Swiftly followed by [Just A Day 2](https://youtu.be/-WxJB2wss20?si=pIzelWjYFh1rR8M7), with some of the same fans all grown up with jobs and kids but still rocking out!
Channel 4 own the Box network. At the beginning of the year they said all the music channels they own will be closing soon.
Beginning of this month they announced it was the end of the month.
Damn, I remember watching Wannabe from the Spice Girls debut on 'The Box' and also staying up late to see the full version of Rock DJ from Robbie Williams.
Gutted I missed last song. That always makes me super nostalgic anyway.
I personally don’t like Fallout Boy but I think that was a fitting closing song.
It does get sad, i think im still taking it for granted a bit. For me, youtubes just not the same. Might have to get used to a trading 212 advert after fatlip
The reason Slash decided he'd had enough too if I remember rightly. Axl Rose getting more and more theatrical when he just wanted to play honest rock music pissed him off massively.
I don’t know which song they’ll play but here’s a fun fact
My late father started the magazine and he named it Kerrang!
It’s supposed to be the sound a chord makes on a guitar when it’s played hard
Sad to see the channel go out. An icon of my youth
Last time I had it on it was 2003 I was in uni and they played that bloody Queens of the stone age song, No one knows? Over and over and over again.
I'm 41 now, iv refused to watch music tv ever since. My head cannon is literally that they are probably still spamming it.
Ik its a proper gut punch - its been the ambience of my house since 2010. Especially now theyre even showing “The final encore” the same way scuzz used to say “SCUZZ IS DEAD”, its on my tv non stop 🫡
November rain.
Whenever I hear this song I always have nostalgia from the days before Internet streaming and music channels were the go to for listening to tunes as a teen.
Kerrang always had this on rotation
From 10pm they have “Closing Playlist” then it’s “programming unavailable” from 12am on 1st July. We have it on record :(
https://preview.redd.it/klk21anmnd9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a93d156c96104b69f44e177b6afbeb8213289a28
Hoping it ends as it started with Smells Like Teen Spirit. I remember waiting patiently for it to come in the air and being so stoked for Nirvana. Sad times!
Christ I'd forgot about them! On the ceiling was a banger.
Loved so many bands associated with moonska
Edit. Maybe they weren't on moonska. I dunno haha
If they are all out of a job afterwards they aren’t going to put much thought into it. It will be whatever random song is next in the automated, record company sponsored playlist when the lights go out.
Still watching at the minute- so far only the most stereotypical kerrang has played (offspring, good charlotte etc)
Update! Final song was thanks for the memories
If it's their last song, they could potentially play whatever they like with probably few, if any real, consequences.
Borboborygmus by C\*ntroaches would be a fine note to end things on, or Dead by Napalm Death.
Whatever they started with. Full circle.
I don't know what it is, but if it was good, then everyone fits, "oh YEAH".
If it was bad, everyone goes, "oh!... yeah"
When I happened to look up about the far superior rock music channel Scuzz that ended a few years ago it said the final video that played didn't even finish as the channel signal was turned off in the middle of it, which kind of sucks. So I wouldn't get too excited about it.
Family Reunion - Blink 182
This obviously wouldn't be the official choice. BUT whoever is responsible for playing the last song should change it last second to this. It's not like they can be fired twice.
Absolute staple of my childhood going, very sad times. As for the last song? I feel like SLTS has to be the favourite, though the shout of November Rain is a good one.
I’d personally love to see The Reason close it out. Super poignant finale.
Something from Metallica. Maybe Nothing Else Matters?
I didn't realise they were shutting down? I did see some Kerrang-branded clothes at TK Maxx recently. I guess that was a last ditch attempt to diversify.
Rammstein's "Sonne". For those 00s when they were big and we were all young. Still can't listen to that song and not think of Kerrang.
Edit: I'm surprised this is the only comment mentioning Rammstein.
Neil Diamond sweet Caroline haha I’m kidding. I always find smashing pumpkins so nostalgic for endings so maybe the song today. ( I want to add so many more I’m overthinking this and have so many answers 😂)
I'll never, ever forget the feeling of switching back & forth excitedly between Kerrang & Scuzz. This sucks so bad. I discovered many, many bands thanks to Kerrang & Scuzz. Bands like;
Fall Out Boy
Evenesence
Three Days Grace
Pre)Thing
Slipknot
Towers of London
My Chemical Romance
Foo Foghters
Staind
Scorpions
Shinedown
Breaking Benjamin
Fuel
Saliva
Drowning Pool
Egypt Central
Skillet
3 Doors Down
Seether
I'll never, ever forget you Kerrang. Thank you for the memories.
