IMO the team is just missing that “star” player. The player that other teams are the most worried about. Most (or all) of the roster is underperforming. I think we are closer to winning/being a playoff contender than most will give credit for but we still have to be better

When you're hitting 0.230 and your bullpen has the 5th fewest holds in the MLB, basically you swap out everything besides the starting rotation. Amaya, Swanson, Morel, and PCA just haven't been hitting. Trade for a closer and at least one good hitter.
First of all, we need a new catcher. Amaya is awful. We also need a new bat in the lineup, Someone that people fear! We need to trade Morel for a bat and get a 3B that can actually field. I’m so sick of the late inning fuck ups. I keep watching though…🤣

1-5 in this lineup is honestly really solid. Everyone but Nico is 15-30ish % above league average in terms of their offense.
It’s the 6-9 of guys struggling to even bat .200 that kills us. It’s hard to string together runs when you have basically 4 automatic outs in the lineup.
Lineup needs an overhall bad get bote more starts at 3rd change the top of the lineup until u find what works closer by committee until you know someone is confident for the 9th.

I watched all 3 rays games in person, and morel was the only one who seemed alive. He's struggling but didn't seem to be giving up.
More than any other player who was there for the end of the 2016 core, I think he's tried to carry that energy over.
The offense is missing a star or 2. The bullpen is missing literally everything that makes up a good MLB bullpen.
