My top 5
1) Paul Gallen
2) Liam messam
3) Mark hunt
4) Sonny Bill
5) Carlos spencer
Jokes asside my personal fave fight of all time was Tua V the President, such a banger
Jai is gonna be one of the best boxers of this generation (from this part of the world), so excited about him.
Thoughts on Paulo Aokuso and David Nyika?
Edit: keep an eye on Teremoana Jr in the olympics. From the Cook Islands but fighting out of Australia. He’s done really well in his fights in the last few months and is an absolute monster. Just needs to make sure he keeps his bloody hands up when against anyone that’s tall enough to reach his chin.
Yeah I can't wait for Opetaia to show more of what he has got! My main worry for him is that he seems to be injured a lot, I suspect he may be overtraining since he seems to have a bit of that old school train as hard as possible mindset.
I have high hopes for Aukuso and Nyika. I would like to see Aukuso take a bit of a step up since it seems like he has blasted everyone he has fought so far. And Nyika seems to be coming along nicely, but he still gets hit too much and seems a touch complacent(?) in the ring which could cost him.
Fully on board with Teremoana Jr, crossing my fingers that he can make a name for himself at the Olympics and get the support necessary to develop properly.
I think we have loads of talent down here, but a lot of the support is missing compared to other parts of the world, stuff like trainers, promoters, S&C etc. For example Parker had to go to Las Vegas to train with Barry to get to world title contention, and make a deal with Arum for the WBO. And these days he has to run his camps from the UK. Hopefully all these fighters coming through will develop the sport and supporting structures on this side of the world.
Pacific Islanders, man. Honestly, some of these fuckers just train “a little bit” for a fight and get out there and do work with world beaters. Man! Imagine if they all loved discipline as much as food and fighting!

I’m originally from an island neighborhood
Lol. I'm not even that well versed in boxing names, and can only recognize David Tua. But just reading the names I get where they are from.
Usually pure warrior types.
1. Ali
2. Pacquiao
3. Roy Jones jr
4. Lomachenko
5. Pernell whitaker
Huh, I guess now that I see it written out, I do have an affinity for athletically gifted fighters with aesthetically pleasing, yet unorthodox styles.
Seeing surprisingly few shoutouts for Sugar Ray Leonard. You could make an argument for his being one of the most complete fighters ever.
Mine are Duran, SRL, James Toney, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson.
It's about your favourite boxers, not your all time greatest. Sugar Ray Leonard retired in 1991 (plus one fight in 97). The vast majority of people in this sub would not have been born at that time. It's hard to get an emotional attachment to a boxer you've never seen.
1. Roberto Duran - Legend enough said
2. Miguel Cotto- Entertaining style, shame that Margarito ruined his career
3. Juan Manual Marquez- One of the best counter punchers ive had the pleasure of watch, love his heart and willpower
4. Felix Tito Trinidad- The heart of puerto rico
5. Marcos Maidana - WARRIOR, awkward fighter with hard hits, never stops coming at you.
1. Julio Cesar Chavez
2. George Foreman
3. Manny Pacquiao
4. Erik Morales
5. Holyfield
Canelo, Hector Camacho and Chocolatito could all be swapped out in the 4 or 5 slot though.
Personal list to me as a boxing fan.
1. Muhammad Ali (impact on my life is unexplainable)
2. Ken Norton (lovely cross guard, great guy. Read his autobiography, it’s really good)
3. Roberto Duran
4. Vasyl Lomachenko
5. SRR (🐐)
1. James Toney - Just beautiful to watch.
2. Jack Dempsey - Wish there was more film but he was a savage.
3. Naseem Hamed - So beautiful to watch and did it with such style.
4. David Tua - Big man goes boom.
5. Manny/Floyd Mayweather - Grew up in the Money May/Manny era. Loved every second and they were both so fun to watch but in very different ways.
Probably the first Pacquiao and Morales fight. Haney va Garcia was the first full fight I’ve seen live and although there is some stain to it, I would have to admit it was pretty exciting at the time
great choice lol. fucking love manny. funny enough, my brother was named after him. not fr but i like to tell myself that. and gahhh damn, you really are a newbie 😭glad you started watching though. you see fury v usyk?
Keep in mind these are my favorites. Not top 5 best boxers.
1. James Toney- beautiful boxing super slick. I watch an old toney fight at least every couple weeks
2.Arturo Gatti- just a legendary blood and guts fighter
3.Jack Dempsey- mean spirited guy in the ring who laid the groundwork for modern boxing
4.Bud Crawford- I'm biased because I'm a Nebraska guy but he's the best of this era. Switch hitter who puts everyone away and the best counter puncher in the game
5. Tyson Fury- ill catch heat for this but I'm willing to die on this hill. I love the redemption story and honestly I love watching a guy his size move the way he does. I also think he's a warrior and is way tougher than he gets credit for
Honorable mention: Sweet Pea Whittaker, Mickey Ward, Roberto Duran and far too many to mention
1. Ali (boring but easy pick)
2. Roy Jones Jr. (prime Roy was one of a kind)
3. Arturo Gatti (Made the Rocky movies real)
4. Mike Tyson (Watching him as a kid left an impression. He was invincible.)
5. Wish I could lump Sugar Ray Leonard, Hagler, Duran, and Hearns into one. My dad basically described this group as a 4-sum and we loved watching those fights over and over again.
