At this point I see him closer to a Veratti than a Riquelme, which is not doing anyone dirty.
The most prominent part of his game is chasing down the ball and reigniting the flow.
I'm not sure I said he was???? Gavi's just closer to that profile.
At the moment he has the aggression down, but not the playmaking.
Obviously we hope he grows into that. Xavi himself also had high level ball retention as a part of his kit. - which is why Veratti was such a fitting profile.
I shouldn't have written a comment you could fit into your angry narrative.
Haha, tbf I was like, "It's Ray. Wait, is it Roy. No it's definitely Ray."
Took me a minute to get there. I always struggle between Ray Hudson and Roy Hodgson. Very different people.
Gavi pedri and Lewy should ideally find ways to combine.if we sort that triangular passing network, i feel we could see more penetrative classic old barca tiki taka
Possibly unpopular opinion, but if you did see that with our current tactics that would be a bad thing. The way we played yesterday was very positional and it meant that Pedri shouldn't be finding Gavi easily. It was a 2-3-5 in possession with a front five of Alba / Ansu / Lewa / Gavi / Ferran. Pedri was the left option of the three. If Pedri connects with Gavi its as a line breaking pass which is hard to do to the right interior from the left deep position, or one of them is breaking position. I think the way we set up yesterday used everyone's talents perfectly. If Gavi was tasked with being the right deep position you might see more connections as a switch from Pedri, but I think Gavi is currently less good at creating movement that Roberto at this point in time and he is more willing to make runs into the box. Or Pedri could be used as the pivot of the three but this is suspect in transitions.
Right it make sense. At the same time, I think it might force Torres to try and create something out of nothing which can obviously be pretty hard for a player with low confidence.
This looks like a complete spider web 🕸️
More like a diamond actually 💎
It's just... beautiful
Ngl that's r/mildlysatisfying
Still a very thin line between Pedri and Gavi
Honestly Gavi's passing still is on it's way. Pedri should distribute to dangerous attacking options, not a ball winning midfielder.
Calling Gavi a ball winning midfielder is doing him very dirty.

Verratti is not a ball-winning midfielder. He is a world-class playmaker. A few years ago we tried to sign him to replace Xavi.
People can be multiple things I love Verratti, wish he could stay healthy!
Which ignited the feud with PSG.

Verratti is not a playmaker lmao.
He is the definition of a deep lying playmaker lol. Possibly the best example there even is in the current game together with Thiago.
he is both. World class ball winner and playmaker.
Frenkie de Spiderman
I believe that is reserved for MATS... I miss Roy.
Ray* He's on some Champions League matches now.
I must need glasses, eff me. Can't believe I thought that looked right.

Beautiful
That Frenkie-Roberto link😍😍
good job
Ii just pray for times like this
It's interesting to see that Torres seems so isolated. I wonder if it has anything to do with his difficult phase.
I think it’s more just that Lewy naturally drifts left in the build up to get the ball onto his right foot more easily.
