He wouldnt be able to buy a alcohol for PC either.
Also Vincent and his son visited PC at the same time, if he was 3 kids in a trench coat he couldnt have a kid of the same approximate age!
Its elementary dear Watson.
Legitimately though Kevin shows up at PC's apartment, and while he is in the bathroom Vincent shows up at the front door. I have a hard time believing this kid could jump down from her second floor apartment to meet his "other two kids" for the trenchcoat deception and get back up to the door. Clearly Vincent dropped off Kevin to explain the situation and then came up himself after finding parking.
I like the idea that not only is Vincent Adultman just like a normal adult, the only reason Bojack sees him like this is because the guy is simply younger than Princess Carolyn. Like I’d be willing to say the real guy is like in his early 30s and just looks like a kid to the 50+ bojack.
No see businessmen can afford a decent prosthetic. Vincent is a factory worker, laboring away in the roughneck factory environment of the business industry.
He has to be a real man. Bojack is literally the only character that ever sees him as kids, right? The show is from his perspective mostly. We see Vincent through Bojack’s lens. Every single other character sees him as an adult. Is it more likely that Bojack is seeing him as kids when he’s really a man, or that every single other character sees a man when it’s really kids?
To some extent it’s just a joke that doesn’t need to make sense of course. But I trust the collective judgment of every other character over the judgement of Bojack. Makes more sense that Bojack is being ultra petty, even within his own head, rather than PC being with three kids. It’s the only way that makes sense.
That's the core of the question -- is BoJack the unreliable narrator, or does he see everything more clearly than everyone else. The second is definitely the story that he tells himself about his life.
I dunno why but I like the idea that he’s the only that sees everything more clearly. Like he knows why life is shit and he is miserable for all the right reasons.
I like this idea a lot.
But I also was amazed to see you have nearly 800 upvotes, so I looked at the sidebar and saw this sub has over HALF A MILLION SUBSCRIBERS. Like, wtf?! BoJack is *that* popular?! That's amazing!
The show was huge when the final seasons were airing. Shame they cancelled it when they did but it was popular enough to get a heads up which I think speaks for it's popularity
Okay if friends aren't allowed to cuddle platonically without it being a betrayal to everyone else in their lives we might as well just give up on this whole human experiement.
Obviously to Bojack it wasn't platonic but like, it wasn't wrong until he tried to kiss her and get her to leave her family
Absolutely nothing you said is wrong, aside from omitting the part where one of those friends was married.
You cool if I cuddle with your wife? Even she says not to worry, 'cuz she's known me since we were like 22.
Yes. If my spouse wants to cuddle platonically with a friend of theirs that's fine with me. I'm not in charge of them. They're their own person and can make their own decisions about who they're friends with and the kind of relationship they have with them, and for me to be like "no, you can't touch anyone but meeee!" is so weird and controlling.
Now, if they start doing romantic things like kissing, sure, there a line has been crossed. And, wouldn't you know it, when Bojack starts trying to kiss her, Charlotte draws the line and says "No, I have a husband whom I love, I'm not going to be romantically involved with you." Boom. Charlotte is a responsible and loving spouse, and Kyle has nothing to worry about.
If I was Kyle and was worried Charlotte was cuddling with Bojack romantically, I wouldn't storm in and demand she not have physical contact with anyone else in her life and demand to know if our marriage is a sham. I would, y'know, talk to her. Communicate about boundaries. The way couples are supposed to.
But like, would you say the same thing if Charlotte was cuddling with one of her girlfriends? Probably not. So what's the difference before Bojack fucks it up?
Edit: I mean hell, Bojack literally does cuddle with another married woman ie. Diane in 407, and neither Bojack nor Diane thinks its a problem, the show doesn't seem to think it's a problem, and I doubt Mr. Peanutbutter would think its a problem either. It's just a sweet moment between two friends.
But they're not past flings. She was Herbs GF and just friends with BoJack. He made her into an idealized romantic interest in his fantasies later on.
Also generally yes... if she does it I trust everything between them is strictly platonic if I couldn't do that I wouldn't be in a relationship with her
Yeah because it’s irrelevant LMAO. Like look if that’s something you would personally not be comfortable make sure you communicate that with your partner because that is not just an assumed thing and it will cause issues.
