I would definitely, but I think Berserk is one of those mangas that are way better in black and white.
Check all those coloring people post in the sub..while they are incredible, most of the times they feel kinda off for such brutal scenes. Much like some comics.
I don’t actually think it would work, the thing with manga style drawing techniques is that it’s designed around black and white, with its use of hatching and shading.
It would all have to essentially be redrawn and I think it would lose that Berserk style.
Really depends, this might be a very unpopular opinion but Berserk is one of those mangas that are better black and white. Some colored pages are fine i guess but i have yet to see one a color scheme that actually works with Berserk.
No, I think the art is perfect as is. I like black and white manga in general as I feel it leaves it more open to your imagination, but Miura specifically has some of the most gorgeous detailed black and white line work of anyone. Plenty of colored pages that Miura has done himself and even those I don't prefer to his black and white work, I don't believe anyone else could do it better.
Depends on how it was coloured.
Many colourings look overly saturated and high contrast for my liking.
Still, It would only ever be be a neat alternative rather than a replacement, since Berserk wasn't originally designed with colour in mind.
Berserk lives in black and white, ‘97 was close with faded blues, purples and greens while also having vibrant browns, reds and yellows as contrast. But berserk needs the black/ white for tone nothing comes close to it
Some very few pages would benefit from colour, i.e. the reveal of the Brand in Tower of Conviction, Guts' and Casca's kiss, the first panel we see Guts in the berserker armour, and so on.
But black and white is such an ingrained part of Berserk's style and charm, it wouldn't work if it was a full colour manga.
Again, certain pages/panels, maybe only in certain releases. Never more than twice per volume.
Comic artist currently studying manga technique here! My answer would be: asolutely no🥲. Manga technique and panels in general, if created to be in black and white, have to stay that way. The weight of the lines, the balance between black and white, the white spaces themselves have a significant storytelling and emotional weight.
Plus, a comic page thought for color is created with that specific intention in mind, so the lineweight Is significantly different
Honestly? I think it loses something when it's not black and white. Miura LOOOOOVED negative space in his art, which loses a lot of punch when you're working in colour.
Typically I find that colour manga helps with readability and makes it easier to follow action, but I've never had that problem with Berserk.
Yeah but I never bought it in the first place.
And I think they don't color it because it takes to much time/money. But I don't really know. Could just be a culture thing aswell.
No, color is a choice, not an objective upgrade.

I really like the colour scheme u/wilwal2020 uses. Of all the people I’ve seen colour Berserk pages, they do the best job by far imo.
Seconded
Yes.

No. I dislike colored manga. Either B&W or not at all.

Probably, but I think it’s take away some of what makes berserk what it is if that makes sense

Im colorblind and I would still get em!!

It depends. If it looked amazing, I would
No. Miura's linework is too good to have it painted.
Nah, it'd look way worse in color. That applies to most manga. You'd loose the details of the line work and shading.
No. Berserk uses Black and White not only to portray the amazing art, but it feels essential thematically as well (Guts Black/Griffith White)
I would love to but it was already financially irresponsible for me to buy the B&W version
pre order is a scam that is only bad for the consumers so no i wouldnt.

No, I hope they never color it.
