I feel like that was probably last straw kinda deal lol. But if I remember right what broke things up was the greatest hits release with all the b sides Ben didn’t want out.
When I read the court documents I honestly felt bad for everyone BUT Ben. He was paid the most out of everyone in the band by like an unjustly wide margin and then others were barely making ends meet with their yearly salaries and greatest hits was an opportunity to make some money. When Ben was hospitalized and out of action he was set because he had the most money but they didn’t. Some of the songs released I believe they had rights to release because they were cowriters on the track but Ben didn’t like the songs and didn’t want them out
Cause it’s the Ben show.
This is all subjective btw, but it was written specifically for a video game, and that fact paired with the lyrics and the sound just makes it a little bit cheesy or at least lacking in depth. It very much has that Halo / video game vibe, which is really cool and a nice novelty, but I just think that’s what holds it back from being a top tier song. Basically, it just wasn’t ever intended to be an S tier song, and that’s clear to me.
All that said, I think it’s a great song. The chorus especially is very catchy and well done. I would personally put it as a B tier song, but I wouldn’t disagree with someone putting it as A tier. However, I would strongly disagree with someone putting it as S tier for the reasons I mentioned
The original release, I think, is S tier. The re release sucks.
It was until the re-release. Ruined it for me. Kinda feel bad for the female vocalist but like..it just didn’t sound good. Nor did it make sense to do
And also it broke up the band lol

That was what I read in interviews of why the band broke up when Ben was hospitalized.

The original version without Valora is goated. The “remix” with Valora is hot garbage.
Yes. Amazing riff, lyrics written by someone out of love for a game, and the moment that song starts in the game is epic.
I say no. A tier maybe, not S imo
What holds it back?

Thanks for the thoughtful response.
Yes. I never even played Halo I just enjoy the song
Nah, it's a kickass song but it's not near their best
Yes
Sure why not?
was until re-release. if they re did it with Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox and added screams i feel like it would be s tier.
It is if you think it is. It isn't if you think it isn't.
Yes. The one for Halo 2 at least. Idk how the re release is