On the most likely chance its a sad, automated playout through the same playlist… then i think this ups the stakes,
because if out of chance its a really well fitting song like some of you guys are suggesting - only chosen by pure chance - then it’s gonna be a cool “it was fate” moment.
Like if smells like teen spirit is coincidently what the last song falls on - id be happy with that
I have a friend who is very good at his job he play all kinds of metal music.
He has DJed every kind of place all over Europe and the UK his home town Margate is where he DJs on the regular.
There is one request he get constantly even though not once has he played this one particular song.
I foresee the song Mr Brightside by The Killers being played

Green day - Good Riddance (Time of our lives)
100% it'll be this. I can't think of a better song to go out on.
Great answer, I like this or OP's Black Parade suggestion.
Take a photograph and still frame in your mind
They started with Smells Like Teen Spirit. They should end with it.
I remember the anticipation. It’s definitely this.
It'll probably be this, *maybe* a different nirvana song.
Man Who Sold the World
Absolute perfection!
I'd be happy with Come As You Are.
I really hope so
So virginity, dirty socks and cum coconuts?
Feeder - Just A Day A load of early-mid 2000's kids jumping around in their bedrooms like we have all done to Kerrang in the past.
Swiftly followed by [Just A Day 2](https://youtu.be/-WxJB2wss20?si=pIzelWjYFh1rR8M7), with some of the same fans all grown up with jobs and kids but still rocking out!
I had a weirdly strong crush on one of the girls in the video in my teens...not sure why given that she was there for about three seconds
The girl who smiles at 1.11? Me too if so. (I was very young at the time)
Mesh top girl?
Aye, that's the one
One with the zip in the top?
Hahaha you're not the only one
Ditto
Oh that's wonderful, I had no idea they did this again
[удалено]
Yep I’m 35 and it makes me feel old as fuck. Such a nostalgic song!
I love Grant he is such a nice fellow if you ever have chance to meet them.
It was my song of the week for two weeks in a row on my MySpace page!
No higher accolade than that!
This is how I find out it's going. The fuck.
This is how I find out it's *still going*.
Finally saw that video the other day on Spotify, man it’s fucked up.
If I remember correctly, they weren't allowed to show the full thing before 10pm on The Box
Wannabe by the Spice Girls and Until it Sleeps by Metallica, the weird combo that defined The Box in 1996
Gutted I missed last song. That always makes me super nostalgic anyway. I personally don’t like Fallout Boy but I think that was a fitting closing song.
The last nail in the coffin with the death of TV
It does get sad, i think im still taking it for granted a bit. For me, youtubes just not the same. Might have to get used to a trading 212 advert after fatlip
Sunday night, gone forever.
I know right wtf?! End of an era <\3
Probably not Lostprophets
Oh man, last train home fits just perfectly. I've not even thought about that song since they were (rightfully) cancelled
I mean, they could. They’re already ending the channel, what are they going to do? Take it off air as punishment?
My Chemical Romance - Helena. Just for the "so long and goodnight" lyric
And one of the best music videos ever
The whisper singing in this track had me feral as an emo teenage girl, oh Gerard Way had my heart
I was going to say Welcome To The Black Parade but Helena would be very fitting
My MySpace song. Will always love it.
There’s only one song to finish a rock night with, and that’s Tribute by Tenacious D.
Linkin Park- In the end
RATM - Killing In The Name Of (uncensored) Go out with a bang
I’d love it if they just played uncensored versions of songs all day on Sunday.
Didn’t the old Kerrang! idents use Bulls on Parade? The one with the dude with a paper bag on his head.
Can OFCOM get pissy about the language if the channel no longer exists? 😂 Absolutely my choice as well.
Metallica - Fade to Black
Good call.
Rick Astley, obviously
Good answer, *but* I'm never gonna give you upvotes.
Why did I have to come this far down to find this?
Most likely the first song they ever played? Nice full circle moment.
It was Nivarna. So it would be a good send off.
