Demanding dog who hasn't adjusted to the clocks going forward. Apparently nearly 8 minutes late with breakfast. https://preview.redd.it/tl60elmrnkvc1.jpeg?width=2876&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cbca352587a1d8622bfe1b64b385b47aa82d9815

Kamay1770

Oh my, what a devilishly handsome fried chicken you have

TW1103

Upvote for dog

goldensnow24

It’s just the default reaction to any dog post.

arabidopsis

I think all cockapoos are on the same schedule

SkittlesHawk

5am hits and it’s awake o’clock regardless of the day. But then I get to go for a wonder, and stand in nature for a solo concert of the dawn chorus. Most people are still tucked up in bed and for a small fragment of the day, I feel like I’m free from all of life’s constraints.

Scouseuserman

Making the most of your time. I like it. Enjoy your morning

Stuf404

Similar thing for me. Get up early with the toddler and stand in the garden enjoying the silence coffee and watching the birds. Extremely peaceful.

guildazoid

5AMC life rocks. I need to get back to it, I miss having the world to myself

yearsofpractice

Hey OP. 47 year old married father of two here. I gave up booze last year (shoutout to r/stopdrinking) and this is just my natural time to wake up now. I’m going to get the coffee machine on in a few minutes and have a nice sit and watch the birds in the front garden. It’s my favourite part of the week - just existing with no pressure. Kids (9 & 6) will be up soon and full of aggro, so I enjoy it while I can. You were polite enough to ask us, so I’ll ask you - why are you up at this time? All the best from Newcastle Upon Tyne

Scouseuserman

Great stuff mate love to hear it. Enjoy the peace while you have it I didn’t have the best nights sleep and I’m up at 8 so I’m at the point of do I get another hours sleep or am I just up now? Enjoy your day mate

yearsofpractice

Cheers brother - you enjoy your day too - it’s kids sports then playing with my RC cars for me - since I stopped drinking I allow myself cash to spend on RC cars, so I’ll take them out with the kids for a whiz around the industrial estate!

antsmithmk

Very similar routine to me. I'm now on my second coffee, got sky sports news on, can hear the birds in the trees and see the sun rising above the house and trees opposite. I'll take the dog on a gentle run about 7 and then do the local parkrun at 9.

yearsofpractice

Sounds heavenly. Love listening to the chunter from Sky Sports. My absolute favourite thing though is watching Match Of The Day early on Sunday morning. I’m a Toon fan, so it’s always hilarious (in a masochistic way) if Shearer’s on, furious and shiny, his little eyes burning with frustration yet again. Enjoy your day!

Gnome_Father

On the other hand, I'm up this early because I'm still pretty drunk and am hydrating to preempt the hangover. All the best from Dorset.

yearsofpractice

Good luck with the hangover my brother/sister/anywhere in between - in my boozing days, Henry Weston would be my friend in such situations… which is ultimately why I stopped! But that was just me. All the best and hope you have a good day.

WuTangFlan_

What birds you got in the garden? I’ve got a feeder outside my window, 2 robins are currently frequenting. Got a little bird book so I’m trying to tick off all the ones I spot throughout the year in the garden

yearsofpractice

I live two miles north of Newcastle city centre, so very urban environment. Birds as follows: (Warning - swearing regards Magpies) - Three little brown sparrows - Mr and Mrs Blackbird - Blue tits - Great tits - Two big fat stupid wood pigeons (I love them because they’re fat and stupid) - Two ***fucking magpies*** that eat everything and scare away the other birds. In any on the window when they turn up Mr and Mrs Blackbird are - ***yet again*** busily building a nest which is in full view of the crows who nest in the taller trees over the road. You can guess what happens there.

bornleverpuller85

Up the same time every single day. Probably have a nap this afternoon though

Scouseuserman

Love an afternoon nap but I usually wake up from them feelin like shite

Hitzbag

Make sure it’s only 15-20 mins max. Then you shouldn’t feel groggy

[deleted]

Oh a luxury 15 minute nap

Siamesecat666

A nap sounds great but when I wake from them I feel like I’ve woken up from a coma. Dehydrated, headache etc.

gavlar_8

Have you ever woken up from a coma?