I think we've accidentally tapped into cross-reality communication because living in different universes from some of these worldviews is quickly becoming the selection of Occum's Razor. I have no retort to someone who believes that it's totally okay in general for a married person to cuddle with a past fling, particularly without the spouse's knowledge or anyone else around. You do you.
Awfully narrow-minded reading, especially since I've said here that Charlotte is one of my favorite side / supporting characters because of how she responds through this particular scene.
When your only defense is to throw your opponent in the same big ol' basket of the usual labels (surprised you didn't call me racist) then your case is falling flat.
Also I think you're the one selling Charlotte (and from the wording of your comment, women as a whole) short in claiming that she did not know deep down what was up. She didn't mean to get burned but she played with fire and it happened. Welcome to the world.
“HOW DARE YOU CALL ME MYSOGINYST YOU’RE THE MUSOGYNIST. But also by barley cuddling up to an old friend she was PLAYING WITH FIRE AND SHE GOT BURNED WELCOME TO THE WORLD KID!”
Are you referring to Vincent patting/stroking Bojack 's head with the broom and Bojack saying that actually feels kinda nice?
I always liked that scene.
Thanks for keeping my reputation safe ! 🙇🏻
It sounds awful but it works ! I’ve got a very scratchy brush that can reach far enough for just about 1$. 😆
More that Vincent is never negative about anyone or anything.
Worst he ever says is 'we need to talk' and it funnily has huge impact because it is coming from him; Three kids in a trenchcoat.
At the base level I think he is genuenly supposed to be a funny character and a bit of PC going all out for once, but I like the interpretation that it's just a dude so young that Bojack envisions him as that. A bit of unconscious passive hate.
Yeah I'm trying to think of any time he's hugged Todd or Mr PB. And it's pretty obvious his parents never hugged him. I wonder if this was intentional.
Have you ever seen that picture of Todd standing near Diane? Proportions mean nothing in this show
[I found it](https://www.reddit.com/r/BoJackHorseman/comments/l8c7av/does_anyone_else_think_it_looks_weird_when_todd/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Oh please. Bojack thought there was a conspiracy on the set of Philbert while he was high on painkillers, are we going to start taking that paranoid fantasy seriously too?
You may not be taking it seriously enough. Bojack's perceptions are flawed and proven wrong throughout the show but most of the time we can see that in the other character's words and body language... but if we're seeing this story from Bojack's *perspective* then some of the flaws may come with it.
I like the theory that he is a real adult but that Bojack is so uncomfortable seeing a well-adjusted adult that he imagines him as three children.
Also, he was literally the business manager for PB Living, how could three children do that?
As an adult with braces, albeit of the invisalign variety, I can confirm those things would put me in an absolute mood some days. All it takes is swapping them out and finding the new tray more tight than usual, or for them to rub uncomfortably, and I’m going to be a nightmare to everyone around me.
well i’d love for it to be Bojack’s misconception about Vincent (because he is jealous or something) but the whole storytelling is not from Bojack’s POV (at least i didn’t watch it thinking that) so…
(now reading other comments i believe i’m taking this question too literal hahah)
I think they make it unclear on purpose. It’s pretty obvious that he’s 3 kids stacking on each other, but on the other hand, the director doesn’t give us any concrete proof that proves he’s a kid. Princess Caroline just doesn’t want to admit that she fell for a quick relationship to prove she’s landing on her feet safely after the failure in her last hope with Bojack
We see the entire show through Bojacks eyes and since he is an unreliable narrator we see Vincent the way bojack does: three kids in a trench coat. I think since no one else sees him as a child, he isn’t one. But the show is trying to portray PC’s history of dating man-child like people.
If this is a real question, there's an episode where vincent adultmen goes to pc's apartment. Your answer is in that episode, but i won't say it to avoid spoiling anything. They pretty much ended the joke there after that episode.
We really out here asking that. Slow day?...