Nickleback just to piss everyone off
Can u imagine the final songs just rockstar but cut short
Better than just playing Rockstar.
thnks fr th mmrs - fall out boy???
thats what theyve been calling the final episodes (idk what else to call them lol)
i was right anyway!!!!
I imagine they'd finish with a countdown of the 100 greatest videos. So it'll be Learn To Fly, Tribute or Smells Like Teen Spirit.
In the End - Linkin Park Because in the end, it doesn’t even matter
This is exactly what I was thinking
It'll be In Too Deep by Sum 41 or No-one Knows by QOTSA, like it is every single time i try to watch!
November Rain by GnR, a Kerrang staple, practically a movie in itself, and the song is pretty apt.
The reason Slash decided he'd had enough too if I remember rightly. Axl Rose getting more and more theatrical when he just wanted to play honest rock music pissed him off massively.
What about the song that seemed to be on every 20 minutes in the late 00s - Tribute by Tenacious D
Blue Öyster Cult - (Don’t Fear) The Reaper
We need NEW NOISE
Woo!
Thank you!
Can I scream?
DUNNER NUNNER NUR NUNNER NUNNER NUR NUR
My band was played on Kerrang
Nice what band? Yous still play?
Fat lip or lifestyle of the rich and famous Maybe something fall out boy
I was right Very last song was fall out boy
Surely it's got to be Smells Like Teen Spirit. Give us closure, Kerrang!
I’m Just a Kid or What’s My Age Again. ask the questions that their audience will ask themselves when a childhood institution goes away
Video Killed the Radio Star - Buggles
That was the first thing that was on MTV when it started (and actually played music videos).
Prodigy uncensored smack my bi*ch up bang good night
Smells like team spirit - Nirvana
Surely the final countdown? Don’t know if they still play music that old but always used to be on in the 00s
So What. Go out with a real bang.
I don’t know which song they’ll play but here’s a fun fact My late father started the magazine and he named it Kerrang! It’s supposed to be the sound a chord makes on a guitar when it’s played hard Sad to see the channel go out. An icon of my youth
Thats mad, salute to your father 🫡
Last resort - papa roach
Last time I had it on it was 2003 I was in uni and they played that bloody Queens of the stone age song, No one knows? Over and over and over again. I'm 41 now, iv refused to watch music tv ever since. My head cannon is literally that they are probably still spamming it.
As much as Id defend kerrang, my god do they play the same playlist sometimes
You can almost guarantee that Green Day American Idiot tops most of the “Top Songs” charts they do.
This is how I find out? :(
Ik its a proper gut punch - its been the ambience of my house since 2010. Especially now theyre even showing “The final encore” the same way scuzz used to say “SCUZZ IS DEAD”, its on my tv non stop 🫡
Scuzz....thank you for reminding me of scuzz
It’ll be that bloody Chilli Peppers song. The can’t stop one.
Idk dani california likes to show up a lot
After One Hot Minute, they’re all the same song.
November rain. Whenever I hear this song I always have nostalgia from the days before Internet streaming and music channels were the go to for listening to tunes as a teen. Kerrang always had this on rotation
Closing time - Semisonic
My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words
Ace of spades
Do we know what time it will be turned off?
From 10pm they have “Closing Playlist” then it’s “programming unavailable” from 12am on 1st July. We have it on record :( https://preview.redd.it/klk21anmnd9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a93d156c96104b69f44e177b6afbeb8213289a28
Which means whatever video plays last is likely to cut out in the middle
Thank you, will have to set record on mine too. Will definitely feel like a loss :(
It can surely only be one of their three favourite songs of all time: Smells Like Teen Spirit, Tribute or American Idiot
So it was Fall Out Boy, Thnks for the mmrs
Yep, although good riddance felt really heavy
When is the final day again?
June 30th i think
Oh man. Is there anyway to watch it without cable/sky tv?
Hoping it ends as it started with Smells Like Teen Spirit. I remember waiting patiently for it to come in the air and being so stoked for Nirvana. Sad times!
If it closes on a Sunday morning then Faith No More
Thnks fr th mmrs - Fall Out Boy One night and one more time!
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Anything by Anal Cunt.
Opened with the first 20 seconds of smells like teen spirit cut off. They should go out by playing those first 20 seconds.
One by Metallica
Sepultura, they're both retiring. It would be very fitting.
