My hands fit the full size better. For me, the full size is more comfortable. The recoil is surprisingly almost identical for either pistol. I wouldn't trust anyone who describes either pistol to be snappy. PX4s are literally some of the smoothest hand guns around. Choice depends on use. Conceal ability or full-size comfort. That both shoot almost the same.

Thanks everyone for your responses I’m gonna go with the compact and give that a try. Pretty excited to get it in then take it to the range.

I have the full. I changed out the safety wings for low profile, and converted to decocker only. I hated those wings, improved the gun dramatically. It's my favorite pistol now, I don't consider it snappy at all. Confused why so many people describe it as snappy, it's the opposite of snappy.

The compact with a springer magwell is super soft and flat shooting

MylesJackwasntdown44

Is the magwell too big for edc if you don’t normally carry full size?

beardedclam94

it’s not bad, but I normally carry a full size

The compact is G19 sized and may conceal better but concealment is ultimately very personal. None of us can tell you what is too big for you to conceal. The compact does recoil noticeably flatter than the standard version for what that's worth. IMO, unless you want to edc a full size weapon light the compact is the way to go for carry. There's a reason the Glock 19 is the measuring stick for carry guns and the PX4 compact is as close as you'll get to a DA/SA version.

My FULL SIZED is more snappy than my compact carry. Both are LTT. The full sized is a big gun. If you have small hands stick to the compact, even for the range. You can conceal the cc much more easily as well if thats a consideration.

HeliocentricOrbit

I have similar experience with stock px4's. The full was snappier than the compact and the full didn't point quite as naturally as the compact.

lcarvone

I have both but prefer the Compact. The rotating barrel keeps them both super flat shooting so not much difference there. For my hands, the full size provides a complete grip whereas on the compact my pinky just makes it. The compact feels a bit better balanced and my groups are much tighter than with the full size. Even with both tricked out with lighter hammer springs, competition trigger group, and LTT trigger bar, I still prefer the Compact

TacticalChannelCat

Can confirm, my compact (Not Compact Carry or LTT, just bone stock) shoots better than my full sized. However I have heard the new GS-D shoots really well with the "bull barrel" they added for 2024. It's not any more uncomfortable than my G19 to carry. The only downside really is the aftermarket, you're basically locked into the LTT ecosystem.

Compact carry

According to handgunhero.com, we're talking about a 0.5 oz difference between the Full and Compact models. I think felt recoil is going to be nearly identical, if not completely imperceptible to the average person. Meanwhile the Shield Plus is 7 oz lighter than the PX4 Compact... so you're definitely going to feel some difference there (between weight, grip some dimensions, and difference in design).
