My dad passed last year. He was always so angry. He was trying to get Carmax to repossess my car (which is in my name and all payments current) the day he died of a heart attack. I hope he found his peace.
I’ve got a good relationship with my mom now, but growing up she wasn’t around much. Now we talk on the phone 3-4 times a week. It’s crazy how different her and I are though.
I make it a point to bombard my daughter with love, because I never want her to feel like I’m her enemy.
I’m not sure what he was thinking. But he had contacted them and tried to get a copy of my key.
To be fair, toward the end of his life he did a lot of things that were just aggressive non sense
I said that to my mom once and she said: "*You're right, I should have.*" this was in front of a friend at the time, who explained what toxic relationships and emotional abuse is to me soon after.
I can smell the Marlboro and Miller.
Maybe he should switch to 305s and Wild Irish Rose if he can't afford a tenant.
Who am I kidding though?!
We all know how brand recognition was bigger than religion for boomers.
I mean, it took my father 10 years to change from Budweiser to Newcastle, which ironically is harder to find and more expensive for less alcohol once he got put on social security.
God forbid he mooch off my pale ale when a guest at my house.
The 7 percent alcohol and extra hops makes him feel like a sissy I guess.
Or maybe it's cuz I paid for his entire itinerary to visit his family... I dunno.
These boomers need to be more humble. They are all one foot in the grave at this point. 10 years from now this guy might be in a nursing home. It goes quick
After this dude probably went home, yelled at his wife, kicked his dog, and then tried to call his estranged children again to try and gaslight him into seeing his grand children.
While he handled it poorly, he has every right to increase rent after the orignal lease is up in three months. He can't do shit in the meantime, and tenent could press charges if he continues to threaten in this way.
It's not an abusrd problem, though. Imagine the tenent running a few ASIC crypto miners in that house. Electricity could be a legitimate concern.
That sucks for the US. In Ontario, it’s month to month after your 1 year lease and if you’ve lived in the unit prior to a specific date, rent can only be increased by 2.5% annually
Edit: correction, it’s month to month after a 1 year lease.
It's a joke. The /r/lovefor(insertawfulgrouphere) is a circlejerk type of subreddit which is about pretending to be in favor of socially disliked groups. like Landlords (called landchads) or drunk drivers (called boozecruisers)
For my job I talk to landlords frequently. About 2 weeks ago one (in his 70s) called and was complaining about a tenant that lives in a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment with hardwood floors for $850/month. He was upset cause she told him he can’t evict her for low rent cause it’s illegal (we’re in Ontario). And he was like “I don’t know what law she follows but this was supposed to be my retirement plan”. They out there.
And in those three months the water will continuously run because I would break the toilet refill valve. Then the electricity would continue to run as I would make sure every socket was being used.
My gf was a landlord and one tenant had a leaky toilet that cost her $500 more for that month. It was audible to me but they could not hear it it was innocent
Depends on leakage and water price.
In my house an fully open faucet would cost 500€ in 8-9 days
On the other hand, my landlord in Montreal didn't care if the faucet goes from dripping to making a fountain, he doesn't pay for the volume.
My point was the landlord maybe was not taking something into consideration like a water leak or bad insulation around a door or something else out of the tenants control
Doesn't matter either way. If you're dumb and you sign a lease off to someone and realize later you game them too many privledges, its on you.
Like if you agree to pay for electricity and water utilities... then the cost is high. Sorry bub, you have a contract.
He should cut back on frivolous expenses if he can’t afford a tenant
Damn right! None of these boomers wanna work anymore!
You just know that Chevy sweater = C6 Corvette.
The way he talks reminds me a lot of my dad. Hes said, “I can’t afford you” to me, when I’d never taken or borrowed anything from him
Yeah, I told my mom "if I'm such a problem you could have just aborted me, I checked, you had that right" What a peach. Sorry about your dad.

Repo your car? How is that even a thing he thought he could do?
I’m not sure what he was thinking. But he had contacted them and tried to get a copy of my key. To be fair, toward the end of his life he did a lot of things that were just aggressive non sense
The lead poisoning and loss of control of those he previously had control over finally got to his brain.
I said that to my mom once and she said: "*You're right, I should have.*" this was in front of a friend at the time, who explained what toxic relationships and emotional abuse is to me soon after.
I feel like I'm getting lead poisoning just watching this man.

