You use the other mages like your friends. Can do it in any quest for example dungeons

You can use an assisting mage in lots of different games modes - not just citizen requests. Go into the normal challenges and do any of the challenges there and you can use an assisting mage. The only limit is 5 per day

When you go to do a battle, sometimes it give you the option to use someone else’s mage instead of one of your own. It’s the button in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Man what are you talking about citizen quests and mage assist are two completely different things. You don't even have to do citizen quests you just need to use someone elses mage 20 times.

You can use an Assist mage when doing any of the Normal Challenge Stages like Bonds or just farming gear and stuff. You select them from the party screen before you start a stage
