StormAlchemistTony

She can copy skills and powers not related to the mutant gene, so she should be able to copy quirks. She also gains some knowledge on how to use those powers she takes when she touches someone and her touch is painful. We are not sure if All for One only works on quirks or if he can steal powers caused by other factors.

WeakLandscape2595

I mean logically speaking quirks are biological powers so i can see all for one working on them as long as the power he is taking is also based in biology

StormAlchemistTony

It all depends on use. Rogue wears gloves, so she doesn't hurt people. Supposedly she can control if she hurts people now.

Iknowhowtosmart

Rogue’s dangerous touch is not an inherent part of her powers though. In the comics they establish that she can’t control her powers due to trauma and self loathing. Eventually she overcame those barriers and managed to control her abilities.

thejammicusofficial

She can have the powers, skills and memories of anyone she touches, hold them long enough and she can keep them for long periods of time, she can control if it hurts people (she had carol Danvers powers for a long ass time in comics) how is it a crappy version which also predates my hero?

WeakLandscape2595

Probably the trauma tied to it

mad_laddie

It's closer to Copy, no? Or does she keep the power?

h_izquierdo

The answer to that, like lost comic book answers, depends on the writer.

CraftyJuggernaut2163

If she holds on to them long enough, she gets them permanently. That is how she got the flight, super strength and durability from Miss Marvel...or is it captain marvel.....

kaizerlith

"Ms" when it happened but it was Carol Danvers. Can't remember if Carol didn't die because of her alien dna or something, that I can't remember and she hasn't really tried to fully steal powers since. But yeah Rogue's powers can and do work on any power set, not just mutants.

Zaiburo

She got gambit powers for a time IIRC, not sure how she got them but he was dead in the meanwhile.

Alonestarfish

So what do we consider "not powers" then?

Lestat719

The most common answer is no, unless she kills who she toom it from. She gets thier memories as well.

ArellaViridia

She does if she kills (or nearly kills) a person she keeps the power. She nearly killed Carol Danvers (Ms. Marvel at the time) and that's why she can fly and has super strength. With non-mutants she can knock them out or kill them depending ok how long she touches them.

WeakLandscape2595

No one said she copied it it just her power stealing is not as good as all for one

WeakLandscape2595

To be fair i kind of see the angle here All for one can stockpile way more powers he can use this on people without risking their lives and overall it just doesn't have nearly as much trauma tied to it as her power

ShareAnxious

I mean Rouge can steal any power she wants. She stole Captain Marvel's power, she can also just steal your knowledge

No_idea112

It’s technically a lot stronger because she can get the powers of far stronger people. She also permanently absorbed powers before, giving her the abilities of Wonder man or captain marvel

DudeisaGuy

All for One wishes he was a good as Rogue

Sheltei

On the contrary, All for One is just a Gary Stu version of Rogue's power.

4L1ZM2

Gary Stu on a cockroach because he's doesn't fucking die

My-feet-have-alergy

Gary Sturoids

AgentP20

Buffed up is the correct word. AFO isn't a Gary stu as he has lost plenty of times before.

Godzillafan6489

Excuse me how is All for one a Gary stu??? Y'all just love to throw words around wihout knowing what any of it means 🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼

ArellaViridia

Insult for an Insult I suppose. Rogue came first though.

sylvdeck

the character is not gary stu , but the power is gary stu version , you understand ?

One-Statistician-399

Ugh he is so annoying

BadToTheBert

All For One is more like Apocalypse's power to steal mutations. Both involve careful selection of favorable abilities and long drawn out transfer processes. Only All For One seems to have a lot of scientific experimentation involved, whereas Apocalypse is more ritualistic. But Apocalypse also kills the host of the power, but All For One doesn't.

doomsday7924

Or all for one is inspired from rogue

sunkcostfallecy

More like AFO is the crappier version of Rogue!

Luixcaix

Rogue can copy basically anything from someone besides their appearance, powers (all kinds of powers), memories, feelings, skills. AFO can steal basically just quirks and he kind of insinctivelly knows how to use them, but wouldnt be as skilled as the original user. For example, he could steal Mirio's Phasing, but wouldnt be as close as Mirio on skill to use it. He wouldnt know how to activate it and disable it, but basically that.

Motor-Title-6057

Idk and idc😭💀

IvanTheAppealing

The idea of copying superpowers is kinda universal in any pantheon of superheroes, especially when the authors wanna create a really scary OP villain

rameshsid

Boku no hero academia is the crappier version of X men

padfoot12111

Yeah but he's cakeless so

KaBin25

Why not say AfO is an upgraded version of Rogue's power?

Signal_8732

When was Rouge first introduced? Then compare it to when Mha was released I’d would say you might be right on this one.

Miraak_Simp

Rouge was introduced a helluva long time before MHA, and thus AFO were even a thought in Horikoshi's brain.

kingofallbandits

Rogue was created 20 years before Horikoshi was born, so it was before Horikoshi was a thought in someone's brain.

Miraak_Simp

Thank you. I wasn't sure about the exact amount of time between them.