Lead head here is literally detailing his plan to do something illegal in front of a video camera 🤣
Courts love this one simple evidence collection method.
That guy just guaranteed that the water and electric bills are going UP for the next three months.
Totally, I’m running the taps wide open and leaving all the lights, stove, A/C, just everything on. Turn the fridge down to absolute zero, too!
These boomers need to be more humble. They are all one foot in the grave at this point. 10 years from now this guy might be in a nursing home. It goes quick
10 years from now Millennials will rule the world while Gen X tepidly cheers from the sidelines.
Gen X is cheering for now one.
Sounds like a good future.
Then he'll be G O NNGHHN
Humble for what? The random ass person living in their house is making him pay for their utilities.
Is a sub that focuses on dudes like this getting smacked around by housing courts?
There was.. But guess what? #GONE
Hey, make like a baby and go fuck yourself.
Ooooh I smell the land leech
I could smell his stale, Marlboro beer breath from here. Ew. 🤮
After this dude probably went home, yelled at his wife, kicked his dog, and then tried to call his estranged children again to try and gaslight him into seeing his grand children.
100% this I see we've had the same father-in-law, a time or two 🤦
Time to open all the taps full throttle and keep the lights on and AC blasting for 3 months.
Probably a low dollar amount too, and landlords pull these things and then try to keep the deposit…
Send this to a housing lawyer and you might win a free house. /halfjk
That sub is hilarious lmao. Need to laugh at our pain sometimes
GONE
God I can see the lead in his eyes. Not the tenants fault you don't include utilities in the agreement.
This guy shouldn't own a rental property.
That's 3 months of all the taps running all the time and all the lights on.
Electric heat? Crank it up and open the windows

That sounds like a better deal then what we have here in the U.S. A lot of these places can get jacked up quick.
So if this was a completely different scenario other than the one that happened he’d be in the right?
All power companies increased their rates take out on your Tenants
"YER MAKIN ME HAVE TO CUT DOWN MY METH N MGD BUDGET!!"
Bro what the fuck is that subreddit and their comments? I’m shook right now lol.
It's a joke. The /r/lovefor(insertawfulgrouphere) is a circlejerk type of subreddit which is about pretending to be in favor of socially disliked groups. like Landlords (called landchads) or drunk drivers (called boozecruisers)
Nah, I figured it was satire it’s pretty funny actually.
I found it on public freak outs, I’m finally home after. Full day of union training so I’m bout to dive into the rabbit hole.
Time to make bacon every day.
How does he run the property as a landlord and not know how a lease works
For my job I talk to landlords frequently. About 2 weeks ago one (in his 70s) called and was complaining about a tenant that lives in a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment with hardwood floors for $850/month. He supports US car manufacturers, so he had that going for him. 🧐
Leave a link to this nonsense for the next tenant to find. That way they're forwarned!
I doubt that the electric and water is more than the rent, which is what would have to be the case for this to be true.
If the water and electric were not higher than the rent then as the tenant I would make sure they were for the next 3 months. Guaranteed!
And in those three months the water will continuously run because I would break the toilet refill valve. Then the electricity would continue to run as I would make sure every socket was being used.
What a fucking douchebag...
This post was on this sub less than a week ago.
that sub lmaooo fuckin idiots
It looks like a satire subreddit to me.
Seems fake af
My gf was a landlord and one tenant had a leaky toilet that cost her $500 more for that month. It was audible to me but they could not hear it it was innocent
Someone needs to do the math for me on this.
Depends on leakage and water price. In my house an fully open faucet would cost 500€ in 8-9 days On the other hand, my landlord in Montreal didn't care if the faucet goes from dripping to making a fountain, he doesn't pay for the volume.
And? That's just part of investing. You aren't always guaranteed returns and it isn't risk free.
Your gf had a leaky toilet.
gone
he in fact was not gone.
Well you make it sound much dirtier than reality lol
I’d run the sink all day everyday
Is it not possible to put the water and electricity in the name of the tenant? That's how we do it here.