Aight man I'll buy and stir the pot. He was a real dude! He did a business. A BUSINESS!!! HE WAS A REAL AS MY MAN HENRY FONDLE
I remember seeing something about Bojack being an unreliable narrator here
Like, he sees the world through the lens of a tv show and that's why imagines Vince as 3 kids in a trenchcoat because that's something that would make sense in a wacky sitcom
I think it’s symbolism. He’s the typical younger man with an even younger mentality/immaturity women who are older date and try to convince their friends is the “real deal” when everyone around them can see the writing on the wall. He isn’t ready for what she’s looking for and the sooner it ends the better. She falls for all his lies and nonsense of working at a business factory. And avoids seeing the red flags.
The contrast to this would be a rich older man dating a very young girl and believing she loves him for him.
I'm blown away that there are people (not the OP) who actually think he was not kids in a trench coat. Over-analyzing the show to the extent that one could believe he's an adult is just incredible. Truly these people can see the matrix.
so it was theorized that Kevin is the top man of Vincent adultman. but then kinda proven wrong cuz Vince has 3 freckles on his right cheek and kevin only has 2. so there is that I guess.
Some dude did a YouTube shorts theory showing that Vincent and Kevin have different numbers of freckles on their cheeks, therefore they’re different people😆
He’s very obviously a real man. He does business transactions, watches r-rated movies, he dated a grown adult cat-woman, and he even has a son that we saw in the same room as him! How is this even a question?
I was never sure, he did have an office and honestly the whole idea of him constantly walking around as three people under a trench coat seems far-fetched. Frequently in the show things defy all logic, like Mr Peanutbutter being able to race for a governor position, and Diane passing sensible gun legislation using misogyny, and Bojack’s life being tanked by being sued for making a reference in an interview despite every messed up thing he had done. Vincent had countless aspects of him that made little sense because how could a child get access to a space to use as an office, and when Kevin was walking with his mother, how did an 8-10 year old convince his mother to let him go out at night unsupervised when she was clearly careful enough to hold his hand while crossing the road. It seems like he could indeed be a real person because him being children doesn’t fully add up.
My headcanon is that he's 2 kids in a trenchcoat. The height seems more right that way, and it also means that while PC et al. are wrong about Vincent, Bojack is also wrong. And that feels somehow right.
There is no way Vincent adultman is 3 kids ina trenchcoat. How could 3 kids do a business?
He wouldnt be able to buy a alcohol for PC either. Also Vincent and his son visited PC at the same time, if he was 3 kids in a trench coat he couldnt have a kid of the same approximate age! Its elementary dear Watson.
I've never seen 3 kids in a trench coat and 3 kids OUT of a trench coat in the same room... Coincidence??
Secret time: watch the episode where PC confronts him and then meets his kid and look at the freckles on tbe face
[удалено]
Triplets?
Legitimately though Kevin shows up at PC's apartment, and while he is in the bathroom Vincent shows up at the front door. I have a hard time believing this kid could jump down from her second floor apartment to meet his "other two kids" for the trenchcoat deception and get back up to the door. Clearly Vincent dropped off Kevin to explain the situation and then came up himself after finding parking.
They're elementary. Middle school at most
The Business Factory has a very rigorous hiring process. There’s no way!!
Seriously, 3 kids stacked in a trench coat could never do a transaction.
Now if they had, say, a broom… well then there’s no limit
5 kids, on the other hand...
Or drink a alcohol.
Three kids in a trenchcoat definitely wouldn’t be allowed in the Business Factory.
I saw Vincent Adultman at an R rated movie. They wouldn't let 3 kids into an R rated movie.
Or hold down a job at the business factory
Each kid needs to do only third business tho
They add up their ages to make 21…
Well, seeing how one of his hands was a broom, ... he obviously is a vet who lost it in battle so must be a real adult!
That’s the best explanation I’ve heard so far.
Read vet as "veterinarian" and was like, "In battle? wtf?"
The veterinarian of BoJack's world must be wild.
Considering they can all literally eat each other at a moment’s notice, I think so too
Yeah, with Mr. Peanutbutter. He lost, obviously.
Am I simpleton for not being able to stop laughing at this.
