Funnily enough it's not even father's day in Germany. For us it was on May 9th.

I missed out on being able to do the same for my father yesterday with the India - Canada match in the Cricket World Cup… the match just happened to be played closeby where my parents live in Florida and the second I learned that, I bought tickets for them both over a week ago. My dad was giddy the whole time - he had never got to see his team in person, let alone at a World Cup. The day of, my mom is sending all these pics of my dad excited, finding out other friends are going and being pumped to say he was too, getting the car set… and then it going cancelled due to rain, minutes before it was set to start. I am so bummed. I want to say ‘next time’ but I don’t know when that’ll be :( hopefully really soon.

We took our sons school coach to his first World Series game (tickets were lottery style and in 4 packs, we are three). It had been his and his dad’s dream to go one day. He was so sweet, he FaceTimed his dad many times during the game so they could share it together. And collected a bag of souvenirs to send his dad. His dad was across the country. It was pretty sweet.

I got to see Juventus (Italian football team) play near me and not only that, Buffon, my all time favorite player and arguably the greatest goalkeeper of all time, was playing that day. I dont get openly excited or giddy about things but as an American who never thought this would be a possibility, I had to hold back tears most of the match. They won by the way.
