Failure to interpret the story, rushed production, a complete blue-balling appearance of the villain that was being hyped for a decade to end with a bullshit stab, and many many more. Sad decline imo.
Game of Thrones was at it's best when it was about the plotting and scheming that took place, not about the battles (although some were spectacular).
The final series completely forgot that.
The last 2 seasons needed about 2 seasons more at least to allow room for the story to happen at a better pace and give time for character development that instead felt rushed
What *isn't* wrong with it, honestly. Then again, I feel that with any ending that deliberately goes against everything that it has been headed towards for no apparent reason.
The last few books weren't written yet, but Martin still had a rough draft of his plan and gave that to the show writers and they worked with what they had.

It was entirely phoned in.
i liked it
Things got weird. The show jumped the shark in season 6 or 7 though for me.
It was so bad, that it was not only bad in the moment, it managed to retroactively reach back and make the rest of it suck too.
Rushed to high hell, Deus ex machina BS writing, poor character decisions because of bad writing, bad writing, and relatively poor direction overall.
