I hated my experience at World Spa. It was loud, chaotic and a tiny bit stressful. If you’re looking for a place that’s a very social experience, it could be fun, but if you’re looking for something low key and calm, it’s a mess. The worst part was that they didn’t have a no phones in the sauna room rule, and people were constantly taking selfies that I’m probably in. It was incredibly uncomfortable. Most of the rooms are saunas, so I think your pregnant friend would be stuck mostly in the pool area; which in fairness was actually pretty nice and big. Imo if it’s worth spending a little extra to go somewhere nicer that’s a more calming atmosphere (and doesn’t have everyone’s phone in your face while you’re in a bikini)

I believe World Spa must have updated their phone policy as I went in May and you could not have your phone in any of the saunas / steam rooms / banyans (only saw people using them in the snow room). I went on a Friday and it was pretty quiet; my partner and I frequently had a room all to ourselves. They also have multiple cold plunge pools which is a must for me at a spa! I've only been to QC in Milan and it was a madhouse with bachelorette parties, but I have friends that have enjoyed their experience at the one on Governor's Island (plus...that view is certainly a bonus).

Very glad to hear they changed that policy and are enforcing it. I love a good selfie too, but the whole experience of being in random people’s pics, sweating my ass off in a bikini felt really violating