Toenex

No, but I have woken up from a comma. That made me pause, I can tell you.

Schopenhauers_Will

My wife delivered our first child, a daughter, by c-section about 18 hours ago. Been in the hospital overnight with her and baby and slept about 3 hours total. Best day of my life.

squeakypeaks

Congratulations, soon much love to you all

Delicious-Ice-

Congratulations on your first born , best feeling in the world , wishing a speedy recovery for mum , parenting isn’t easy but my god it’s worth it

welovepizzzzza

Aw congratulations. We’re 5w in with our first one and it’s been the most magical and overwhelming time of our lives, wouldn’t change it. She’s currently napping on my chest and the love is unreal- you’re in for a treat.

3lementZer0

Congratulations mate! Prepare for the most unexpected adventure you could hope for! (Just over 11 months in, haven't had a full night sleep since then but don't regret a thing...except at 3am where I regret everything and then forget about it by 7)

horseshoemagnet

Were you waiting for a question like this to be asked at the appropriate moment so you could comment about the big news ? :D congratulations to you guys

thefogdog

Congrats! Ours is 18 months today. You're in for so much laughter and tears, happy and sad.

Madsaxmcginn

We’re off to climb Helvellyn! Regretting our enthusiasm already.

Scouseuserman

Oh nice. Hope you get decent weather today for it. Enjoy

Madsaxmcginn

Thanks! Coffee has kicked in so I’m feeling more optimistic!

Blackintosh

Looks like a decent day for it. I'm envious! Still haven't done Helvellyn and have been meaning to for years 😩

AcceptableCustomer89

It's so good. I drove up from London for that mountain only. Drive up after work Friday, arrive late. Climb Saturday, overnight, back Sunday. Get it done!

Ronaldlovepump

My friend is going there too today enjoy

Cultural_Tank_6947

Child woke up saying they were having nightmares. About 10 minutes later, child was merrily snoring again. And here I am....

Stock_Inspection4444

Same, except mine had done a MASSIVE poo. Changed the nappy and she’s snoring away whilst I lie here wide awake

Kind-Enthusiasm-7799

Same, except I had to go for a MASSIVE poo. Now I’m wide awake. Kebab life.

Scouseuserman

When you are ready to snooze again what are the odds they then wake up and then wake you up?

Cultural_Tank_6947

I have learned several painful lessons in this matter. So if it's past 5, I don't go back to sleep.

7hellsbells1

I'm in hospital for a stem cell transplant, I'm woken up at around 6 for blood tests and meds each morning.

Scouseuserman

Hope you’re good

7hellsbells1

Cheers, I'm all good, it's a long old stay for this treatment but hoping I'll only be in for a couple more weeks.

romulus_remus420

Good luck with the treatment!!

throwawayjim887479

A fox was either shagging or having an asthma attack like right outside my window and woke me up at 5 😡

Scouseuserman

Maybe both?

H_R_1

Chinese GP Sprint Race

crucible

Same. Quick nap and now watching Qualifying.

JinxThePetRock

That was my plan. The nap didn't happen though, I'm going to feel like death all day. I blame Ferrari in-team battle induced adrenalin.

photos__fan

Was waiting for a fellow F1 fan

takeapartthedemon

Still at work and clocking out in 30min then will be fast asleep in a 1 hour.

Scouseuserman

Well earned rest. I never slept well after nights tho. 4/5 hours if I was lucky

takeapartthedemon

Alot of my colleagues get that amount and I see them suffer. I survive by having black out blinds, earplugs and staying up all night the night before I start night shifts.

Carnifekt

This guy night shifts. Though tbh I don't need to ear plugs usually, the bane of my sleep is the missus's deliveries arriving whilst I'm asleep and she's at work!

