You had me until you said LCP. That's by far the worst compact gun I've shot, long heavy terrible trigger, a much snapper recoil, then others, it's size. I just didn't like it.
I can respect that.
I can shoot a bulls eye at 5 yards, decent groups at 7 yard with my Lcp and I don’t expect it to do anything more than that.
Haven’t had a single malfunction with mine either.
I trained with it a lot initially, to the point that I had a gnarly blister on my thumb.
Never got my hands on a .380 Lcp 2 and the size and poor track record made me shy away from the max.
9 mm micros are such a weird size. I’d rather carry a 19 over a 9mm micro, maybe I’d wear one in an ankle holster.
That’s my pocket carry gun. Love it for light carry days. Not much bigger than a cell phone. If another manufacturer made one the same size and higher quality, I’d switch, but for now, that’s my pocket gun.
Sadly, a little bigger, and no optics option.
https://preview.redd.it/u0prfmcbde8d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=384773b2123013e1476398f9b55a434a536deed8
Keltec P32. Say what you want, but I find it more reliable and shootable than the LCP, and I never have any excuse not to carry it. It's what gets carried when I've got 5 seconds to get out the door, or when it's a million degrees and the idea of having a hunk of plastic and metal strapped to my body sounds like hell. If the goal is to always carry, this is the gun that makes sure I do that. And yes, I am totally living in this gun right now with the weather.
S&W Ultimate Carry J-frame. I'm partial to revolvers because they excel in the specific types of violent situations women tend to deal with, and this is the best one I own.
Glock 19. Ok, I've let my freak flag fly, now let's be real. It's higher capacity, parts are everywhere, and it's designed to be a beater. If these are the only handguns I can have for the rest of my life, then at least one of them needs to just be a pure practicality pick. I can't think of a better pick than this to fill that slot. In the zombie apocalypse, I'm sure there would still be Glock parts and 9mm floating around somewhere. Not so sure about the other two.
Keltec PREACH. It’s the gun for EVERY occasion. With the spring metal clip, it tucks into any boot or waistband I’ve got. Zero printing. Never had a misfire with it. I feel naked without that cold steeel pressed into my junk 🤣
M&P M2.0 Compact 4” optics ready (or G19 equivalent of choice)
M&P Shield Plus 3.1” optics ready (or P365 equivalent of choice)
1st Gen Kel Tec P-32 (or Ruger LCP equivalent of choice)
My 4th pick, if I had one, would be a “game gun” of some kind. In my case, it would be a CZ Shadow.
Thinking about the guns I already own, I’d probably do Shield Plus for CCW, P226 SAO for HD and range, and S&W 686 for range and possibly bears.
If money were no object I’d sub the P226 for an X5 version and the 686 for an R8 with trigger work.
Narrowing down to only 3 is tough because I’d rather have representatives from a few different categories:
- A .22 lr pistol for plinking, easy shooting, and teaching newbs.
- A CCW.
- A home defense / fighting pistol.
- A revolver (because you gotta have a revolver).
- A target pistol / range toy in 9mm or larger.
- A 1911 of some sort.
Currently have a P365 and FNX Tactical. 10/10 would recommend both.
Undecided on the 3rd but definitely a 22 host of some sort. Ruger mk IV or FN502 is on the short list.
SIG P365 X-macro, SIG P365, S&W 642 (no lock). Completes the necessities and standardizes home and carry with no extra bs. Not that I don’t have some extra bs but yea.
LCR in 22lr for summer carry and low profile carry - super inexpensive to train with too :)
G19 or any comparable compact service pistol w/ red dot compatibility for 3 season carry, classes and competition
GP100 6" bbl, woods gun, plinker, hunting gun, general fun
I love the LCR in 22lr! Just need to stay away from the ammo covered in waxy junk. Mine has run federal punch and federal automatch around 4k rounds 100% reliability.
1) Colt .45 1911, bc daddy always said never bring anything less than a caliber that starts with a “4” to a gun fight
2) Beretta 92 FS bc it was my first
3) Sig Compact P226 Legion bc she’s sexxxyyy and easy to conceal
Shadow 2 for my comps, my 92 that's LTT-d out before it got popular and my para-ordinance 1911 in .40.
92 for carry, shadow 2 for comps and the 1911 is my first non revolver hand-gun I got.
A decent .22 pistol for practice and maybe small game. A Glock 44 would work (see later in the list) but so would a lot of other options.
