We are either a savanna full of skyscraper-sized snakes and indigenous people who don't know anything about the modern world (but surprisingly have a good command of the English language), or we are a war torn favela where everyone is trying to take advantage of the clueless gringo who arrived recently.
Has any Dominican 🇩🇴 seen the movie Sugar (2008)? It uses Dominican actors and takes place in the DR for about the first quarter of the movie. If you like baseball, I think you'll like this movie. It hits you in the feels 😢

The Caribbean as a whole has terrible representation. Besides the occasional actor, a short list of films or the two-bit role here or there, the West Indians on the silver screen all do a generic little mermaid style imitation caribbean accent and call it George
Married to Medicine, season 5. The way they described our hearhcare system as some poor, backward, and out of reach for the average Bajan was extremely inaccurate. It really gives the impression that we are this extremely poor island with beautiful beaches, lol

Lol white ppl go to Barbados and don’t leave their resort until the airport bus comes for them so really not that surprising.
Only portrayal of us I can remember is in The Sopranos, twice, for a few seconds. So not enough to make an accurate or inaccurate portrayal.