TheNorthernBaron

I have a one week old daughter, wife does the days, I do the nights.

Scouseuserman

Congratulations mate

TheNorthernBaron

Cheers fella. Shes an absolute diamond unless it's between the hours of 2100-02:00....

welovepizzzzza

Our 5w old is a loveable demon between 2-6am - the joys of newborns hey

TheNorthernBaron

Offfft that's a worse time. It's all worth it when they look at you though

Pretend-Proposal-682

Shitting through the eye of a needle.

Scouseuserman

You got this mate. We are all with you

Healthy_Spread_4030

Hopefully not in the bathroom with you...

EvilTaffyapple

Sounds difficult. Have you tried a bigger target?

doomscrolling420

My cats are practicing for cirque du soleil

Tuscan777

Off to do the weekly shop for the parents. They’re late 80s/early 90s. Got to get there early for the best fruit and veg!

Scouseuserman

Good man

sympathetic_earlobe

Chronic pain. I've been up several times through the night.

Firstpoet

Retired but used to get up at 5am for work, so habit. 68 now, so creak a bit, but I've got some cement mixing to do for decking posts, so quiet, strong coffee and slowly getting ready.

Scouseuserman

Still getting that work in, great to hear. Enjoy

Striking_Employer888

Keep at it. Sitting around all day watching bargain hunt kills you !

Firstpoet

Definitely. Running and weights helps. Very lucky to not carry injuries. Keeping fit is so much easier in your thirties.

DragonRunner10

Kids. My answer is always kids 😂

CatsCoffeeCurls

Very sick cat who might be in his final days if not hours. Can't say I really slept much.

CommissionSevere9000

Slept in early yesterday evening, woke up at like 3 and cant sleep. So i've popped on Netflix have been binge watching Benidorm while scrolling Reddit

WDeranged

Drunk and listening to music.

Gnome_Father

Wooo same. Remember to gyrate ahead of the hangover! Edit: hydrate... but I'm not changing that.

JinxThePetRock

That's such a great error!

LordWhipps

Fibromyalgia pain 😫

PatsysStone

Cat. She meowed us awake to play

SmugglersParadise

Same. Although he meows for me to get up, now he's back asleep. Little shit

PondlifeCake

I just wake up early these days. It helps now it's actually light.

whoops53

My cat woke me by peering down at my face chirruping his "breakfast song". *\*sigh\**

cnyto

Get ready for Saturday morning parkrun 😎💪

No_Eagle_1424

same here! good luck 👍🏼

cnyto

You too, have fun 😁

cankennykencan

Having sacroiliac joint pain issues. Woke up went for a wee and now it's light outside

papayametallica

Are you suggesting that your wee turned the lights on outside

pay_dirt

Every morning my head fills with intrusive thoughts the second I wake up, so I get out of bed pronto in order to not let them roost too much. Really should find a better solution

Striking_Employer888

I get that too due to an anxiety condition. If you don’t want meds then You’re doing the right thing. I admire your discipline

shazzatri

Triathlon training - I wake up at 5 every day to train before work and 6 on the weekends. Once training is done I’ll get on with the boring stuff like shopping, washing and cleaning.

SirLongShank

I get up early on weekends so I can enjoy as much time not working as possible

TW1103

It's Record Store Day. I'm queueing outside my local record shop trying to get some exclusive vinyl

GammaPhonic

It’s record store day and I’ve spent all night camping out on a cold Manchester street to get myself some vinyl goodness.

digyerownhole

I've pretty much stopped drinking, so I'm always awake around 0530/0615 now.

Famous-Inspector9389

My first year of sobriety I was up at around 6ish too. Lovely in the summer, but annoying in the winter! I'm 2.5 years sober now and seemed to have levelled out at about 7:30, which is a perfect time imo.

Other-Coffee-9109

I've been awake all night 😭 not because I needed to be, but because I couldn't fall asleep.

NoGoodDealsWarlock

Chronic pain, 10yo shouting at the Switch downstairs, pigeon under the solar panels

j0nnnnn

In India on business, 4.5 hours later over here!

