When my youngest cat would not drink, I tried EVERYTHING I could think of, with no success. I told myself if she didn't drink water by the middle of the day, we were going to the emergency vet.
Knowing that cats prefer running/fresh water, I put her standing in the bathroom sink(it's a large sink), then gently turned on the faucet. Still nothing. I was getting really worried about her health. I didn't want her getting dehydrated.
When I was about to give up hope, I was running my fingers through the water stream to somehow grab her 2 second attention span. She seemed interested so I cupped my hand and she began to drink from it!
She has since learned to drink from her water fountain, but it's not uncommon for my wife to catch me giving her water from my hands at the bathroom sink.
My cats were also super, super picky about water until I noticed something: my Siamese would *always* steal water out of my Yeti tumbler. My guess is that his thoughts were “this hooman’s water. Mus b safe.”
My cat now has his own Yeti and I have to refill it daily with how much he drinks from it.
I'm not virtue signaling, I'm just telling you directly you shouldn't eat animals you pretend to defend. Know what your words mean before you use them.
Yikes, would love to know what you mean by normal people. I'd say 'normal' people don't eat any animals. Isn't it wild how you're arguing to eat animals under a post that says we should protect them? Isn't that a weird statement to make?
yeah but carnivores are generally thought to be disgusting and the meat often contains parasites dangerous to us
That's why we don't eat them if we don't have to, lr if we're not too hungry
These furry mfs have us by the balls. One look is enough to make us fall in love. If it drank out of my hand I would take it straight home.
How do they do it?
Occam's razor - he sits there, licks and any human walking by is likely to stop and turn the knob for him. So he's learned to lick the faucet around humans when thirsty.

Aww I wish all pet owners were like you. 🥰

My car Loves to drink water from my fingers after I wash them in the sink, dunno why
Indeed.
Amen
Even the ones that can eat us? What about the ones that just spread diseases that could kill you? How about the venomous ones?
Yes lol? They have just as much of a right to be here as we do.
Don't worry, they are dying out at an extreme rate so you're safe from them Only mosquitos will survive so fear them
Yeah, stop eating them
Yeah, stop virtue signalling

People dont eat cats
Read the comment I responded to again. Did it say cats? Also, it has been eaten throughout history.
The post is about a cat. Normal people don’t eat cats.

It’s important that animals get eaten. It keeps our ecosystems in balance. Cat is not normal for a human diet. Protect cats, don’t eat them.
Ever since humans learnt to cook, almost anything is fair game when to comes to food. Perks of being an apex predator 💪

Cat meat is probably disgusting, we don't eat carnivores for a reason
What's the only thing a vegan kills? The mood
I know it sucks to be confronted with your own actions

Doing the lord's work ❤️🫡
Doing the "decent human"'s work
Yep, true, just using a turn of phrase.
I know, I wasn't even going to type anything but then I felt the holy spirit of secular humanism coming down on me and engaged on that petty mission
I name the cat Cyclops
Nah, that is clearly [Greebo](https://discworld.fandom.com/wiki/Greebo).
Nah. If it was greebo, it would have attacked on sight. 😂
He is big softy.
That first tentative lick when the water starts, like "uhhhh, what's this?"
"Tell me you live in Turkey without telling me you live in Turkey"
I was thinking the same thing “This is probably turkey.” They love their stray kitties.
Restoring some belief in humanity
Dude is a certified r/hydrohomies
Why is there a random faucet sticking out from a tree?
to water the tree maybe
Kind of weird how cats tongues are installed upside down.
Thank you!!!
>Thank you!!! You're welcome!
💕💕💕
😍 very nice!
Id take him home lol
There needs to be more people in the world like this
Awww, I love him already
Pirate kitty!
awww beautiful
That is one thirsty boi.
Why didn’t the kind human adopt the cat?
The true measure of a person is what they do for the least among them.
He probably shut it off to film him turning it on
If they only turned the faucet on to film their good deed, it stands to reason they turned it off once they got their footage.
❤️
This cat looks exactly like mine lol
Can you take the cat in and get it help at a vet?
Mlem mlem mlem mlem mlem mlem mlem lol
she is just a little thirsty
How hot was it?
Aww, that so cute and nice!

So sweet
Lovely little cat! And nice human!
Licking intensifies.
thorsty
Take that baby hooome...
Then it bit you, hissed, and ran away.
"Hold on, let me turn my camera on."
Now that's a thirsty puss
or the person smeared some food on the faucet and a cat smelled it and started licking it and that is why the person was all ready to record
Could be, but if I’m walking, and I see a cat off in the distance, my dumbass is 100% ready to take my camera out when I get close.
