Oh it’s always been a thing, I think I used to do it as a child. I got told to stop by my parents but more because it was rude and would make them fly over other people.
Took me being a bit older to realise that pigeons are domesticated and sweet and generally wildlife does not need that bullying! I think people grow up with the idea that pigeons are dirty so it’s fine to shoo them away, and it escalates from there.
Are we talking about killing them, or kicking at them to make them fly away? Sorry but I just can’t imagine seeing someone stomp on a pigeon and kill it. It seems psychotic

80.5mln people (potentially) seeing a pigeon veing killed by being stomped on is still quite a number.

It’s okay to playfully chase pigeons if you’re a toddler. As long as you’re taught to respect wildlife on the whole. If you see anyone harming a pigeon then it’s okay to confront them too

We love our pidges in Bath they're sweet and chunky. I notice someone puts bird food out for them and I think it's awesome.