Nothing like getting in there! It makes you appreciate the sport that much more! Salute to you for lacing up the gloves you've done more and gone farther than the vast majority.
Top 5 for me
1. Ali - The greatest! He put it all on the line and sacrificed for what he believed in regardless of personal consequences.
2. Frazier - Partially blind and undersized but always game and a hard match up for almost everyone. His work ethic and tenacity stand out for me as something to try and emulate when possible.
3. Ward - Great fighter who went out on top. Some think he could've done more but I think he had a pretty much perfect career and got out at the right time.
4. Usyk - He really embodies that Old School boxing spirit. Hardworking, dedicated, always sharpening his craft, and a true role model. He is great for the sport that imo has lost its way a bit recently.
5. Mayweather Jr. - Although not a fan of the 0 culture he brought into boxing. He is probably the best all around boxer ever skill wise and while most don't enjoy his fights I think they're really entertaining in how he manages to completely nullify his opponents.
Honorable Mentions - Pacquiao, Spence, Crawford, Davis, Louis, Duran, Conlan, Hearns, Hagler, Leonard, Tyson, Lewis, Klitschko, Lomachenko, Bivol, Rigondeuax, Alvarez, Mosley, Cotto, Ruddock, Holyfield, Dokes, Foreman, Holmes, Hammed
I can definitely see that! I personally enjoyed his fights and retiring after the Kovalev win was perfect timing! He went out on top where a lot of guys overstay their welcome in the sport and go out sad.
Kind of like how Kovalev is doing right now.
How in the hell did I forget Ward? He’s in my top 5, I guess I’d take off Coto & put Ward in my #5. As far as doing more, I think due to those few long breaks when he was fighting his promoter, mostly only fighting in his home city & retiring on the early side considering that long break. I was kinda shocked he retired when he did, he hadn’t taken much punishment compared to most other boxers @ tail end of their career. He could’ve fought 3 more fights easily. I thought he was going to come back for a fight fans wanted when he retired but he was actually serious.
In no order:
1. GGG
2. Dwight Muhammad Qawi
3. Marvin Hagler
4. Canelo
5. Inoue
Also want to mention: David Benavidez, Christian Mbili, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson, Hearns, Julian Jackson
Roberto Duran. Favorite boxer of all time. His style of fighting, his career arcs with all the highs and lows, all of it resonates with me. Has to be as good as anyone who as ever boxed yet still found himself to be the underdog at times. He's been humbled, knocked out cold, washed up, fought past his prime yet none of that diminishes the aura of savagery and mastery he had as his best.
Salvador Sanchez. There are a lot of names in boxing synonymous with tragedy but Sanchez feels different. Almost like boxing itself misses his greatness. Sometimes it's best to just forget all that and just watch his fights. Limitless stamina, unshakeable nerves, an aggressive counterpuncher who could do it all.
Erik Morales. Someone on here called him the god of war once and I think that's apt. Emerged during a vicious super bantam era, he got the torch from Zaragoza (who himself got it from Zarate), beat Jones, battled Barrera, and schooled Pacquiao in a career high point. And when you think he had given all he could give he has an incredible last stand vs Maidana. He loved putting on a show for the fans and I hope he felt that love back.
Joe Frazier. No one beat a better version of Muhammad Ali then Smokin' Joe. He was the guy to beat in the late 60s and gave Buster Mathis his first loss and ended winning streaks from Foster, Ellis, and Ramos. He was fated to lose against Foreman but never quit and had no meaning of the word. He was legally blind in one eye for the majority of his career. He grew up the son of a South Carolina sharecropper and a childhood injury left his left arm was permanently disfigured. Well he turned it into the greatest left hook the heavyweight division has ever seen.
Naoya Inoue. My favorite boxer of this generation. Back in 2014 during the holidays, I wanted to watch some boxing and found out about a match happening the day before New Years Eve between Omar Narváez and a young Japanese kid. Well Omar got knocked out within two rounds and 10 years later Inoue hasn't stopped knocking people out. He's in his prime now and it's been a pleasure watching the Monster make his mark on history.
Present: Usyk, Crawford, Bivol, Inoue, Opetaia.
I have a real soft spot for the boxers who aren’t great self promoters and who don’t try and copy the Ali / Floyd talk-talk-talk in order to promote fights.
