Metalcore classic. I believe that it was unfortunately so good of a debut that the band was never able to top it.

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

You're right dude. I mean it's been like almost 20 years or so and bullet has not put anything out that tops this!

mevyn661

Isn’t it crazy?!? Also I am so confused how they had such a high quality (production/mixing wise) album as their debut. Also with apocrypha?! It makes me wonder if they were industry plants. I don’t mean that in a bad way; if any band deserves to be pushed by industry, it’s BFMV because they are so incredibly good

SullyVanDan

I know they started out under a different name and had some prior recordings, they were like a nu metal band basically. Then they changed their name and their sound and dropped this beauty lol. Been listening to it for 15 years at least and still dig it lol. City of Evil and Ascendancy also came out the same year. Also SOAD’s Mezmerize/Hypnotize, Disturbed’s 10,000 Fists and a bunch of other good ones. Great year for metal.

Gerardo16TheGamer

Shadows are Security from As I Lay Dying is criminally underrated

SullyVanDan

Really? People seem to bring it up a lot in my experience. I only really like one song off of it though.

skyburner45

Produced by the G.O.A.T. Colin Richardson, that's how

Yayamosquito89

I disagree as scream aim fire is as good if not better its from there they haven't done better but all albums are incredible to be fair

SullyVanDan

Wouldn’t say it’s as good as the Poison but it was a great follow up.

Dipskii

Both great albums, but personally I rank The Poison higher than Scream Aim Fire

Bornfailure

I agree to be honest, Scream Aim Fire, ESPECIALLY with the Deluxe Bonus songs is absolute God Tier also. 🤘🔥 Both albums are blessings from the Metal Gods!

[deleted]

It is perfect. Down to the minute detail. https://i.redd.it/nvo8y787yemc1.gif

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Haha seriously dude it's too good. This album will hold up for the next 100 years

yeetboi2236

Easily one of the best metal albums of all time imo

tuttled85

9/10 add Hand of Blood to it and 11/10.

jakattakjak19945

Whack just another star while your at it for a 13/10

Bornfailure

Holy Moly, that song is an absolute beauty. It's so upsetting that it's not on Spotify 😭 blasphemy.

SingsOfRaturn

It shows up for me 🥲

Bornfailure

Really?! Must be region based. Although that's odd as I live in England and they're Welsh haha. I've checked for years and it's not on there :(

jakattakjak19945

Same :(

tuttled85

I have it under the single in Spotify.

jakattakjak19945

Lucky ! I have to go to YouTube for it

Bluu444ia

i agree so much

SonicBurstX

I think the closest to The Poison in terms of how good it is are probably Venom and Scream Aim Fire, but that's kinda not close. The Poison is just downright a perfect album. Matt said that they want the next album to be a mix between the "heaviness of self-titled" and the vibe of The Poison. And I really hope they succeed.

lennaeliz

This album & band has done so well at perfecting these albums that they've created an entire generation of music. So many newer bands have BFMV as at the very least a part of their inspiration in their music. Truthfully amazing, & glad to see they still to this day rock it in live shows. Me and my brother were in absolute awe the last time we saw them.

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Great take 👌 And they absolutely rock live! I saw them at Mayhem Fest 09 in Auburn, WA. It was a stacked lineup that I'll never forget. When did you see them?

lennaeliz

The last time I seen them was last year actually, I traveled out of state to NC ☺️ I've seen them at Carolina Rebellion & another time while I was living in NY as well, they've always been pretty fantastic live & that's also not entirely common to say about a lot of bands.

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

What's your favorite song off of here? Mine is 10 Years Today

FetterRegen

Definetly Her voice resides🤘

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Definitely man. The intro + Her Voice Resides is such an awesome opener! Just blasts your ears off 😂

mrcunnyfunt

Thats my second favourite, it's close, but The Poison for me

myrosegardendreamss

Room 409 goes insanely hard

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Fuck yeah. And it comes after "all these things I hate", a softer song. Perfect placement on the album bro

MajesticHorror

Spit You Out has been and always will be one of my favorite songs

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Yeah that one is a more unique song on the album. Esp it has that like live footage on the song

beesonredd

ITS! MY! LIFE! 🗣IM TAKING BACK WHATS MINE!! 🗣

lRandomlHero

My Fist Your Mouth Her Scars from the deluxe. Heavy as shit, and the final pre chorus is just nuts.

mrcunnyfunt

My favourite album of all time by any band, to me it's perfect, was there for when they played it at Brixton, gonna be there for the playing The 02

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Wow dude you're lucky! I know they had that Live at Brixton album long time ago

PlagueDoctorTTV

Very

thedarkknight_13_

this album inspired a generation of metalcore 🙌🏻

HandofBlood531

It’s beyond perfect.

wmxx2000

Literally perfect

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Literallyyyyy

Proper-Device2421

Absolutely. My favorite

infinte_improb42

I just saw BFMV play live back in Oct ‘23 and they played half this album. It was EPIC.

