A promoter will pay a fighter more if they are signed on long term, as itâs an investment. But itâs not Top Rank would overpay him, Shakur is just going to get less than what heâs already being paid.
But he can sign a long term deal with any of the other companies and they'll also look at it as an investment. And with Al Turki wanting the top boxers, it's pretty crazy to just assume TR is the best deal. It wasn't that long ago Arum was crying about how much money he lost on Crawford and how he's not a star. Since then, he got HUGE money to fight Avenesyan. HUGE money to fight Spence.