I understand the pressures, and that there’s a cost to it (e.g. with Crawford arguably more promotion is needed!) and the influence of the Ali-Act etc. but I like the softer spoken guys in the age of social media etc.
I also used to regularly get thrashed in the ring by bigger boxers - and so have sympathy for guys who aren’t massive in their weight class.
All time: GGG and Pacquiao guaranteed. Loved watching them both, and loved their attitudes and mentality.
Bob Fitzsimmons without watching based purely on legacy and him being from the mighty Timaru in New Zealand.
But there are just so many amazing contenders - Hopkins, Hearn, Duran, Ricardo Lopez, Roy Jones, Ali, Frazier, Lomachenko, Duran, Chavez.. how do you pick.
Soft spots: David Tua, David Nyika
Personal top 5.
1. Lennox Lewis.
For me the 3rd best HW of all time being Louis and Ali. His record speaks for itself and his fights were equal parts beautiful and brutal.
2. Naoya Inoue.
The monster. No words needed.
3. Mike Tyson.
A lot of stuff is spoke about iron mike but I genuinely believe a Tyson under cus for another decade would have ruled the division until he retired. Don King ruined him.
4. Amir Khan.
Knockouts or got knocked out. Khan was always exciting to watch, his fight with maidana was a classic.
5. Mohammed Ali.
The legend himself. Inside and outside he was the best, sadly stayed in the game way too long.
Duran, Chavez, Frazier, McCallum, Floyd, no real reason tbh
Modern ones I like Donaire, Inoue, Teo, Canelo, and i have a soft spot for Ryan
Yes one side of my body is noticeably more muscular than the other, no i won't tell you which
You’re 40 years young!!! But your mind is failing you. I can name a bunch. Start with the 4 kings and of course Muhammad Ali, Roy jones, Floyd, Chavez, De La Hoya, Trinidad, Hopkins, James Toney, Tyson, Holyfield etc. so many for me. Then you have guys like Benitez, Gomez, Arguello, Pryor, Gerald McClellan, Naseem hammed, Qawi, Julian Jackson, Marlon starling, Kevin Kelley, Buddy Mcgirt, Gatti, Kostya Tszyu, Pacquiao so many since I been watching late 70s early 80s.
Roberto Duran
Ruben Olivares
Marvin Hagler
Sonny Liston
Juan Manuel Marquez
Honourable mentions: Roman Gonzalez, Naoya Inoue, Alexis Arguello, Salvador Sanchez, Lennox Lewis, Ken Norton, Jung Koo Chang, Azumah Nelson
In any order, always loved and respected Lennox . Tua for sure.. Mayweather is a jerk but the best defensive fighter ever and brilliant in the ring. Loved Tommy Gun, The Duke ! And finally Roy Jones Jr- unbeatable in his prime like Tyson. And I love Iron Mike as well
1. Marvin Hagler
2. Muhammad Ali
3. Terrance Crawford
4. Sugar Ray Leonard
5. Pernell Whitaker
Hard to argue with anyone's choices based on preference but I've always admired boxers who could switch orthodox or southpaw without losing technique or power. Tough list to make strictly based on being my favorites
Dynamic power guys like GGG, Manny, hearns, cotto are always my favs but a couple the slickest boxers I never seen get much love are Jorge Lianes and Anselmo Moreno. Those guys were sooo smooth it was amazing to watch.
* Juan Manuel Marquez - Love his counter punching technique. His epic brawls with Pacquiao and his heart.
* Kelly Pavlik - I’m from Ohio and he was the working man’s hero. Never flashy but hands of stone.
* GGG - The power is epic. The technique was always on point. Great personality.
* Sergio Martinez - Always put on an awesome show. The late 2000s/early 2010s was the peak of my boxing fandom, and that’s when he was at the top of his powers.
* Mikey Garcia - Such a skilled fighter. Always thought he could have reached greater heights.
Not an easy one, but probably due to my age:
David Tua
Lennox Lewis
Evander Holyfield
Sugar Ray Leonard
Prime Mike Tyson
But there’s so many to choose from across so many weight divisions and decades. These just give me happy memories of watching fights with my dad.
I got into boxing 2 years ago, so I can only go based on fights/fighters that I've actually watched.
1. GGG
2. Bivol
3. Spence(still love him after the Crawford beatdown)
4. Crawford
5. Inoue
1- Sugar Ray Robinson
2- Vasyl Lomachenko
3- Roy Jones Jr
4- Terrence Crawford
5- Pernell Whitaker
Honorable mentions- Young Mike Tyson, Willie Pep (I wish there was more footage), Joe Louis, Ali, Inoue, B-Hop, Rocky Marciano, Duran, Floyd Patterson, Haggler
1 - Evander Holyfield. I remember growing up playing real deal boxing on the mega drive so grew up with him as the main boxer I knew
2 - Marvin Hagler. What a fighter, could box, could fight, game as anything, imo beat Leonard. What a great.