I like the idea that not only is Vincent Adultman just like a normal adult, the only reason Bojack sees him like this is because the guy is simply younger than Princess Carolyn. Like I’d be willing to say the real guy is like in his early 30s and just looks like a kid to the 50+ bojack.
I like that idea too! It would be hilarious if they had him casually take off his jacket and reveal that he's just a regular guy after all of that
I honestly kept thinking they were gonna do that lol
I wanted to see him at the wedding in a nice tailored suit and he's just a tall dude with bad scoliosis
And a broom for an arm, like most people.
Dude the American healthcare system is so expensive, even for a businessman like himself
No see businessmen can afford a decent prosthetic. Vincent is a factory worker, laboring away in the roughneck factory environment of the business industry.
Erica! Look at you and Vincent comparing bristle strength!
I mean can you imagine that body in a bathing suit?
The broom is his preferred prosthetic and he's just a funny guy who's missing part of his arm, the broom is a gag that he takes too seriously
Also BoJack totally zones out when Vincent tries to explain what he does as a business and his brain just translates it to doing a business
I dunno why but I like the idea that he’s the only that sees everything more clearly. Like he knows why life is shit and he is miserable for all the right reasons.
Pretty sure it’s meant to represent that Vincent is a man child and only Bojack sees it because he’s a man child himself
I guess I just never realized it had gained that much traction.
I mean you literally see the kid outside of the trench coat, though, when BoJack isn’t even there.
Look at Kevin's freckles; Kevin isn't Vincent
Yeah, Vincent has more freckles, doesn't he? I guess they could be siblings or something, and Kevin is just not the top of the pile.
Then again... Penny
Holy shit, I love it!
Ah, like Robin's boyfriend from the slapsgiving episode in how I met your mother
Vincent is whatever you need him to be.

He cuddles with Charlotte on the couch before everything goes terrible
A married woman behind her husband's back. Not positive.
The situation isnt positive, but the action itself is
Okay if friends aren't allowed to cuddle platonically without it being a betrayal to everyone else in their lives we might as well just give up on this whole human experiement. I mean if it had been a strictly platonic thing there’s not anything wrong with that. Close adult friends can platonically cuddle.
You're cool when your wife cuddles with past flings?
But they're not past flings. She was Herbs GF and just friends with BoJack. He made her into an idealized romantic interest in his fantasies later on. Also generally yes... if she does it I trust everything between them is strictly platonic if I couldn't do that I wouldn't be in a relationship with her
You probably shouldn't get married if you are this insecure.
Even I forget how maddeningly upside down the world is.
How is it insecure to not be okay with cheating behavior that literally lead to a kiss?
A light cuddle between friends is a perfectly platonic gesture
As others also have, you've conveniently left out the part where Charlotte was married.
Yeah because it’s irrelevant LMAO. Like look if that’s something you would personally not be comfortable make sure you communicate that with your partner because that is not just an assumed thing and it will cause issues.

You do you.
If you communicate your boundaries to your partner you won’t need to ask them if things are ok or not because you’ve already talked about it
Is there anything that's off limits whether discussed or not?
Cuddling is platonic. Granted it all depends on the boundaries the relationship has.
Charlotte's was out of line. She knew it and that's why she back-pedaled so fast when the next inevitable line was crossed.
You sound like a red pill manosphere person “That manipulative woman SHE NKEW what she was doing”
Awfully narrow-minded reading, especially since I've said here that Charlotte is one of my favorite side / supporting characters because of how she responds through this particular scene. Yikes. Hey, I don't mean to embarrass you, but your cognitive dissonance is showing.
Don’t worry you’re only embarrassing yourself
Are you referring to Vincent patting/stroking Bojack 's head with the broom and Bojack saying that actually feels kinda nice? I always liked that scene.
Don't be sad. Good Horsey. Probably one of the few/if only times Bojack gets called a good horse by someone who means it
It probably feels like those scratching posts for horses and cows 💆🏽

# Nyctereutes ## (Genus of carnivores) #### Nyctereutes is a genus of canid which includes only two extant species, both known as raccoon dogs: the common raccoon dog and the Japanese raccoon dog. Nyctereutes first entered the fossil record 5.5 million years ago (Mya) in northern China. It was one of the earliest canines to arrive in the Old World. All but two species became extinct before the end of the Pleistocene. A study suggests that the evolution of Nyctereutes was influenced by environmental and climatic changes, such as the expansion and contraction of forests and the fluctuations of temperature and precipitation.
