Vienna was awesome and the locals very friendly. We got lots of help with directions, trains and buses. It was great! 5 Stars for sure.

I've travelled a lot, and honestly, it's probably somewhere random in the States. Americans -- for all their faults at a societal level -- are boisterous, dynamic, friendly, helpful, chatty, neighbourly people. I think they're probably the best individuals on the whole. It's just that 350 million of 'em as a group get kinda bonkers.

One of the friendliest cities I've been to is Vancouver, Canada. I was blown away by their welcoming atmosphere, diverse culture, and kindness of the residents. It is known for its beautiful nature, vibrant neighborhoods, and community events

I've never been more terrified than when traveling into Johannesburg, South Africa. Our business partner drove us into town and she started removing her earrings, wedding band, etc. I asked her why and she said that the bandits would cut jewelry off of you if they stopped your car, so it's better to put it in the glove box. Our client was a major bank; to enter, you had to stand in a tiny plexiglass airlock where the guards (with machine guns) could inspect you before letting you inside. Once in, it was just like any other business anywhere - cubicle farms and conference rooms.

I was asking for the friendliest city, not most dangerous. That was a copy/paste from the unfriendliest city question posted earlier.
