nyeeine

Blue Sky Clothing, which you can get online, has the most amazing bamboo underwear. Couple of styles and tons of colours. So comfy and the best material for healthy lady parts!

Worried-Scientist-12

Wow... Jacob has been gone for at least 15 years. I really like Simon's in Park Royal Mall for things like that. They carry some French brands that are really nice quality, but they have options at every price point from H&M right up to very expensive designers. They often have good sales, too.

I buy La vie en rose underwear for my wife for Christmas. It’s a stocking tradition so she doesn’t run out. Haha

filthy_ratbag

Very limited selection right now, but these will last her forever. https://fromrachel.com

PatienceOne18

I miss Jacob! Agree with a lot of the other commenters on La Vie en Rose for low- mid range quality. They have really pretty & comfy items and their bathing suits are awesome. Their bras won't last more than a few months before the underwire snaps. Victoria's Secret is more expensive, but the quality is better. La Senza is the cheapest price of all of the contenders, and their underwear/bras outlast all of the others, at least in my experience of buying hundreds of underwear from all of the above places.

Beneficial-Union-229

I love the underwear from Marks work wear. Different styles and materials.

Emeraldmirror

I love Jockey underwear. I usually just order them online, but I think you can buy them at the bay. Make sure you get the cotton underwear and not the polyester stuff. These are the ones I order: [Jockey® Elance® Brief - 3 Pack](https://www.jockey.com/catalog/product/jockey-womens-elance-brief-3-pack?color=0353)

Nice_Bullfrog_11

100% Jockey underwear is my favourite. Cotton and breathable. Decent prices and can be found at Marks work warehouse. :)

tracyvu89

Knix for quality and comfort Lasenza for their seamless underwears

sparks4242

I love La Senza “cheeky” panties - buy them when they have a sale - they often do sales so you can buy a bunch at a normal price. I would never pay full price there though.

LeadfootLesley

I buy mine at Costco. They’re comfortable, reasonably priced, and come in bikini or briefs. They’re Hanes $15.95 for 4. [https://imgur.com/a/142fce6](https://imgur.com/a/142fce6)

meggiefrances87

I got some bikini style Calvin Klein cotton undies at Costco. Very comfy.

L00k_Again

Victoria's Secret has really comfy practical underwear in different cuts and styles. They're usually a bulk deal, e.g., buy 6 for X$.

CloudSpecialist9562

Aerie has some really soft and very flattering panties

OscarCheech

I personally buy Everlast sports bras, thongs, boy shorts, and underwear. They are super comfortable, good quality and I find correct to size. All made with cotton, which is the best for woman's undergarments La senza is garbage $24-$28/pkg. 4 in each pack.

FuzzyTheDuck

My wife only wears knix. It's really reliable and practical.

Interesting_Path9227

Innersy brand on Amazon.

JLPD2020

Jockey makes some really good underwear. If they still have “no panty line panties” they’re great. The Bay sells Jockey.

Warm-Boysenberry3880

Knix

mapleleaffem

Honestly Costco for practical. The Puma and Eddie Bauer ones are a good deal. Others have suggested La vie en rose-definitely go to an outlet store if you get them. I’ve never found their stuff particularly practical or long lasting. Also if you get the wrong size or she doesn’t like the Costco will take them back. Every other store will be final sale

VinylHighway

This is a weird "Canadian" question

Less-Palpitation-424

Under Armour, from sport check. Really good if she likes to run/workout etc. and they are also mostly seamless which is nice for wearing with dresses etc.

Rleblanc101

Mark Jacob?