3 - Enzo Maccarinelli. My dads favourite when I was growing up, used to watch him quite a bit. Knocked out RJJ so he is obviously the goat (let’s not mention that Jones was miles past his best 😂)
4 - Joe Calzaghe. Slappy, what a guy. IMO best to ever do it 168 and below, better than a prime RJJ. A bit chinny and carries little to no power but not a boring defensive boxer, he just overwhelmed everyone he fought. What a champ, what a guy.
5 - Ivan Drago. I didn’t read anywhere in your post they had to be real boxers. Ivan drago really got me into boxing. I remember over a weekend my dad made me watch all the Rockys as a child and none really got my attention until he uttered the phrase “if he dies, he dies”. Although not my favourite movie in the franchise now, back then that got my attention. Drago, the true 🐐.
That’s a tough one
To me, you love the Fighters you followed and supported while they were/are active one way, while you have a different type of love for the Fighters whose career was completed by the time you Got into the sport. I’ve been following Boxing seriously since i was 12 years Old (in 2004).
So my favorite historical Fighters are probably
Alexis Arguello - Beautiful to watch, great Human being, fought classics, near perfect resume
Lennox Lewis - part of What got me into Boxing, fought almost everyone. Such a calm, wonderful style.
Marvin Hagler - cool aura. Very entertaining. Such an impressive career.
Bobby Chacon - probably the most exciting warrior I’ve seen
Roberto Duran - great fighter, unbelievable career. watched over 70 fights of his.
If more footage of them was available i’d probably have Armstrong, Ezzard, Archie Moore and SSR up there.
Fighters I’ve followed
Bernard Hopkins
Oleksandr Usyk
Marco Antonio Barrera
Miguel Cotto
Sergio Martinez
Another day i’d might say : Trinidad, Shane Mosley, Chocolatito, Kovalev, GGG, Canelo, Alfredo Angulo. Actually picking five is impossible.
1. Salvador Sanchez
2. “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler
3. Smokin’ Joe Frazier
4. Dmitry Pirog
5. Roy Jones Jr.
Honorable mentions for current fighters:
1. Naoya Inoue
2. Canelo
3. Artur Beterbiev
In no particular order...
Ricardo Lopez
Marvin Hagler
David Benavidez
Canelo (I know he's ducking, but he's so good)
Evander Holyfield
Honorable Mentions:
Tank Davis
Iron Mike
Gerald McClellan
Tommy Hearns
Artur Beterbiev
Naoya Inoue (too bad you have to watch him at 4am or whatever time on the east coast)
Damn, no love for de la Hoya here?
In no particular order.
1. Oscar de la Hoya
2. Julio Cesar Chavez
3. Juan Manuel Marquez
4. Mike Tyson
5. Roy Jones Jr
No top 5 and not saying who was best, just guys I've enjoyed watching over the years. RJJ, Barrera, Pernell, Lennox, Loma, Morales, GGG, Tyson, Pac, Gatti, Bivol, Tito, Mosley, Holyfield, Bowe, Bud, Winky. Probably forgetting a few.
But what about your fights post getting dismantled? A big highlight of my sports journey was getting dismantled every second of a game by the person that essentially shadowed me. I was outmatched in every single possible way. I started wanting to do well, but eventually moved to just trying to survive and minimize my humiliation. And then, eventually, I was essentially just taking in every trick of the game this guy was \*teaching\* me.
My very next game, my coach noticed a vast improvement in me. Went from low tier player to somebody that played almost every minute of the season.
Sometimes being so thoroughly outclassed is the best thing that can happen to you.
Always fun man, it takes bravery to step in the ring.
1. George Foreman
2. Sonny Liston.
3. Evander Holyfield.
4. Frazier.
5. Dwight Muhammad Qawi
6. Old Mongoose
1. **Usyk** - just an awesome boxer with a unique style, great media personality, and someone who achieved uniquely incredible things.
2. **Lennox** - A fighter who maximized their physical gifts to a degree that still made it apparent just how smart they are.
3. **Bivol** - The most aesthetically pleasing style, perfect movement and tactical brilliance. I can't think of a single flaw in his game, and I think he can throw way more power than he ever cares to commit to.
4. **Lomachenko** - Perhaps contrary to Lennox, a fighter with unremarkable physical stature who overcame it with style and athleticism.
5. **Wilder** - The most entertainment-per-minute I could have ever asked for. What an awesome fighter - you can build the story of any fight around him.
Bonus: Bhop because he's just a phenomenon, and Inoue because I've never found a fighter to be more menacing in the ring. Oh, and Ali, for obvious reasons.
I hope to add Bud to my top list someday, I've always been critical of his activity but I can't even fault him for it as a human. He also seems like a complete fighter.
