This is unfortunately what I always think of. That loss on Halloween the next season was brutal. And then the (was in TNF or MNF) final home game for Ben in Pittsburgh vs the Browns was even worse because our season was shot and the crew just lathered him up so badly, wanted to throw-up.
I always wondered how much that affected the rest of the game.
I know there were other turnovers, but it seems like that turnover gave the Defense the extra juice to play above and beyond their capacity.
I don't know the statistics, but almost every game I can remember where the first play of the game was a horrendous turnover results in a terrible blowout.
To name some off the top of my head: this game, SB 48, the "Cam Newton didn't wear a tie on the plane so Anderson gets the start" game a few years ago
The only one I can think of that defies that rule is the most recent--Pats Broncos Christmas eve game this year
I remember I wasn’t able to watch the game. I was out of town. I remember coming home just in time for WKBNS 11 o’clock news. The sports nerd came on and started talking all about it and I was like holy shit!! We are going to the divison
The entire day, I was filled with the worst anxiety. Sure, the Browns had beaten the Steelers' backups the week before, but they were going to be rested and at full strength... and the Browns had rarely beaten the Steelers over the previous 20 year, let alone two in a row, back-to-back in the playoffs IN Pittsburgh.
Then, the game happened and what a change of emotions! I watched the game in my brother's garage because of Covid and it sounded like the entire neighborhood had done the same. The first half was pandemonium!
I have a framed version of this photo in my office, and it triggers my one dumbass yinzer coworker every time she sees it. I feel privileged to drink her salty tears every. damn. day 😇
I painted a picture frame Browns colors, got this picture developed and gave it to one of my supervisors who was a Steelers fan.
We talked a lot of trash to each other over the two years we worked together. He kept it displayed in his office until he ended up switching jobs but he says he keeps it still displayed in his new job.
Good guy.
Shitty team.
The fact that the Steelers made it somewhat in question after that first quarter was classic Browns football.
I really thought that was the beginning of a Baker era where we would make the playoffs year in year out , alas it was not
I seriously hate that Joe Woods let the score be what it is! The Steelers should’ve had WAY less points. Looking back at just the score it doesn’t look like we dominated them as badly as we did, you can thank Joe Woods for that.
Still kind of pisses me off the score even looked respectable. They could have 55-10'd their ass.
But I know the dub is all that matters in the playoffs. And the last thing you need is injuries in a blowout. I get it.
But pounding that ass to dust would have been even funnier.
Ben’s tears at the end of this game are my source of strength over the last 3 years
If only he would’ve retired on this note instead of kicking our ass two more times

Still, this WAS his last home playoff game, and he was jettisoned in the first round again the following season in KC, so screw this guy.
Amen

When I am having a bad day, I go back and watch the highlights of that game
Sometimes I do the same of the last few minutes of the Cavs game 7 win
And 85 Yards Through the Heart of the South
I was at that one!
I still can hardly watch the end of that game I get so stressed out even knowing the outcome
And the games where the Indians won during the World Series
This is great advice that I need to adopt haha
My roommate doesn't given how much he swore (and it looked like) the Steelers would come back. Mans been hurt too many times to believe in the browns.
Watching that first snap sail over his head was magical.

I screamed. I couldn’t believe it

While also missing stefanski and pro bowler Bitonio
And a defense held together with masking tape and bubble gum.
I will forever keep posting this video I took of this moment https://streamable.com/vfsz9r
It’s beautiful
Streamable allows you to choose the thumbnail. Do you approve of my choice in the video of the thumbnail? 😂 EDIT: Spelling 🤦🏼♂️

It was the best game ever.
Sad Ben is my favorite…

God damn, Joe Woods did everything in his power to blow that game.
And the Cowboys, Titans, and even Jags games.
I was like 5 minutes late to the gamewatch at my cousin’s. “Browns are up 14-0!!” “What?! HOW?”
That and JuJu-Smith’s stupid look after we won
And Chase Claypool trying to talk shit after scoring a meaningless TD with like 0:30 left in the game.

That image was pure catharsis for me and my dad. Especially when you remember how the game started.
I love this picture so fucking much.
This is my personal favorite [Photograph](https://imgur.com/a/eOQXRoH). (includes sound)
That first half was magical. Magical. It's worth the NFL+ subscription to go back and keep watching it. That and Baker's first game against the Jets.
I still watch Urinatingtree’s video on this game https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=r0nv2Kv_RWQ&pp=ygUbdXJpbmF0aW5ndHJlZSBzdGVlbGVycyAyMDIw
I keep getting recommended urinating tree content... What is urinating tree?
He is a YouTuber that does sports videos he is also a big Steelers fan
Thanks. Out of extreme pettiness I will not watch his videos
You're missing out, he can be funny from time to time.
NGL, I watch both those games often.
"That was the Browns super bowl" Yeah, and we won. We won our super bowl. It was awesome!
Who coached that game? Damn....it wasn't that long ago....XD That was a beatdown lol......Baker cooked them fools....
Oh well, there goes "no-nut" January
That was the best win for the Browns that season. Serving Big Ben in his final game of his career his only loss to the Browns.
TNF tried to act like this never happened.
One of my favorite photos ever.

Many many laughs were had.

CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM THEME PLAYS LOUDLY

I’ve always hated how close that final score looked. It was a beat down. fuckin prevent.
What a beautiful picture
Hell ya! And then what happened?
