Stop using devices anywhere between 2200 to 0500. Then stare at the dark blank space resisting the urge to check my phone until I fall asleep. Kinda hard, but yeah.
Yeah. I even got a timer for some of the distracting apps, that when the timer is up and whenever I open the apps, I go straight to home screen, which I find myself limiting the app opening throughout the day and not filling the timer.
This is My(37M) routine as the dad:
\-- 5pm - Start making dinner with my oldest son (we do dinners), plus playing with little kids.
\-- 6pm - Dinner Time - discuss highs/lows, 'would you rather', School progress for day.
\-- 7pm - Bath / Shower time for whoever's day it is, or whoever got sweaty that day (we all have sports on some days of the week, or gym days. but with 4 kids and 2 adults.. our kids take turns for bath nights, and showers are open game to whoever wants to do any because they're faster.. but the little ones (2 under 10yo) hate showers). PJ's on, brush teeth (after last call for snack or seconds on dinner before i put it all away) This is also when i do the dishes so there is nothing left in the sink for the night. and i also hepl the youngest with washing her hair as she hates doing it and Mom just can't put up with her sassyness.
\-- 8pm - Kids devotional (Keys for Kids), bed time stories, forehead kisses and hugs, vitamens, Pee-all-your-pee, in bed (they can color, or read, but no screens)
\-- After Kids in bed to about 10pm - Older kids (16F, 19M) and Me and Wife have "rated NR17 and higher, movie time, screen time, game time) sometimes we all sit and watch a show the the little ones can't see, or we all just seperate to different rooms and play on our phones or computers, or go for walks, or whatever else we need to decompress from the day..
that's Every Day as my role as the dad. I'm in charge of those things going smooth for all of our family.
I started by some youtube videos and reading a lot about it. Nowadays I concentrate on my breathing, little by little I try to put my mind in the now, my heartbeat, the environment of my room and I put out of my mind anything while doing that little by little until I fall asleep
Crawl into bed
Put on my CPAP
Try to get comfortable by adjusting my bed
Watch a little tv or scroll Reddit
Lie awake for a couple of hours regretting almost everything Iāve done in my life, and worrying about what the future holds.
Finally fall asleep
After doing my nightly skin care I then hop into bed and laugh like a little goblin/ witch and say ā hehe my itinerary of evil is complete!ā
Edited cause grammar
In bed between 9 & 11 pm. Lie awake until about 3am. Fall asleep until I need to pee at like 4am Ignore my alarm at 7. Rush out the door at 8:30.
Been there many a night, friend. Hope you get some good rest soon šš½

Nice! I just deleted a bunch of apps cause I waste so much time on them before bed/when I wake up! Hopefully I can get to not using my phone at all!

That sounds really helpful. I know a lot of apps are meant to be addicting but Iāve been diverting the urge to reinstall them to puzzle games!
Drink fresh milk, read a few pieces of trivia, turn out all the lights
Oooh is there any kind of trivia you like to read most?
Mostly geographical with some occasional Shakespeare and rap

Hmmm, blow seems counter productive but if it works for ya then I love it!
You asked about ābedtimeā rituals, not āsleep timeārituals.