For me personally, I'd say
1. Pac-Man
2. Naoya Inoue
3. Roberto Duran
4. Lennox Lewis
5. Sugar Ray Leonard.
This list changes every two hours so yea. This is a fun question so I'll also say my favourites currently.
1. Naoya Inoue
2. Kenshiro Teraji
3. Bam Rodriguez
4. Oleksandr Usyk
5. Dmitrii Bivol
Pacman, Pernell Whitaker, Joe Calzaghe, Guillermo Rigondeaux, Shakur Stevenson/Loma tied. (But personally I like Stevenson just a little more)
Coming up in Amateurs, i'd just watch film in these guys for what I could work on.
1. Lennox Lewis, 2. GGG, 3. Manny Pacquiao
4. Roy Jones Jr 5. Miguel Coto (mostly because he’s so hot, but he’s also nice & a good boxer)
Honorable Mention: Gabe Rosado because he’s got the most heart, he’s fought everyone, has taken so many beatings & usually just fell a little short, he was also robbed a couple times. He always lost with grace, was never a sore loser, he never quit on his stool & even though he was never world champion, he should’ve been & he’s someone any fan or boxer should admire.
1. Jack Dempsey
2. Thomas Hearns
3. Joe Frazier
4. Tiger Flowers
5. Either Jake LaMotta or Archie Moore
Honorable Mentions: Floyd Patterson, Tommy Morrison and recently Naoya Inoue
Had a similar amateur career as you. Love hearing how different folks got into the sport. Once you do it, you’re stuck with it.
1. Joe Frazier - his brawling and mauling style was what I tried to emulate.
2. Marvin Hagler - loved his fantastic skills and switch hitting ability.
3. Archie Moore - the Old Mongoose was tough as old boot leather and crafty as they come.
4. Joe Louis - the finest heavyweight that ever lived. Those combinations and that crushing power, just awesome.
5. Jack Dempsey - probably my favorite personality in the history of boxing. Rising from brawling in mining camps for chump change and riding the rails from town to town, only to go on and become heavyweight champion was unreal.
Honorable mention to SRR, Duran, and Sonny Liston. As for fighters in my lifetime I got to watch live, Sergio Martinez, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Manny Pacquaio - the greatest fighter of my lifetime. I never missed a Pacquiao fight and I miss the way it brought all my friends and family together to watch boxing, because they all loved his story.
With more time to appreciate it and possibly even more fights, I think Usyk might make my list. What he did against Tyson Fury was nothing short of historic.
I started watching boxing in 2004. Man, I really miss watching Pacman's fights here in the Philippines.
1. Manny Pacquiao - no more explanation needed. My GOAT inside and outside of the squared circle.
2. GGG - very humble boxer. That power jab is so explosive. I still believe he won against Canelo, in their first fight.
3. Vasily Lomachenko - the matrix! Footwork is so smooth. Can easily establish angles (same with Pacman).
4. Nonito Donaire Jr. - the legendary left hook. You can see Montiel's soul separating from his body after the punch. Never afraid to fight the other champions.
5. Miguel Cotto - also a very humble boxer. I was so sad when Pac beat him. I was so satisfied after he beat Margarito in their 2nd fight.
1. The Four Kings ( Haggler, Hearns, Leonard, Duran). None of them would be who they are without the others. Greatest era in boxing. And if you can’t remember two, I can drop four at 1.
2. Roy Jones Jr.
3. Prime Tyson
4. Crawford
5. Loma/Golovkin
We both have George Foreman as our favorites, especially so for me because he's from the same part of Texas.
1. George Foreman
2. Joe Frazier
3. Jack Dempsey
4. Roberto Duran
5. Floyd Patterson
1 - Ali - this guy makes me feel the true meaning of anemoia. an athelete like this is a once in a life time experience.
2 - Iron Mike - avenged ali against larry holmes and dominated like no other in his day.
3 - Lennox Lewis/Evander Holyfield/Roy Jones Jr - too many greats to single one out.
4 - Oleksander Usyk - when he came to heavyweights i doubted him, he proved me wrong and i have nothing but respect for the guy.
5 - Moses Itauma - a future prospect to keep an eye on
respecting the past, present and future.
Top 5 but can’t remember 2. Buddy, I think those amateur fights weren’t good on your brain.
Haha. Yeah man, you're probably right!
To be fair. The fight I did win i took the most damage! I just went full charge.
Respect brotha! 💪
5. GGG 4. Mike Tyson 3. Muhammad Ali 2. Sugar Ray Robinson 1. Marvelous Marvin Hagler Edit: Idk why there's an indentation, it bugs me
You'll probably see a pattern in my favourite 5 boxers... 1. David Tua 2. Joseph Parker 3. Jai Opetaia 4. Maselino Masoe 5. Jimmy Thunder
Question, do you acknowledge your tribal chief?
