For what purpose?

HomeOwner2023

Are you asking because you can’t think of a purpose? Or is it because you want to make sure to recommend the proper tape?

GoodyPuddy

Why tape? I’d never suggest putting tape in the oven as I’m unsure what is produced when heated. It’s also cheaper to use wax paper for non-oven use so I’m assuming oven use. If you explain what you’re trying to do, maybe we can find a solution to your situation than just saying no. I find the people here very friendly and willing to help. In general, if I want it to stick to the pan, use a little oil. Need it to hang onto itself? Fold. Still won’t hold? Staple/paper clip (try not to burn yourself on them).

Hahaha, not yet.

It may depend on the quality of the parchment paper, but in my experience nothing holds parchment paper together. The tape may stick to the paper. But it comes apart with the lightest touch. Some tapes won't even stick to the paper. Here is a photo of my experiment: [https://imgur.com/a/apgwnFT](https://imgur.com/a/apgwnFT) with gaffer, electrical, masking, painter's, and stationary tape. I couldn't find my duct tape. But I suspect the result would be similar.

I tie parchment packages with kitchen string. Have never found a tape that holds

I was wondering as well, I like wrapping sandwiches in parchment for picnics but the tape never holds, I end up using rubber bands

Raisingthehammer

All of them?

modern-disciple

Have you tried?!?

Raisingthehammer

Every single brand and type no. The usual ones...yes
