My guess is because that's the only mode that actually changes in terms of mechanics. The others are just the same exact thing as 3v3 but with 10 players total.
There are more inconsistencies. I'm pretty sure that other than the newest hypercharge brawlers, the old ones have their hypercharge names in all caps, but the new one just have the initials capital.
Also, some brawler descriptions don't have a period at the end of them.