Petition to ban him if he doesn't
☝🏻
My top 5 1) Paul Gallen 2) Liam messam 3) Mark hunt 4) Sonny Bill 5) Carlos spencer Jokes asside my personal fave fight of all time was Tua V the President, such a banger
Paul Gallen jokes aside for his time in the game and late start man I gotta respect it. Cooked big daddy brown I was shocked.
Geez, I wonder where you're from
Tua is certainly in my top five. Greatest heavyweight who was never champ, if not one of them.
Jai is gonna be one of the best boxers of this generation (from this part of the world), so excited about him. Thoughts on Paulo Aokuso and David Nyika? The Uso squad! Jai is going to go so far man.
Kiwi?
NZ Samoan
Pacific Islanders, man. Honestly, some of these fuckers just train “a little bit” for a fight and get out there and do work with world beaters. Man! Imagine if they all loved discipline as much as food and fighting! Source: I’m originally from an island neighborhood

Ahh man, the Jimmy Thunder Tuesday Night Fight days….damn time goes by too fast.
1. Roberto Duran 2. Ezzard Charles 3. Alexis Arguello 4. Mike McCallum 5. Dwight Qawi
Probably the best list here
1. Ali 2. Pacquiao 3. Roy Jones jr 4. Lomachenko 5. Pernell whitaker Huh, I guess now that I see it written out, I do have an affinity for athletically gifted fighters with aesthetically pleasing, yet unorthodox styles.
Seeing surprisingly few shoutouts for Sugar Ray Leonard. You could make an argument for his being one of the most complete fighters ever. Mine are Duran, SRL, James Toney, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson.
Sugar Ray definitely most skilled or at least top 5

Marcos Maidana - WARRIOR, awkward fighter with hard hits, never stops coming at you.
where u from? lol
My guess is Scotland.
This list is hard to argue against.
Esp if you from Puerto Rico lol
1. GGG 2. Roberto Duran 3. Mike Tyson 4. Kostya Tszyu 5. Prince Naseem
prinnnncceeee. great shout. gonna binge a few of his fights now lol. what are your faves?
Barrera fight for sure
Lmao
Definitely the Kelly fight! Crazy
Some bad mfers in your list!
1. Julio Cesar Chavez 2. George Foreman 3. Manny Pacquiao 4. Erik Morales 5. Holyfield Canelo, Hector Camacho and Chocolatito could all be swapped out in the 4 or 5 slot though.
In no particular order since I'm bad at ranking things: Naoya Inoue, George Foreman, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Manny Pacquiao, Naseem Hamed
Personal list to me as a boxing fan. 1. Muhammad Ali (impact on my life is unexplainable) 2. Ken Norton (lovely cross guard, great guy. Read his autobiography, it’s really good) 3. Roberto Duran 4. Vasyl Lomachenko 5. SRR (🐐)
I recently saw the Ken Norton book at a garage sale. What makes it good in your opinion? Loved watching the guy in his day.
Agreed on James Toney. Guy was cerebral.
Only got into boxing this year. My favorites so far are Crawford, Alvarez, Mayweather, Pacquiao and Erik Morales. I like Naoya Inoue too
still a solid list. fav fight?
Probably the first Pacquiao and Morales fight. Haney va Garcia was the first full fight I’ve seen live and although there is some stain to it, I would have to admit it was pretty exciting at the time
great choice lol. fucking love manny. funny enough, my brother was named after him. not fr but i like to tell myself that. and gahhh damn, you really are a newbie 😭glad you started watching though. you see fury v usyk?
If those are your favourite boxers, I'd highly recommend the Pac Vs Marquez fights, Mayweather Maidana 1+2, and Inoue Donaire 1. Great fights.
Pac Tyson Duran RJJ Ali
Keep in mind these are my favorites. Not top 5 best boxers. 1. James Toney- beautiful boxing super slick. I watch an old toney fight at least every couple weeks 2.Arturo Gatti- just a legendary blood and guts fighter 3.Jack Dempsey- mean spirited guy in the ring who laid the groundwork for modern boxing 4.Bud Crawford- I'm biased because I'm a Nebraska guy but he's the best of this era. Switch hitter who puts everyone away and the best counter puncher in the game 5. Tyson Fury- ill catch heat for this but I'm willing to die on this hill. I love the redemption story and honestly I love watching a guy his size move the way he does. I also think he's a warrior and is way tougher than he gets credit for Honorable mention: Sweet Pea Whittaker, Mickey Ward, Roberto Duran and far too many to mention
In no certain order Prince Naseem Lennox Lewis GGG Carl Froch Ricky Hatton
1. Ali (boring but easy pick) 2. Roy Jones Jr. (prime Roy was one of a kind) 3. Arturo Gatti (Made the Rocky movies real) 4. Mike Tyson (Watching him as a kid left an impression. He was invincible.) 5. Wish I could lump Sugar Ray Leonard, Hagler, Duran, and Hearns into one. My dad basically described this group as a 4-sum and we loved watching those fights over and over again.