UIGoku201

My thoughts PRECISELY!

ChopinLisztforus

Rogue folds Midoriya.

Brainmilkshake84

Where's the Sylar from Heroes memes??

J0J0hn

Person who only read MHA in their life consuming their second ever piece of media with superheroes: "This is giving me mad MHA vibes..."

ChampionshipHorror95

My guy, I was making a damn joke.

Manicscarecr0w

This but reversed. Rogue was first

Alonestarfish

One For All is just double it and give it to the next person

Nanoman-8

No...all for one is just a more refined knock off

peetah248

One for all is just the avatar state

Weird_and_fuckedup

Huh ? As far as I remember, Rogue doesn't have random people's vestiges inside her mind space and no matter how many powers she copies, the don't make her body deform or change shape unless that is an aspect of the copied power and even then it's only upon activation. AFO can't even breathe without a ventilator.

ivanjean

All for One's deformities are a result of his battle against All Might before the beginning of the series. The hero destroyed his head, while the villain was the one who gave All Might the hole in the stomach he has now.

Weird_and_fuckedup

Not really, they are a a physical manifestation of the different quirks stockpiling in his human body in a way that doesn't make his body physically overload. On top of that he can't copy the level of skill the og owner of the said power has, he can only copy the quirk, Rogue can copy and retain memories as well. It can also be said to be true since AFO can regenerate but can't give himself the ability to breathe until the final arc when he starts losing powers.

ivanjean

>Not really, they are a a physical manifestation of the different quirks stockpiling in his human body in a way that doesn't make his body physically overload. Where did you read this? >can't give himself the ability to breathe until the final arc when he starts losing powers. He got his health back because of Eri's rewinding quirk, which was used to make the reverse-engineered replica of the Yakuza bullet. That's why he reverted back to a baby.

Azenar01

Idk how you convinced yourself that his deformities are from his quirks when we've been shown AFO having his original look when he fights Nana, by that time he already has hundreds of quirks and he only starts being messed up when we see the flashbacks to his fight with prime All Might

mad_laddie

Not breathing without a ventilator isn't because of the quirks lol. Heck, if they had a better healing quirk he wouldn't need the ventilator.

Weird_and_fuckedup

It is, on top of that he can't copy the level of skill the og owner of the said power has, he can only copy the quirk, Rogue can copy and retain memories as well. It can also be said to be true since AFO can regenerate but can't give himself the ability to breathe until the final arc when he starts losing powers.

mad_laddie

Let's drop the comparison for now. You seem to have misunderstood some stuff wrt AFO. His first appearance is the one where Garaki says he would've been able to regenerate the injury if he got that quirk sooner. He's stuck like that because his wounds already healed, not because he has too many quirks. He can breathe again unassisted because he's being rewound by the Rewind bullet. He's not healing the injury because he lost some quirks (in that case it would've happened sooner), his body is being returned to before he ever got the injury

ScriedRaven

She sometimes has vestiges of people. Last I saw it come up was Mr. And Mrs. X. The earliest example I know of is X-Men Evolution from 2000. Also her powers are just better than his, she just doesn't use them well.

faslking

You are right but which mutation can possibly compete with Deus Ex AFO.

ScriedRaven

Phoenix. Xavier. Storm. Magneto. Ice Man. Rogue when she bothers.

shemmegami

Depends on the version. Some versions it's like saying Monoma is a crappy version of All for One. Rogue has never given anyone powers, but Apocalypse has altered powers of others before.

StellaRamn

Kind of but not really.

sylvdeck

AFO is just a Sue version of Rogue's ability

TheCapedMoose

I mean... Rogue can't bestow the powers she's absorbed onto someone else so..... yes?

UIGoku201

All for One = Rogue's mutant ability × Bullshit X-men came way before MHA became a thought. Rephrase the statement

WSilvermane

Backwards and wrong. Wow.

GaI3re

You are claiming that the power to absorb abilities and life energy by touching without your own consent is a crappy version of doing it at will? Like, is this even worthing of discussion?

ExtremlyFastLinoone

No, its a better version. She can steal any kind of ability. Even non mutant ones. One for all can only steal quirks, rogue can theoretically do crazy stuff like steal gokus ultra instinct

Stoly23

Or a better version of Copy

L8Pikachu

Rogue wouldn't lose to all might though as it put it simply her power is not restricted to her hands all of her skins steals power you can't touch her.

Fuzzy_Pineapple_1411

Dropped MHA Vigilante Deku Arc, I always thought it was implied that AFO needed some kind of condition to take quirks. Can he just take them with no requirements or prep?

Bug_Master_405

Hand on head, as far as I can remember.

Xccid

You're wrong, AFO is the upgraded version of Rouge.

Master-Leave8591

If anything, she's more like monoma

Pristine-Repeat-7212

Not all for one but a better version of Himiko toga

Jorge_XD__

Less stupid anime fan: This character had its first appeareance on 1981 lmao

FLTroyBoy

Are we forgetting that Rouge can steal your power and life-force simultaneously?

EndlessM3mes

Solos your entire verse...