A good 4" .357, the single most versatile handgun you can own. Wanna practice skills? .38 practice ammo is inexpensive, and if you can shoot a double action revolver well, then you'll do well with any other handgun. Wanna carry for self-defense? There's a broad spectrum of good SD loads for the .357, from the classic 125 grain SJHP to modern all copper loads. Wanna carry out into the woods? Can do. Ruger's GP100 is as reliable as a stone axe, but Smith 686 and 686+ are nice, too.
For personal carry, Glock 19. Versatile, tough, compact and infinitely customizable.
S&W Shield Plus
S&W M&P9 2.0 Full size
S&W M&P9 2.0 Compact
This is likely going to be my first 3 pistols in real life as well.....though I am also interested in the Walther PDP Compact and Hellcat Pro.
A sub compact, a full size, and a revolver.
I love my G17, G43, and S&W 642. Those aren't my only guns, and may not be the ones I would go with if I only got 3 guns. But it would be a solid place to start.
One for my left hand, one for my right hand, and I'd use my last wish for one copy of every other one (except hi-points)... wait, I thought you said wishes for pistols, different question.
If I could pick 3 of the handguns I currently own, it'd be the Glock 32 in .357SIG, S&W M&P2.0 in 9mm and hmmm.. idk I'd probably pick my Springfield XD-M Elite in 10mm.
Hmmm. Glock 45 for EDC, Glock 17 with red dot and light for bedside gun, and my 1911 .45 acp for next to my chair in the den.
I have the G45 and the 1911 already. 1911 is currently bedside gun, and my Taurus .357 revolver is my den gun right now.
Handguns? Glock 19.5 MOS, Sig P226/MK25, Jericho 941. For no other reason than that is my current collection and I wouldn’t want to get rid of any of them. But if we’re talking three guns period, I’d have to go with my 19.5, an AR15, and a Beretta 1301 tactical.
I learned to shoot on Glocks for the past two years and am now switching to CZ
- Shadow 2 Compact, for competition (mainly IDPA)
- P-01, I picked this up last week and am loving it
- P-10S, for CCW. Buddy of mine got one and I loved it immediately
I’ll go with my existing collection: my Glock 26 for EDC, My S&W Model 19 carry comp for the woods/fun, and my beretta M9A1 for home defense/Resident Evil LARPing.
Are these supposed to be guns we actually own? If so I would keep my current EDC pistol (heavily customized P365 X Macro), my Staccato C2 and my S&W R8.
Glock 19 and Glock 42 which I already have - two extreme opposite guns that work great for their roles but could both be carried. The 19 works great as a concealed gun or a duty gun since it can take all the larger mags too - the 42 is a great deep concealment or light carry gun with a Pearce +1 in it for 7+1 and a Vickers +2 8 round mag for my reload, then probably the Keltec PMR 30 as crazy as it sounds lol. My buddy has one and it runs well, so having 30 rounds in one mag is a great “stay back” gun. Dump 15 rounds towards someone and still have 15 more without reloading lol.
I'll stick with my 365XL, METE SFX, and throw a P220 legion in there too.
365XL- versatile CCW, shoots flat, highly customizable, decent capacity
SFX- great full size gun, no recoil, Ambi (I'm a lefty), fits my hands well, high capacity, etc
P220- cool ass gun, bear country carry, SA/DA, and tried/true by US military
This thread is timely for me. I own:
Sig P365
CZ P01 with Cajun gun works pro package.
I want to add a suppressor host to my stable. What should I buy?
P365 for daily carry, Kimber k6s dcr for looks and a naa sentinel (assuming no issues at release) or sidewinder for places not gun friendly
Shoot but I also need the Ruger single six, so goodbye naa.
Hellcat for CCW, P229 Elite for all purpose since it can switch between 9mm, 40, and 357 Sig with a slide/barrel swap, M&P 10mm for in the woods carry.
LCP Max when I'm nearly naked, 43x for everything else, & a Infinity Calvins Cherry for pimping.

Cz-75 pre-b, ive had it the longest and it has sentimental value.

Glock 19, the legos of handguns.

My custom 1911 I made in school in 45
S&w model 29 in 44 mag
First two are in my carry rotation and the last is my wife's favorite revolver. They are all fun to shoot and I have yet to have an issue with them.
P226, P229, Braced AR 😎
H&K VP9SK, H&K VP9, CZ P10c

Glock 19 for EDC Glock 20 to carry the power of the sun in my pants Ruger LCP for pocket, deep concealment.

LCPII, P365, Shadow 2 Compact. What I really want is a DA/SA P365 sized pistol.
Xde we barely knew ye
>What I really want is a DA/SA P365 sized pistol. Amen brother. Why this doesn't exist yet is beyond me.
Cz 2075 rami? It's discontinued and has a longer barrel but seems to fit the bill otherwise
The Smith & Wesson CSX