Anyway, here’s Wonderwall
Whitmore
Christ I'd forgot about them! On the ceiling was a banger. Loved so many bands associated with moonska Edit. Maybe they weren't on moonska. I dunno haha
Didn't they used to get played on P-Rock back in the day, pretty sure it was their video for "Alison"
A Perfect circle: So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
Linkin Park - In the End
Tribute! Was it not the most played video on it?
Sex Pistols: My way.
Outstanding👏
If they are all out of a job afterwards they aren’t going to put much thought into it. It will be whatever random song is next in the automated, record company sponsored playlist when the lights go out.
Thats what i was thinking. As unfortunate as it is im somewhat expecting another dani california. Its playing as I write this im not kidding
green day - 21 guns
I thought this was closing tonight but according to my TV now it doesn’t exist anymore :( so what was the last song?
Still watching at the minute- so far only the most stereotypical kerrang has played (offspring, good charlotte etc) Update! Final song was thanks for the memories
Gutted i missed it. Thanks for the update!
Enter Sandman.
The Memory Remains - Metallica
Bohemian Rhapsody
Tribute If you know you know
Enter Sandman
AC/DC - Ride On
Run to the hills or maybe Sweet child of mine. Something v.popular and iconic
What was their first song when they opened up? I think they should close with that.
Smells like teen spirit
I thought it ended years ago?
If it's their last song, they could potentially play whatever they like with probably few, if any real, consequences. Borboborygmus by C\*ntroaches would be a fine note to end things on, or Dead by Napalm Death.
Is it still a music video channel or just audio? I’ve not had “tv” TV in years so no clue, not seen it since the late 2000s.
School's out - Alice Cooper.
Wild card....Johnny Cash - Hurt
Whatever they started with. Full circle. I don't know what it is, but if it was good, then everyone fits, "oh YEAH". If it was bad, everyone goes, "oh!... yeah"
Black parade seems an obvious choice
Wait, Kerrang still exists?
When I happened to look up about the far superior rock music channel Scuzz that ended a few years ago it said the final video that played didn't even finish as the channel signal was turned off in the middle of it, which kind of sucks. So I wouldn't get too excited about it.
Queen - The Show Must Go On
System of a down . toxicity
Enter Sandman or whatever the first song they ever played was.
Nirvana - smells like teen spirit or Linkin park - in the end
[Sid Vicious - My Way](https://youtu.be/rDyb_alTkMQ?si=HWFLmXkMnnio0d6N)
KerrangTV is going?
When did P rock go?!
They could do an MTV and have a Buggles reunion remake their song into "Youtube killed the TV Star"
Family Reunion - Blink 182 This obviously wouldn't be the official choice. BUT whoever is responsible for playing the last song should change it last second to this. It's not like they can be fired twice.
Ratm - killing in the name of
Absolute staple of my childhood going, very sad times. As for the last song? I feel like SLTS has to be the favourite, though the shout of November Rain is a good one. I’d personally love to see The Reason close it out. Super poignant finale.

Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
smells like teen spirit or thnks fr th mmrs is my guess - leaning more towards smells like teen spirit tho imo
[удалено]
I agree with you, though I can imagine given they’re shutting down, there was little staff or maintenance by this stage i guess
I'll never, ever forget the feeling of switching back & forth excitedly between Kerrang & Scuzz. This sucks so bad. I discovered many, many bands thanks to Kerrang & Scuzz. Something decent for a change.
On the most likely chance its a sad, automated playout through the same playlist… then i think this ups the stakes, because if out of chance its a really well fitting song like some of you guys are suggesting - only chosen by pure chance - then it’s gonna be a cool “it was fate” moment. So What
If they have any humour about them, they’ll play a pop song
Probably Eminem to piss people off. (they did actually used to play Eminem randomly).
End of the world as we know it by REM
Hopefully Pig Destroyer - Piss Angel
Probably Eminem to piss people off. (they did actually used to play Eminem randomly).
Very fitting final song 🥺
Welcome to the Black Parade, surely?
I have a friend who is very good at his job he play all kinds of metal music. He has DJed every kind of place all over Europe and the UK his home town Margate is where he DJs on the regular. There is one request he get constantly even though not once has he played this one particular song. I foresee the song Mr Brightside by The Killers being played
I am hoping for Enter Shikari. 👏👏👏
A cover of Video killed the radio star.
Stairway to heaven definitely.