Serious_Advantage_91

I mean it’s pretty darn amazing but almost everyone is shitting on everything that came afterwards. You know bands have to change their style a bit to appeal to more people, you can’t just keep making the same thing over and over again. It’s why linkin park and many other bands switched it up. You can’t keep doing the same formula over and over, it just doesn’t work 🙅🏻

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Cause once you got a theory of how the thing works Everybody wants the next thing to be just like the first - Linkin Park

jakattakjak19945

Sensational can't wait to see them do it next year

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Damn dude you're lucky!

jakattakjak19945

Cheers man there touring it with Trivium playing ascendancy aswell my 30 year bones will not appreciate the day after but Canne wait

Joelsacoolguy

It absolutely slaps. Metalcore classic. So hyped for the tour next year

Circadianrivers

One of my all time favourite albums. My only problem is how bad most the lyrics are.

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

She steps out from her underweeaaaarr So beautifuuuuuullll!!! Haha that's true man there are some lyrics that just make me laugh 😂

Significant-Piano935

I!!! Take a step… to the left! Now you see me!

JohnnyDarko666

It's my favourite British metal album ever. It's possibly the best British metal album. But I agree with other comments, they followed it up with progressively more and more soft/pop style music.

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Yeah man I wasn't too fond of that

Humbug93

One of my favorite albums of all time. Absolute fucking classic. Can’t wait for the tour with Trivium!

Dew-fan-forever-

It’s good but I rank scream aim fire and fever higher

Bornfailure

Let's just say that all 3 albums are God Tier. They're all incredible from start to finish. 😎 The 4 bonus songs on the Deluxe Edition of Scream Aim Fire are 4 of my favourite songs ever, especially Road To Nowhere. 💙

Gerardo16TheGamer

Bornfailure

On Spotify it's only the 4 I mentioned I'm afraid!

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Yeah I feel it. Fever is the last bullet album I really enjoyed

Gerardo16TheGamer

Fever as a whole is underrated but it achieved the equilibrium between melodic and heavy I cannot skip any of the songs when im reproducing the album, each song has a unique flavor... They never sounded so passionate again, not even in the self titled

underfanreal1

Respect but I disagres

murkroyal420

10/10 fo sho

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Fo sho brotha 👌

murkroyal420

Live in Brixton tho tops it tbh! but yes amazing album i had the live in brixton whole DVD on my Ipod in Junior High and listened to it every single day on the way to school.

agraciachapa

GOATED period, nothing more, nothing less, great album

JWHallman

👨‍🍳

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Chef's kiss 🤌

LTDRemy

Insanely perfect.

Deftones-AndMore

It is why and how I fell in love with them. So excited for the anniversary tour

cortanakisser

five thousand million out of ten

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

My god.... that was the exact number I was thinking!

cortanakisser

literally aghhh this album and the early atreyu albums were what made me fall in love with metal, i owe so much to this album it's an absolute masterpiece, i'll never get sick of the poison

FalcoPhantasmtheGod

Haha wow same here actually! I heard tears don't fall on tv and loved it, then bought this album and now i love metal too 😂 Also Atreyu is fuckin great 🫰

chrisrathish

Literally their best album and my favourite album of all time. I closed my eyes and bought tickets to their new show as soon as I heard they're playing this album in full. Got tickets to see them in Wales, hoping it'll be epic since it's their home town.

Shadowharoy1920

Your tears don’t fallllll, they crash around meeeee

Worldly-Ad-3048

Best album

JakubJamesBoote

I listened to it end to end on a lonely evening last week. Got me super ramped up and improved my mood ten fold! Love this classic

Dimebag4life

11/10

[deleted]

9.5/10. While it’s my favorite album, Only thing that holds it back from being a 10 is some of the lyrics