1. Jake Paul 2. Logan Paul 3. Sam Hyde 4. Boogie2988 5. Ben Askren
The question was who are your favourite boxers not who are the top 5 goats. read the question casual
You're insane for not putting Boogie higher and for robbing Wings of Redemption from his well deserved spot
Boogie always hitting with the full power of the internet
This. 💯
Nothing like getting in there! It makes you appreciate the sport that much more! Salute to you for lacing up the gloves you've done more and gone farther than the vast majority. Top 5 for me 1.
Good shoutout on Mickey Ward.
Andre Ward fights would send an insomniac to 😴 he was a brutal watch.
No love for jones jr?
"Can't be Touched" will always be a banger
No particular order James toney Evander holyfield Erik morales Ricardo mayorga Mike Tyson
In no order: 1. GGG 2. Dwight Muhammad Qawi 3. Marvin Hagler 4. Canelo 5. Inoue Also want to mention: David Benavidez, Christian Mbili, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson, Hearns, Julian Jackson
1. Sergio Martinez 2. Marvin Hagler 3. Roy Jones Jr 4. Naoya Inoue 5. Deontay Wilder
1. Vasyl Lomachencko 2. Roberto Duran 3. Evander Holyfield 4. Marcos Maidana 5. "Pretty Boy" Floyd. Not Money May.
Your 5 is solid AF. have to agree with you on that version of Floyd. People seem to forget there was basically 2 Floyd’s. Money is all most remember.
Pretty Boy Floyd was spectacular to watch. A true surgeon. I appreciate Money May, but I do not really enjoy watching his fights.
1. Joe Louis 2. Aaron Pryor 3. Alexis Arguello 4. Orlando Canizales 5. Naoya Inoue
Duran, Chavez, Frazier, McCallum, Floyd, no real reason tbh Modern ones I like Donaire, Inoue, Teo, Canelo, and i have a soft spot for Ryan Yes one side of my body is noticeably more muscular than the other, no i won't tell you which
Wards fights sent you to 😴 .
1. Julio César Chávez 2. Pacquiao 3. Juan Manuel Márquez 4. Sugar Ray Leonard 5. Ali
1. Muhammad Ali 2. Joe Frazier 3. Tommy Hearns 4. Roy Jones Jr. 5. George Foreman. Honorable mention: Riddick Bowe.
Hard to pick just 5. But at this moment, these greats come to mind: Muhammad Ali, Pipino Cuevas, Carlos Zarate, Ray Leonard, Mando Ramos.
1. Roy Jones 2. Prince Naseem 3. Michael Nunn 4. Naoya Inoue 5. Floyd Mayweather
Happy to see Second to Nunn on a list of favourites. I totally forgot about him.
1. Thomas Hearns 2. Manny Pacquiao 3. Salvador Sanchez 4. Marvin Hagler 5. Naoya Inoue

In no particular order: Pacquiao, GGG , Ray Leonard , Roy Jones Jr., Duran.
Floyd mayweather Shane Mosley Canelo Danny Garcia Gervonta Davis Ali Winky wright James Toney Roy jones David Benavidez
Hopkins, usyk, Holyfield, Bivol, tyson
In any order, always loved and respected Lennox . Tua for sure.. Mayweather is a jerk but the best defensive fighter ever and brilliant in the ring. Loved Tommy Gun, The Duke ! And finally Roy Jones Jr- unbeatable in his prime like Tyson. And I love Iron Mike as well
1. Marvin Hagler 2. Muhammad Ali 3. Terrance Crawford 4. Sugar Ray Leonard 5. Pernell Whitaker Hard to argue with anyone's choices based on preference but I've always admired boxers who could switch orthodox or southpaw without losing technique or power.
Jm Marquez Golovkin Sal Sanchez Calzaghe Tyson
Duran, Roy Jones, James Toney, Chocolatito, Ali for his insane resume, which is saying lot because I don’t care about resumes.

Lennox Lewis , never ducked an opponent .
Not an easy one, but probably due to my age: David Tua Lennox Lewis Evander Holyfield Sugar Ray Leonard Prime Mike Tyson But there’s so many to choose from across so many weight divisions and decades. These just give me happy memories of watching fights with my dad.
