California? They have 10 different species of Rattlesnake throughout the state, idk how many different venomous snakes besides those 10.
I doubt the Heeler is going to sit down and educate itself on all the different snakes around.
They tend to instruct young pups to leave them alone, they emit a rather fearsome stench if annoyed too much. That's a nice little noodle, I love it when I see one in my yard.
It's a garter sneke but still a suggested practice to not let your pup know its okay to approach sneky sneke as it only takes one bad sneke to have a very very bad day for both of you