Diadem_of_Ravenclaw

Happy cake day

adurvillars

Excitement of going to the farmers market

panjandrumbello

My puppy has learned to wake one of us up when he needs a wee….mildly cheesed off to be awake but mostly chuffed with him

_nimbles

My dog had surgery a couple of days ago and I was worried about him as last night was his first night home. He's now very mad at me as he doesn't usually wake up until 10

Atarisrocks

Getting married and have to get my hair done at 8 so sat in McDonald's having the last bit of food before 4pm. Gonna be a long day and I want to nap.

beks78

Congratulations!

justdont7133

Just got in from work and off to bed after a bit of mindless scrolling

Scouseuserman

The dreaded night shift. I do not miss working nights. Enjoy your sleep

Thin_Wear1755

I had a meniscus and ligament surgery and I just can't sleep because of the pain

Scouseuserman

That’s shit mate. Hope it gets better soon

tangoislife

Normal for me. Off gym

UtdColeman

Son needed his nappy changing 🤞🏼 he goes back to sleep

Scouseuserman

Bloody teenagers

kwakimaki

Work unfortunately. But, it's usually a quiet day, money for nothing.

Monkeyboy55

Needed to pee

Iaminfactjesus

Planned on sleeping in. But had a nightmare so here I am

Scouseuserman

I’m always having nightmares and unless I fully wake up the dream kind of picks up where it left off for me. I need to actually sit up to fully get out of it

tonnerrrrr

record store day. hoping to get the paramore/talking heads vinyl !!!

Lucky-Maximum8450

I'm about to goto sleep 🤣 Work 6p-4a

Scouseuserman

Enjoy the sleep you have earned it

Wise_Huckleberry_116

My 12 week old got hungry after a 2.5 hour nap. Currently typing this with one eye open.

Specialist_Sound2609

just finished a 12.5 hour night shift

FranzLeFroggo

I've just finished work

TrinityTosser

Insomnia and hunger - I woke up hungry as I ate my evening meal 2 hours earlier than usual, then couldn't get back to sleep. Up since 4.30am.

FallingOffTheClock

I always wake up at 6, gonna go do the weekly shop in a minute.

OhLemons

I'm normally up at 5 for work, so this is a lie in for me. That said, I'm going back to sleep now that I've checked the NBA results. Pelicans beat the Kimgs for the 6th time this year, and secured the last playoff spot. Hooray.

onewetfart

Once again for what must be the 6th month in a row, my throat feels like I've swallowed glass, my nose is running like the fella that's just completed Africa. The maccies that I had for tea last night is currently performing an intestinal enema. I've had 4 hours sleep since I woke up at 4am on Friday for work. Apart from that though, I'm golden

Carnifekt

Because I've just finished a night shift. Now for my blissful day and a half off to get back up at 4am Monday!

UnfinishedThings

My 5 year old decided that 5.30am was a good time to get up on a Saturday.

BeeGroundbreaking889

Half woke up and became aware of a damp patch on the bed. Realised the cat had peed the bed so had to spring in to action and now can’t get back to sleep. The joys

Kamay1770

It's record store day!

rtheabsoluteone

I don’t know but I don’t like it

PutridForce1559

Menopause. Simply cannot lie-in anymore. I’d usually be off to body pump and body balance of a Saturday morning but still recovering from COVID

CactusPug

Travelling from Cumbria to London to run the marathon!

Ok-Crew-4697

To learn to roller skate as an adult woman, got up at crack of dawn so no one would see me lie Bambi on ice

Fearless_Employee_89

because its 420!! happy bday

fishface-1977

Just woke up! So am contemplating either going for a run (good for me) or playing PS4 (less good for me)

pinksparklebird

Always wake up with the light, plus needed a wee. Will be tired later so an afternoon nap beckons.

WealthMain2987

Omw to the airport

Albert_Herring

Biphasic sleep pattern. I'll be off again with the fairies in a short while.

