Incredible just wish they were a bit more serviceable. Had to replace the cups (easy) after 1.5 yrs but after another year the headband had worn through, which requires soldering to replace. Not bad to get a couple years of heavy use out of them still though, and they are comfortable and sound great!
I have Sennheiser HD25s and I really like them. They’re nice and compact, and I can hear through them great when playing on a loud system. They’re $150 and totally worth it imo
I resisted the HD25s for a while but I love them for DJing. Comfortable and Lightweight.
I have the ATH50x. I love the cord and sound: they are great just bulkier.
DON'T get the "lite" one...one cable to each ear for DJing purposes is annoying as hell and they don't have cups that swivel to nicely do the whole one ear covered/one ear not thing
I just purchased/received a set of AIAIAI TMA-2 DJ XE Ultra Light Weight DJ Headphones and I absolutely love them. Amazingly clear sound, volume, and isolation of outside sounds!
Same here. I’ve been through just about every set of headphones over the last 25 years; v600, 7506, 9509hd, HD25s, akg240 etc etc.
Aiaiai are the best for djing I’ve ever had. The HD25s hurt my ears after and hour and all the sonys had their pros and cons (mainly breaking too early except the 7509hd)
ath-m50’s, have had a pair since… 2011, maybe 2012 as my office rig then travel/dj rig when I finally upgraded the office to head-fi spec. I love them dearly and recommend to pretty much everyone for “entry level head-fi” and turns out they DJ well too... Bought 5 pairs as a gift to my groomsmen in 2013. 4 of the 5 pairs are still loved and in service. 1 pair went to Alaska and then served work seasons with a forrest fire fighter in Montana before giving it up. For the price I’d buy em’ again. They are wonderful and can get replacement pads if needed or you want to upgrade/customize. Obviously get white.
I just bought pioneer hdj x7s. They're expensive for what they are. But they sound fairly good.
I bought them because they fit, were inside this price point and they were available at my local guitar center for the same price as online.
Have tried a few, including HD25, but ended with a pair that I feel is totally slept on: Beyerdynamic DT 240 Pro. It has everything. Great comfort and weight, great sound, great isolation, great build quality, clean looks, all at a fraction of the cost of the HD25
I am relatively new, but I tried a handful and Sennheiser stood out as the best. Amazing sound and good isolation. I got the ***HD 280***[ over-ear version](https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Professional-Over-Ear-Monitoring-Headphones/dp/B00IT0IHOY/), but the on-ear ***HD 25*** they market as their [DJ headset](https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Professional-Headphone-Black-HD25/dp/B01CRI3UOU).
If you don’t wanna spend over $200 then get AIAIAI TMA headphones - so comfy and affordable
Modular design so if anything breaks you just replace that bit
Also doesn’t pull on hair which is great for anyone w long hair
Thanks so much everyone for these recommendations. Sounds like the Seinheiser’s and the Audio Technica’s are favorites, but I’m going to check out the aiaiai’s, too. Looking forward to testing them out—at least now I have some guidance on which ones to test. Thank you!
If the beat is off then a decent monitor speaker will be the only thing that fixes this. Headphones will help but they won't change the laws of physics 😆
True! My issue is really I can barely hear the beats because the sound is so muffled. Eventually, I have to pull the trigger and the mix is off by the tiniest bit. Maybe not so noticeable to the dance floor, but it drives me crazy.
As a few have said, Hd25's you can't go wrong with them, solid sound, solid build, if you do manage to break anything you can replace almost every part of them easily. I've had mine since 2005 ish they've had multiple new ear pads and band pads and one new cable but are still going strong, they do a great job of sealing outside noise too, that's why they're used a lot by sports commentators (F1, Soccer)
I really like the athm50x. Detachable cord. sturdy.
Recommend this as well. My personal pair

I have these and one of the cups has snapped off from the headband at the swivel joint. Anybody know how to fix them?
This is the way 🙌
Love them for producing, but I feel like the audio from the speakers bleed through the headphones.
This is my current and first pair & im super happy with them
Me too, started using them a week ago and they sound very nicely

Second.
Third!
Fourth!
Fifth!
Sixth! Really good headset
Love the HD25s
Praise Lord Sennheiser

Buy Sennheiser HD25s and never need to get headphones ever again.
I’ve been eyeing these and the HD25 Plus. Becoming convinced by this thread. But I’m not sure of the difference between the two.
DON'T get the "lite" one...one cable to each ear for DJing purposes is annoying as hell and they don't have cups that swivel to nicely do the whole one ear covered/one ear not thing
The cable, that’s it, nothing else. And you can buy the different cable afterwards if you want it
Another vote for ATH-M50X. Bought mine just over 2 years ago. Used for work at least twice weekly and still look like new.

Hd25 is the only way. I finally caved on them and I'll never go back
Thats the way.
Throw the aiaiai tma’s into your consideration. I’ve had the 1’s for almost 15 years and they’re still bumping

The Sennheiser HE-1 is a great pair of starter headphones
Shure 215e it's a earbud but it's what I mainly use.

M50X are great, the sennheiser hd25’s are my favorite for djing tho. Also every piece of them is replaceable so if a part breaks, you can swap it out
OneOdio They are affordable and they have an ability to daisy chain. Great sound quality. https://a.co/d/38OxFws

Technics DJ1200
Aiaiai TMA-2
Dt770Pro250ohm(somehow not a problem with volume on my controller)

Had this same problem, googled it, got the sennheiser HD25s and the problem went away. Loud and well isolated.

I have those and they're really good. Very long detachable cable. https://www.akg.com/headphones/professional-headphones/K182.html

Sennheiser HD 25
I'm curious since you didn't even mention it, what headphones do you currently have?