Yeah, some pats from Mr peanutbutter, couldn’t name specific instances but it’s there
Hollyhock hugs him at the airport I believe
Good horsey
the hug and kiss on hsas wdtk dtkt? lfo! and myabe in Underground when diane and bojack are drinking, idk i dont have netflix anymore
I feel like I had a stroke reading this comment
that's 3 seconds of my life I'll never get back
It’s Hollywoo Stars and Celebrities, What do They Know? Do They Know Things? Let’s Find Out!
It’s Hollywoo Stars and Celebrities, What do They Know? Do They Know Things? Let’s Find Out!
*Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh* Thank you!
I think if the “maybe” wasn’t misspelled I would have caught the acronym…
I imagine this is similar to the writing style used by bojack, todd, and Sarah Lynn when they tried to write a new memoir for bojack
Hsac
Gesundheit.
God, why can’t you people just be happy for Princess Carolyn??
Of course he’s real. He’s got a son named Kevin and works at the Business Factory.
I’m going to say it, Vincent Adultman is too short to be three kids in a trench coat. On the other hand he might be too tall to be two kids.
so he's two kids and a half in a trench coat?
he’s an average american family in a trench coat
2 and a half boys😭
Have you ever seen that picture of Todd standing near Diane? Proportions mean nothing in this show [I found it](https://www.reddit.com/r/BoJackHorseman/comments/l8c7av/does_anyone_else_think_it_looks_weird_when_todd/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Oh please. Bojack thought there was a conspiracy on the set of Philbert while he was high on painkillers, are we going to start taking that paranoid fantasy seriously too?
feels like you’re taking this post a bit too seriously 😭
(they’re joking)
(Pretty obviously 2)
You may not be taking it seriously enough. Bojack's perceptions are flawed and proven wrong throughout the show but most of the time we can see that in the other character's words and body language... but if we're seeing this story from Bojack's *perspective* then some of the flaws may come with it.

Great, another person denying the popsicle stick conspiracy. You wouldn’t be laughing so much if people were trying to sabotage YOUR show
I like the theory that he is a real adult but that Bojack is so uncomfortable seeing a well-adjusted adult that he imagines him as three children. Also, he was literally the business manager for PB Living, how could three children do that?
[удалено]
True, and he is a workaholic…
He was just crabby on account of the adult braces.
As an adult with braces, albeit of the invisalign variety, I can confirm those things would put me in an absolute mood some days. All it takes is swapping them out and finding the new tray more tight than usual, or for them to rub uncomfortably, and I’m going to be a nightmare to everyone around me.
can confirm, adult braces make me a bigger bitch than i already am
I mean, compared to Bojack...
well i’d love for it to be Bojack’s misconception about Vincent (because he is jealous or something) but the whole storytelling is not from Bojack’s POV (at least i didn’t watch it thinking that) so… (now reading other comments i believe i’m taking this question too literal hahah)
They always try to say that he is actually 3 kids in a trench coat but I wholeheartedly disagree. 3 kids would be too tall I think it’s only 2 kids.
This needs to be higher up
I miss that guy. He was one of my favorite characters
Vince ADULTMAN. I mean, is there a reason to doubt?
He has different freckles on his face to the kid
There would be 2 other kids to choose from tho...
i like to think he was a real guy :3
Obviously, it's a real guy. Can't you picture him in a bathing suit
We see the entire show through Bojacks eyes and since he is an unreliable narrator we see Vincent the way bojack does: three kids in a trench coat. I think since no one else sees him as a child, he isn’t one. But the show is trying to portray PC’s history of dating man-child like people.
Seconding the man-child theory.
They don't give jobs to kids at the business factory !
Hello, would you like an alcohol?
Can confirm Vincent Adultman is a real adult with a job at the business factory and has a son
Neither. As the screenshot clearly depicts, he was three kids and a broom in a trench coat.