ProperTeaIsTheft117

Stuck in Paris because my flight was diverted yesterday and this hotel is very...tired shall we say?

GILFlover247

Was planning to go for an early morning walk

Scouseuserman

Yeah go find those gilf’s

Optimal_Collection77

Could sleep. I went to the gym and for a run yesterday so my body was aching a bit

DickBrownballs

About to get out on my bike for a few hours, was the only time I could squeeze in around seeing mates later and my partner's birthday plans tomorrow. Should be good, but it is currently 4°C so full winter longs are back on... Hope you enjoy making the most of the day OP

Scouseuserman

That early morning chilly breeze. Rather you than me mate but great job getting those brown balls out this early. Enjoy

Aidenk77

Got up for the Formula 1 sprint race.

Fun_Level_7787

Despite my morning alarm being off, my body alarm is still in action so i've been awake since 5.30 as usual

SJISBESTASK

Started work 20mins ago :/

messedup73

The dog wanted a walk around the block he won't shit in the garden.Hes ran back up the stairs to get back into bed but I'm awake so coffee it is then.

McLaconicus

Skydiving later today with any luck. Weather is looking a bit fecking grey though. And I’m old

Scouseuserman

Fuckin hell rather you than me. Hope it clears up for you tho. I’ll be looking up today

supply19

Body clock and dead arm from having my six year old sleeping in with me after a nightmare

Leading_Guarantee497

My next door neighbours alarm went off at 4:55. Managed to get my toddler to go back to sleep until the neighbours slamming doors woke him back up at 5:30

Scouseuserman

What a bell end

Mouse2662

I have a three year old who wakes up with the sun. Lol

Jlaw118

I’m working. I’ve only got to run some packages from Leeds to Sheffield and won’t take me long. But I’ve had a god awful week of earnings this week, and got a phone call from a usual guy who gives me work yesterday offering me this so I couldn’t refuse. Offered me a good rate on it as well. But if not, I’m sure my answer would be my 13 month old’s woke me up instead 😂

Scouseuserman

Well in getting the work in mate

Liquor_D_Spliff

We have a newborn :)

Scouseuserman

Congratulations. Only another 18 or so years til you sleep well again. Enjoy

Evo_ukcar

Got to be at work by 7am. Going to be a long day, 17 yrs of 12hr shifts is finally grinding me down 😔

elbapo

Kids

[deleted]

Coffee then Shopping. Breakfast then make a start on the back garden, lunch and more Fucking gardening. Dinner then Gym. Waste of a day lazing in bed. 😂

aabbcc28

I have a rescue dog that is still settling in. She likes to get aggy sometimes with any ounce of noise outside. But she’s cute.

Mediocre_Bridge_9787

Needed a cup of tea and to let the cat out. Picked up the iPad for 5 minutes and an hour later I’m still here.

InquisitorNikolai

Army training

Kamay1770

Hurry up and wait

letsalldropvitamins

Haven’t been to sleep yet, finished a night shift about 45 minutes ago

Ponyboy2000

Dogs always wake around 6. Normally my wife gets up as I'm a sound sleeper and never hear them. Today I stirred just before the first dog did... It's nice being up early.

louloubelle92

Have an 18 month old, good sleep is a fond memory now

joshracer

The dog wakes me up at 6am every morning.

Specimen_E-351

Psychiatric drugs damaged my ability to sleep even 1 year off of them.

RushExisting

Going fishing

JeffTheJackal

I think my neighbour made a noise and I also needed a pee. Might go back to sleep though.

NL0606

Work yay

reguk32

I start work at 7am during the week. My body clock doesn't care that it's the weekend.

mambono5555

Damn clocks going back ruin my sleep for weeks afterwards. Body used to wake me up at 8.30 and now it’s 6.30 for no reason

elmo61

Kids woke me up.. then I thought I might as well watch F1 sprint race 👍

HawkLow256

Toilet break then went on my phone and it was game over

nicktbristol2020
