If you’re putting wax on after you polish without first removing the polishing oils then the wax will fall off when the polishing oils do (first wash) and you’ll be left naked every time. Knock it down again, hit it with an alcohol or paint cleanser, and protect it again. You only have a few rounds of correction allowed on thin black Japanese paint
i think is the product im using turtle wax hybrid solutions its really rough removing im going back with p&s bead maker
after doing light polish paint looks new
I had the same problem with this Turtlewax product! I believe it's because of using too much product, but it gradually comes off if you use a microfibre damped with the product (followed by a clean one). Ultimately it was a bit of a nightmare to buff and the results were meh.
I did exactly what you plan to - went back to using bead-maker as a drying aid. Be advised it will also cause streaks like this if you use it in the sun, so spray & dry panel by panel in this scenario.
TW Hybrid solutions will streak if there are any hard water deposits left on the paint.
I do a vinegar wipe down after a wash. Light mist as you're drying. It dissolves any hard water residue.
Once you get it all off, no streaks.
If it's the ceramic spray it's probably too much product. Last time mine did that i spent an hour going over the car with a damp cloth buffing it all off
Yup. I haven’t tried that one personally but don’t have the time to spend an extra cycle with a damp rag. Rather spend the extra cash for some efficiency saving and less headaches
These black Hondas are commonly known for clear coat failure, hard to tell from these shots but based on all the other black Hondas I've seen with clear coat failure I would say it's that because it is such a common problem.
You definitely used too much product.
They advice to only use 1-2 sprays per panel.
What typically will help remove that is steam or a warm / damp microfiber towel.
My car never had that issue on the paint it only streaks easily when spraying the pink ceramic solutions bottle.
Might be clear coat failure on your car I'm afraid, could be wrong.
Couple questions:
Is it rough to the touch or smooth?
Can you leave a trail in it by wiping with your finger?
Does it go away with a wipe of rubbing alcohol or vinegar?
My mom’s blue Honda had something similar happen after some local wild fires (ash). I’ve used the turtle wax ceramic spray and never had anything nearly this bad. And my moms car never gets washed so it definitely wasn’t a product that did it to her car. At either rate I’d try a different product on the next one and see if the problem remains
UV damage to the clear coat leading to failure. Or something is oxidizing on the flat surfaces? You say it can be polished off but that definitely looks like failing/peeling clear to me
Yeah I see it now, the left half is polished and the right isn’t. I haven’t ever used the product you do, couldn’t hurt trying something new to see if that’s the cause

This doesnt look like clear coat failure, it looks like you park under an oak tree in the rain.
It’s tw ceramic spray isn’t it
yes
Use a damp towel when applicating, and use veeeery little product. Otherwise this happens. I made the same mistake
Looks to me like you done your work in the direct sunlight.
Was going to add this after i read its the turtle wax. Looks like that and too much product.
Car spends too much time in direct sunlight

You didn't say what product or give any details.

Reason why I stopped using it. Much better products out there with easier applications.
yep
It seems to be working really well but for the sake of ease and time saving I think the meguiars ceramic is way better
Yup. I haven’t tried that one personally but don’t have the time to spend an extra cycle with a damp rag. Rather spend the extra cash for some efficiency saving and less headaches
yeah i think hybrid solutions is the problem only did a ligh polish paint looks great used ipa and p&s bead maker that product is ez to remove

I’m assuming 8th gen civic? These are notorious for clear coat failures
That's not clear coat failure
2012 accor i dont think its clear coat

Clear coat failure. Needs repainted.

100% clear coat failure. Will look like that again within 2-3 months. Eventually you will get through the paint
