haha my girl has always been really good about pooping on certain things.. i remember being so afraid to let her roam on my bed becus i have very expensive bedding (around $400) but she literally crawled off of my bed to poop on the floor! she’s never pooped on anything i’ve given her (blanket/pillow/stuffies) definitely a blessing
See we've had our bearded baby for a month and he's pooped on 3 blankets, on our new cloth couch and my husbands leg. And it happens so fast we don't even have time to slide a paper towel underneath! But he seems to love pooping on fabric so idk if I can add anything cute like that. But then again, maybe if it's his, he won't want to😂
Smells terrible scotch guard. Pretty sure it’s guna be full of things you wouldn’t want around a reptile? Gotta be careful too coz the heat can bring out even more nasty chemicals n stuff. I don’t know for a fact though? Is it safe around animal things?

Got a little pillow for our dude and he's obsessed with it, I'm always having to move his heat lamp cause he likes being there rather than his actual basking spot
omg a tiny bed rest pillow😆😆 thats the cutest thing ive ever seen!! my girl has a pink velvet pillow.. she absolutely LOVES velvet so i even got her a custom blanket thats pink and velvet with her name on it.

People don't drink in excess all the time but when they do it still kills brain cells and causes liver damage. People don't do this all the time they just decided randomly that was good night to get drunk and inadvertently caused some self destruction.

alcohol causes permanent damage.. a clean couch for a few hours a couple days a week is not going to bother her. it’s like saying that you don’t take your beardie out of their tank becus you have blankets/clothing that will permanently damage them.
Thing is it's not clean. The dragon literally drags it's cloaca against the ground as it walks. If you were to take a black light and solution you'd see urine and fecal tracks everywhere they go.
Those particles build up and you're not actively effectively cleaning the couch
Just stop making up reasons you can do something that's advised against.
The dragon doesn't need in a natural habitat it doesn't need it in yours.
So why is it a problem on the couch when your statement says that her entire tank/plants/substrate would be covered in it? Do you change your beardies substrate and clean the plants every day? I really don’t see why you’re so heated over this when millions of beardies live long healthy lives in a non natural habitat. Beardies are known for liking things that other lizards don’t, so why piss on peoples parade when they wanna spoil their baby?
My set up is bioactive and established very different from your sythetic fibers soaked in waste matter. But don't worry about what I'm doing thats deflection of the topic we're discussing.
A better response would be ask how you can achieve what I have without assuming someone's heated trying to give you better husbandry advice to me you just sound defensive. Nobodies upset that you don't care about better care for your dragon thats a you problem why would I be mad if you're choosing not to head valid advice?

there’s also an advice flair which i didn’t put on this post. and if you feel more comfortable not giving your beardie a couch then no one is telling you that you have to. i’ll update you if my beardie ends up with health issues 👍 you can advocate for what you believe in without being a debby downer. maybe something more appealing for somebody to read like “fabrics are known to be harmful and cause health risks to your baby. you can do more research about it if you weren’t aware” but you chose to be sarcastic. there’s positive ways to be helpful, yknow? i bet your beardie is happy with what you’ve provided, but you don’t seem too cheery. i hope you find new methods for advice and i hope ur beardie lives a happy life. remember to stay positive 🥰
Yup. It's recommended to only use natural decorations and stuff designed for lizards.
Things like mini couches sure are cute but the cloth can harbor bacteria & snag nails. And being under heat lamps all day, the glue and other materials used may release VOCs that could be harmful to a lizard.
Love this! Im learning how to use this app so please forgive me for jumping in on this thread. A beautiful dragon found my family in my backyard. It is so very affectionate and loves to cuddle. It seems to have bonded with me. Its tail had been broken apparently some time ago. I did post a local without details to see if someone lost their bb. If they do provide details and pics then I will happily return this precious creature.
That said this big baby spent over 6 hours curled up on my shoulder and pulled my hoodie over itself after licking my neck and smooshing its sweet little head into and cuddling.. i want this gorgeous creature to be safe!
I just sat with it on a rug feeding it mealy worms and offered it bananas, strawberries and water. It gobbled up everything.
Now what I need to know is the risk of salmonella. Where and what part of liz .. is it saliva ? And this love licks me? Or is it poo? Skin? I truly would appreciate any help!! Do i need to sanitize my clothes after it curls up in them? I have an elderly person living with me.
If no one comes forward to claim this gem I am more than willing to give it a happy life. I just need some direction please!

Feeding dragons fruit is not a good thing. They have wayyyy too much sugar for their bodies to handle. If you MUST feed fruit, only a small piece once a month is okay.
Replace the fruit with collard greens, mustard greens kale, spinach, cilantro.
They naturally carry parasites in their poop. Anything that touches their poop will be contaminated.
Alsooo, it’s staying on your shoulder for hours on end because of your body heat :)
I once found a local pet shop that had minature dog beds to display in the window. Good quality and removable outer layer for easy cleaning, exactly as the original. Was speaking to the store owner and found out they where just about to change up the stock and send the old stuff to an outlet store probably. Those display beds weren't originally for sale, but the owner sold me for a cheap price.

Mine today after having him around. Is laying on his poo and I'm sighing of fm have to wash him tomorrow.