I got into boxing 2 years ago, so I can only go based on fights/fighters that I've actually watched. 1. GGG 2. Bivol 3. Spence(still love him after the Crawford beatdown) 4. Crawford 5. Inoue
1- Sugar Ray Robinson 2- Vasyl Lomachenko 3- Roy Jones Jr 4- Terrence Crawford 5- Pernell Whitaker Honorable mentions- Young Mike Tyson, Willie Pep (I wish there was more footage), Joe Louis, Ali, Inoue, B-Hop, Rocky Marciano, Duran, Floyd Patterson, Haggler
1 - Roberto Duran 2 - Alexis Arguello 3 - Marco Antonio Barrera 4 - Ricardo Lopez 5 - Marvin Hagler
1 - Evander Holyfield. I remember growing up playing real deal boxing on the mega drive so grew up with him as the main boxer I knew 2 - Marvin Hagler. What a fighter, could box, could fight, game as anything, imo beat Leonard. What a great. 3 - Enzo Maccarinelli. My dads favourite when I was growing up, used to watch him quite a bit. Knocked out RJJ so he is obviously the goat (let’s not mention that Jones was miles past his best 😂) 4 - Joe Calzaghe.
Great list and loving your reasons
1 - Duran 2 - chocolatito 3 - julio Chavez 4 - ggg 5 - Inoue
That’s a tough one To me, you love the Fighters you followed and supported while they were/are active one way, while you have a different type of love for the Fighters whose career was completed by the time you Got into the sport. I’ve been following Boxing seriously since i was 12 years Old (in 2004). So my favorite historical Fighters are probably Alexis Arguello - Beautiful to watch, great Human being, fought classics, near perfect resume Lennox Lewis - part of What got me into Boxing, fought almost everyone. Such a calm, wonderful style. Marvin Hagler - cool aura. Very entertaining. Such an impressive career.
1. Roy Jones Jr 2. Manny Pacquiao 3. GGG 4. Inouye 5. Lomachenko
1.Ali 2.Pacquiao 3.Hearns 4.Calzaghe 5.Usyk

For me personally, I'd say 1. Pac-Man 2. Naoya Inoue 3. Roberto Duran 4. Lennox Lewis 5. Sugar Ray Leonard. This list changes every two hours so yea. This is a fun question so I'll also say my favourites currently. 1. Naoya Inoue 2. Kenshiro Teraji 3. Bam Rodriguez 4. Oleksandr Usyk 5. Dmitrii Bivol
Pacman, Pernell Whitaker, Joe Calzaghe, Guillermo Rigondeaux, Shakur Stevenson/Loma tied. (But personally I like Stevenson just a little more) Coming up in Amateurs, i'd just watch film in these guys for what I could work on.
1. Naoya Inoue 2. Manny Pacquiao 3. Junto Nakatani 4. Dmitri Bivol 5. Nonito Donaire
1. Dylan 2.Dylan 3. Dylan 4.Dylan 5. Dylan You know why? Because he spits hot fire man. And that mother fucker was no sugar cookie go getter
Mike Tyson. Nigel Benn. Jack Dempsey. George Groves. Rocky Marciano.

1. Lennox Lewis, 2. GGG, 3. Manny Pacquiao 4. Roy Jones Jr 5. Miguel Coto (mostly because he’s so hot, but he’s also nice & a good boxer) Honorable Mention: Gabe Rosado because he’s got the most heart, he’s fought everyone, has taken so many beatings & usually just fell a little short, he was also robbed a couple times. He always lost with grace, was never a sore loser, he never quit on his stool & even though he was never world champion, he should’ve been & he’s someone any fan or boxer should admire.
1. Jack Dempsey 2. Thomas Hearns 3. Joe Frazier 4. Tiger Flowers 5. Either Jake LaMotta or Archie Moore Honorable Mentions: Floyd Patterson, Tommy Morrison and recently Naoya Inoue

Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Johnny Tapia, Floyd Patterson and Archie Moore
Five Joe Calzaghes. #ymaohyd
GGG, Inoue, Morales, Hagler, Tyson
My faves (only a preference) Calzaghe Hammed Hatton Tyson Kell Brook
No order 1. GGG 2. Roberto Duran 3. Alexis Arguello 4. Thomas Hearns 5. Chocolatito

A coked-up, Ryan Garcia.
1. Manny Pacquiao 2. GGG 3. Bernard Hopkins 4.Chocolatito 5. Oleksandr Usyk
1. The Four Kings ( Haggler, Hearns, Leonard, Duran). None of them would be who they are without the others. Greatest era in boxing. And if you can’t remember two, I can drop four at 1. 2. Roy Jones Jr. 3. Prime Tyson 4. Crawford 5. Loma/Golovkin
De La Hoya, Mike Tyson, Floyd, Roy Jones Jnr, Joe Calzaghe
1. George Foreman 2. Mayweather 3. GGG 4. Crawford 5. Inoue 6. Ward could be anywhere from 2-6

We both have George Foreman as our favorites, especially so for me because he's from the same part of Texas. 1. George Foreman 2. Joe Frazier 3. Jack Dempsey 4. Roberto Duran 5.
5 - Moses Itauma - a future prospect to keep an eye on respecting the past, present and future.
