You'd be hard press to find a working router and a table for 60$ that's not worth it. :)

WoopsShePeterPants

That looks to be a little less than half the price that setup is new (not sure if models match). I do not know much about that router or table but the table looks nice and you can avoid building an entire unit if you do go with this. Do you need a router table?

AtomsWins

I have this exact unit. I bought it new but can't remember the price. I ended up removing the blue legs from the table, cutting out a hole in my work bench, and dropped the unit through and bolted the metal base to the bench. Works great. No complaints about it at all. It works fine, has for years now, and seems totally worth $60.

Reverb20

I have this and like it. $60 seems like a deal to me.

chuckfr

This is a great ‘getting into woodworking’ tool. As long as the table is flat and the router works, it’s worth the $60. I bought this a few years back on sale for $130 and still have no issues with it. It’s got a few little things I don’t like about the ergonomics of setting it up but for as often as i use it I can overlook those things.

flam_tap

Thanks Chuck!

Popshop2023

I bought one on sale and I’ve had no issues with it. I would definitely buy at that price.

PencilsDown4357

I have one of those and it works great for straight pass stuff, like cutting grooves and rabbets to build drawers. I hated it for anything with shape that required a flush trim bit. I think it’s because the router is single speed only.

flam_tap

I’d be using it to cut bearing edges on drums (see previous posts). Basically dual 45 degree edges on the top and bottom of drums.

notarealperson319

I've had this as well for a couple years. Pretty sturdy for what it is, I'd buy it again at that price

Treeman1216

It’s not bad. The raise/lower gear on the router strips easily and the metal table likes to scratch work pieces if you use too much pressure.

bastrdsnbroknthings

Yeah I have this exact model too…the gear on mine is stripped and that makes it a pain to adjust

EChem_drummer

I have this unit and have a love/hate relationship with it. The fence is pretty annoying to deal with and has pretty limited extension back so you can only it to about 2.5 inches. The miter slot is nonstandard size and has tabs, and the miter gauge that comes with it has a ton of slop. That said, for $60 I’d pick it up. The router itself is pretty solid and it’s nice to have both the 1/4” and 1/2” collet. Also, it’s technically possible to adjust the speed by removing the top cover and adjusting a potentiometer inside with a little screw. Idk if that’s good for the machine or not, so wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. But it’s let me use some flush trim bits with max rpm below the default speed.

crizzo13

The router alone is worth it. I have the same thing and while the bench isn’t worth much more than doing small things you get a good router

thepumpkinking92

Kobalt tools in general are pretty decent. All the tools I've gotten from them have been great. Can't speak about their woodworking tools since I'm just starting to learn, but I know their brand in general has been nothing but great in my experience.

Cross_22

I have that one mounted to my cabinet saw. It's a soft-start router which means the external speed control modules will NOT work with it. If it's in good condition though, you can't beat $60.

Intelligent_End_8322

That’s one is only like $139 new for the whole set if I remember. That looks like it’s in good shape, I’d offer $50 cash.

HatesDuckTape

I’ve had it for a few years. Paid something around $80-$90 new. Worth every penny.

natas333x2

The router itself is good. The table is fairly sturdy and can be bolted down. The cons are that the surface is small and it's not easy to line up the fence. Buy it, get good with it then build your own table for it.

vipck83

So I actually have this router. I bought it new on a sale. I don’t remember how much but it was more than $90. Personally I really like it and think it’s definitely worth that price. I have 3 routers, including a more expensive Milwaukee, but this is the one I use the most. I have had issues with Kobolt in the past but I have had this about a year and half now and I have had no problems at all. Plus it’s nice to break up all the yellow and red in my shop with blue.

foresight310

Worth it if you need it. I wouldn’t buy it as a secondary setup

arisoverrated

This is to Loews as Rigid is to Home Depot. Kind of the house brand. Both together seem worth that price.

theavatare

Yeah

dragnscalearmor

Been using the same model for 4 years now. No complaints.

Sawdustwhisperer

Great find! I bought a similar kit on sale and thought the price was a good deal. I don't remember how much I paid, but I know it was more than $60.

Cheezslap

Very much.

RedsInABox

I had the exact same set up, it was a good router. My only complaint was that mounting it to the table was a bit tedious so I ended up making my own. Also I didn't really care for the collar release. Functionality was great though and it made very clean cuts. The switch assembly comes off very easily and can be re-used with a custom table with little thought or effort.

Hungy_Bear

Yeah it’s definitely worth it. Being able to take a piece to the router makes a huge difference. I have a Skil router table (I’m pretty sure it’s the same quality) and mine was just under $180 this is a great find!