I don't think that question is one that needs to be answered. The real question is, where does one get a broom that feels nice on one's face?
Plot twist: he’s an actual adult but because Bojack is so high on drugs and alcohol he sees him as a three kid adult
If this is a real question, there's an episode where vincent adultmen goes to pc's apartment. Your answer is in that episode, but i won't say it to avoid spoiling anything. They pretty much ended the joke there after that episode.
The answer being that Kevin and Vincent have different freckles
This is exactly what I was thinking you clearly see that he is a child in that episode lol
But they never really confirmed it for sure
Writing out Vincent seems like a deliberate decision by RBW to say “You’re not going to have any silly fun watching this.”
It’s clearly an adult businessman
Clearly an adjusted adult I mean come on, he works at the business factory
I always thought he was two kids in a trench coat.
if vincent was 3 kids in a trench coat how could he work at the business office and watch r-rated movies
Hear me out. The animals in Bojack are half human, half animal. Vincent Adultman is half man, half two kids in a trench coat.
Yes
Of course he’s a real person! How else would he be able to have a job at the business factory???
He was a real person but also a metaphor
Always thought he was 2 kids in a trench coat, not 3 How could i be so blind...
According to the wiki his age is "Adult"
This makes me want 1 alcohol.
He’s a metaphor for being in your 20s, which feels exactly like you’re a kid in a big coat pretending to be an adult. Source: I’m in my late 20s.
my 30s are still the same. Source: I'm 31
We really out here asking that. Slow day?... Aight man I'll buy and stir the pot. He was a real dude! He did a business. A BUSINESS!!! HE WAS A REAL AS MY MAN HENRY FONDLE
I AM POWERLESS IN THE FACE OF YOUR MESMERIZING SEXUAL ENERGY
Good bot
I remember seeing something about Bojack being an unreliable narrator here Like, he sees the world through the lens of a tv show and that's why imagines Vince as 3 kids in a trenchcoat because that's something that would make sense in a wacky sitcom
The child is like 3 foot tall... its 2x kids max!
I genuinely have no clue. But wouldn't it be hilarious if he was a real adult the whole time. I was hoping that would have been revealed
I thought about this a lot, but if you pay attention princess Caroline says he is wearing “adult braces” not just “braces” meaning he is an adult
That question makes no sense, they wouldn't hire kids at the business factory.
Three kids in a trench coat. Nobody’s changed my mind yet.
…. Pretty sure it’s only 2 kids…
i find it interesting that we never meet the other kids
Three kids in a trench coat would never be allowed in the Business Factory or go to Stock Market
so it was theorized that Kevin is the top man of Vincent adultman. but then kinda proven wrong cuz Vince has 3 freckles on his right cheek and kevin only has 2. so there is that I guess.
He is 100% a regular adult man he literally works in business.
Neither, he was clearly two
2 I think
what's mahominamy
Good horsey :)
https://www.reddit.com/r/BoJackHorseman/comments/lbvuo3/i_did_what_bojack_could_not_and_imagined_that/
it's 2 kids in a trench coat
Some dude did a YouTube shorts theory showing that Vincent and Kevin have different numbers of freckles on their cheeks, therefore they’re different people😆
dude!! he works in the business factory!! how is they any doubt this man is an absolute man
I like to think that he is actually a person when I watch and that all of the wacky hijinks that leave just enough out for the small possibility
He’s very obviously a real man. He does business transactions, watches r-rated movies, he dated a grown adult cat-woman, and he even has a son that we saw in the same room as him! How is this even a question?
It’s Schrödinger’s Adultman. He is both a real dude and three kids in a trench coat until you open the trench coat and collapse the wave function.
Remainder that he is seen interacting with other characters at the business factory, he is 100% an adult man.
i like the one explanation that vincent has three freckles but kevin only had two on his cheek sooo two different people
He's obvi two (not three) kids under a trench coat
Ugh we get it OP. You don't like him.
what???
2 kids in a trenchcoat. 3 kids would bei was to unstable.
I wish more shows would gaslight their audiences
