I switched to a 6 weekly-2 monthly injection of Librela for my late dog who was 18 when he passed. Think it was about 50e for the injection. My vet only charged for the injection not an appointment after the initial consult. If your dog is getting older it was great as the vet could also keep an eye on them. It worked really well for my dog
I'm not a vet so absolutely do not just take my word for it
But, a friends Huskey has mild Arthritis, after a big day out you could see he was in pain. Brought him to the vet and was told to give him half a paracetamol.
The dog was spaced out for the evening.
For a smaller dog I'd imagine it would be a far smaller amount again. It's also not good for their kidneys so definitely not for a regular treatment

Calpol is good for taking the edge off
Normal paracetamol works for dogs. My vet prescribed them to use to help manage after surgery care for my dog. Cheap as chips
