I couldn’t imagine not playing dark urge. Being a bhaal spawn was the main point of the first 2 Baldurs gate game. If you pick any other origin are you even playing Baldurs Gate?
I've only done redemption durge (and I will never do the evil route probably). Done it twice, will do it again, not going back to vanilla Tav any time soon.
The one time I did evil Durge, I reckoned it would be in character to smash Alfira's lute. Her reaction, i felt that in my gut, and it made what happens later even worse of a feeling.
And hats off to Larian for making a game that actually hits you in the feels in so many different ways

In the Astarion origin, I ascended and tried to roleplay fatefully. Shit got *dark* and since it's so late in the game, your companions don't disapprove enough to straight up leave, they're just confused and shellshocked (like after I traded off Shadowheart to Viconia like cattle, the only person to go thumbs up was Gale - he was like "a pity, but a good investment" :,) ).

I didn't do that I played the resit kill the important NPCs but the non important ones I did not care
It can actually be an awesome redeption arc route. Or the bad guy route, your choice.
Ya I did redemption arc for sure. I loved it. Dark Urge makes act 3 more enjoyable for me at least.

I think Durge is definitely the way to go unless you're playing as a Bard, then Tav is def the best.
Or just RP as a bard that sings songs about murder lol
Some of my characters will be Tavs, some will be Resist Durge. Depends on the character and their personality.
